Chapter 311 What I Like To Do, What Does It Have To Do With You?

When Rose was lost in thought, Flynn had already written down the improved prescription on paper and placed it on the table before standing up and saying, “Give it to Katrina. She needs to finish clinical trials within two days, or Lilia will have spent almost all of her $10 billion.”
“You should work less overtime these next few days and get some rest. I don’t want to have to treat you again,” he added.
As soon as he finished speaking, Flynn left the office.
Rose stared at the villa keys on the table for a long time.
Flynn drove towards Plenilune Mountain after leaving the factory area. As he passed an intersection, he saw Harriet looking worried.
“Where are you going?” Flynn asked as he parked his car.
Seeing that it was Flynn, Harriet forced a smile and said, “Mr. Clark, my cousin is getting married tomorrow and some relatives from out of town are coming. My uncle has arranged for me to book a few rooms for them.”
“I think Wealthy Source Hotel two blocks away is good – reasonable prices too. I want to go there and see.”
Flynn frowned, “It’s already dark outside; aren’t you afraid walking alone at night?”
“I thought it wasn’t far from here so I decided to walk over,” Harriet explained.
Although Wealthy Source Hotel was close by Energence Pharmaceuticals, this area wasn’t very safe at night. So Flynn opened his passenger door and said, “Come on then; since I’m free now I’ll give you a ride.”
Odin was his good friend who had taken countless punches for him in school – helping him now seemed only natural.
“Thank you Mr. Clark.” Harriet got into the passenger seat.
She was wearing a uniform, with a faint scent of orchids lingering on her body. Under her black skirt were a pair of long legs pressed together, reflecting radiance.
The white shirt was obviously a bit small, and the two buttons on the chest felt like they were under immense pressure, as if they were about to burst.
Flynn glanced at those two buttons and raised an eyebrow.
“You were absent-minded at the company just now, and now you want to relax. Are you facing difficulties at work?”
“No, it’s about my cousin Odin,” Harriet shook her head, sighed, and explained, “His wife’s family just made more demands.”
“They want Odin to marry into their family and they refuse to provide financial support for his sick parents.”
Although they weren’t blood siblings, Odin had taken care of her a lot. After Harriet’s grandfather fell ill, Odin supported her to attend university. Their relationship was like that of siblings.
Harriet was also angry when Odin encountered such a situation.
“What did Odin say?” Flynn furrowed his brow.
Odin had said in the afternoon that his mother-in-law was irritable, looked down on him, and demanded a top-rated hotel and a large sum of money as a gift. Then in the evening, she made even more outrageous demands?
“Of course, my cousin doesn’t want to, and his wife has already fallen out with her family. But her mother still won’t back down and resorts to crying, making a fuss, and threatening suicide.”
“Even Odin’s mother is worried that the marriage won’t happen and that Odin will end up being single, so she’s pressuring him to agree.”
“Odin is caught in a dilemma, and in the end, he agreed. But the parents on his wife’s side don’t consider my family as human beings. They insulted us, saying we’re worse than animals. Even Odin’s mother was insulted to the point of tears.”
Flynn shook his head. This situation was quite chaotic.
However, it was Odin’s decision, and even though they had a good relationship, Flynn couldn’t intervene in such a major matter like marriage.
During their conversation, the two arrived at the Wealthy Source Hotel.
“Hello, how much is the suite here per night?” Harriet approached the counter and asked.
Flynn also came to the counter.
After all, it was his good friend’s wedding, so it wouldn’t hurt to provide some assistance.
He believed in the principle of repaying kindness with gratitude, and he would repay others when they helped him.
“Hehe, isn’t this Rose’s bodyguard, the ex-convict who was recently released from labor camp? You’re in a good mood today, bringing a prostitute to book a room,” a sarcastic voice came, and Lilia, dressed in expensive clothes, walked over with a bottle of liquor in her hand.
Harriet turned her head abruptly, anger evident in her voice, “Please stop making baseless assumptions. I’m not a prostitute; I am Mr. Clark’s secretary.”
“And I’m here to book a room for my relative, not what you’re insinuating!”
“Relative?” Lilia sneered, coldly saying, “Alright, no need to explain. Layla has seen him at Club Apex anyway!”
“Everyone knows what kind of trash Flynn is. The more you defend him, the worse it gets!”
“Lilia, are you an idiot?” Flynn’s face turned cold, and he looked sharply at Lilia, saying, “Regardless of whether things are true or not, what does it have to do with you?”
“Of course, it has nothing to do with me. I’m just glad that Layla dumped you, a scumbag. Otherwise, she would be embarrassed too!” Lilia smirked.
Harriet saw that the woman was Lilia and immediately suppressed her anger. She didn’t dare to confront the heiress of the billion-dollar Hussain family head-on.
At this moment, Layla also came downstairs and frowned when she saw Flynn. When she noticed Harriet next to him, her expression became even more disgusted and disdainful.
Layla shook her head at Flynn and said, “Although we have nothing to do with each other anymore, I still have some advice for you.”
“Even Madeline looks down on you, and there’s a reason for that.”
“Not only are you incapable, but you’re also trash. You’ve only been a security head for a few days, and you’re already getting involved with your secretary. It’s disgusting to see!”
Upon hearing this, Harriet’s face turned red with anger, but knowing that they were Lilia and Layla, she didn’t even have the courage to defend herself.
For Harriet, these two were like the sun in the sky, shining so brightly that she couldn’t even look directly at them, let alone confront them.
“It seems that you’re also brain-dead. You said we have nothing to do with each other, so why are you blabbering?” Flynn looked at Layla, his face full of impatience.
He had been enjoying a few days without running into Layla, and he was feeling particularly relaxed. He didn’t expect to encounter her again in the evening. It was really annoying!
Layla remained calm, with a hint of disgust, and said, “I’m just expressing my regret on behalf of Madeline. You can choose not to listen, but I want to say it.”
Lilia smiled faintly and said to Harriet, “Girl, see him for who he really is. Don’t let him deceive you with a few small favors.”
“He’s already married, yet he dares to make a move on you. Not only that, he even makes you pay for the hotel. Can someone like this be a good person?”
“I really don’t understand what’s wrong with girls your age. You don’t value yourselves at all!”
“Even if you degrade yourself, at least find a CEO. You even set your sights on a security team leader. It shows how foolish you are!”
Harriet bit her lip in humiliation and explained softly, “Ms. Hussain, Ms. Woods, things are not as you think.”
At this moment, Flynn’s face also darkened completely.
He was angered by Lilia’s words.
He had no interest in arguing with this trash.
But Harriet was different. She hadn’t gotten married yet, she was innocent, and yet she was being slandered as a cheap woman. How could she not feel wronged?
