Chapter 277 A Quasi Grandmaster is Not Enough For Me to Slap!

“Hehe, you guys are overestimating him.”
Andrew sneered, “Mr. Cox, considering he has offended your son and brother successively, fearing retaliation, he must have investigated you. Knowing that you’ve reached the stage of internal energy mastery is not surprising.”
“As for Camden, it’s the same. Since he is a business partner, Energence Pharmaceuticals must have checked the identities of Mr. Calder and Mr. Howe, making it easy to find out about Camden.”
After saying this, he looked at Flynn mockingly and said, “I have to admit, as Rose’s bodyguard, you’ve done quite well within the scope of your duties. You’re a qualified guard!”
With these words, the solemn expressions on everyone’s faces disappeared, and they all laughed.
“I knew it! How could a young man under thirty be a Grandmaster? He’s not even on the same level as Camden!”
“I have to say, he’s quite outstanding at his age. If he weren’t so arrogant, he might have achieved the rank of Grandmaster. Unfortunately, he offended Mr. Cox.”
“Grandmaster?” Garrett, hearing the discussions, chuckled disdainfully, “You guys think too highly of him. Do you know how difficult it is to become a Grandmaster? One in a million!”
“A martial artist with exceptional talent may not achieve it in a lifetime!”
“Garrett is right!” Sullivan, looking proud, said, “The higher a martial artist cultivates, the more difficult it becomes, especially reaching the stage of internal energy mastery. It seems like it’s just one step away from being a Grandmaster, but there’s actually a huge gap between the two!”
“Although I am at the peak of internal energy mastery, it will take another ten years to become a Grandmaster!”
In the presence of business people with limited knowledge of the martial arts world, their eyes showed signs of astonishment upon hearing the explanations of the two.
They hadn’t realized how challenging it was to achieve the rank of Grandmaster.
Finally, they understood the meaning of the saying, ‘A Grandmaster is like a dragon which is hard to find.’
“Mr. Cox, you are being modest. You have already reached the peak of internal energy mastery, becoming a Grandmaster is just a matter of time. When that happens, I will host a banquet with three hundred tables for you!” Braiden said with a smile.
After hearing this, the others were also flattering, eagerly trying to gain favor.
In their eyes, Sullivan would undoubtedly become a Grandmaster sooner or later. At that time, his status would be much more noble than now, and they needed to curry favor in advance.
Moreover, Sullivan was already formidable at the moment. The spectacle caused by the release of internal energy just now continued to shock them.
Flynn smiled upon hearing their words but remained silent.
It seemed as if he were a god looking down at ants talking, and he felt nothing but disdain.
He wasn’t a Grandmaster, indeed.
But he was an existence terrifying beyond comparison with Grandmasters!
“Why are you laughing? Do you think that being someone recognized by the War God makes us afraid to touch you?” Andrew said coldly.
“Killing you, the War God won’t get angry with us just because of a guard like you!”
“It’s an honor for you to die at the hands of an aspiring Grandmaster. If you hadn’t offended the Cox family, Mr. Cox wouldn’t even bother to look at you!”
Flynn responded calmly, “I’m just curious. A quasi-grandmaster is not enough for me to slap.”
“How can you all grovel like this and still talk so much nonsense? Annoying!”
This statement made everyone angry.
“This guy is too arrogant! He dares to disrespect Mr. Cox like this!”
“He’s done for! He will die miserably! Mr. Cox can break stones with his bare hands, does this guy think his mouth is harder than stone? He’ll be beaten to death by Mr. Cox in minutes!”
Corbin heard everyone talking about Flynn and snorted coldly.
He thought Flynn was clueless and foolish for facing such a strong opponent without seeking mercy or finding another way out.
Flynn said he could kill a quasi-grandmaster with one slap, but he probably hadn’t even started yet before Sullivan turned him into blood mist!
Ignorance truly knows no fear!
Camden also looked down on Flynn.
Flynn must have some skills if he was able to injure someone from the Cox family.
However, even geniuses need to know how to be humble and respectful! There are always people who are better than them in every way imaginable; many geniuses have died because of their arrogance alone – this guy probably won’t be spared either.
Moreover, Flynn couldn’t really be considered as a genius; at most he was just a young man with some abilities who probably couldn’t win against Sullivan anyway.
After hearing what Flynn said, Sullivan’s eyes grew cold as well; he didn’t want any more useless talk and strode towards him confidently while causing tremors on the ground with each step taken – making tea cups rattle loudly in response – killing intent filled the entire room.
Everyone felt as though they were carrying heavy boulders on their backs which made them feel suffocated under such pressure.
However, despite all that tension around him – Flynn remained calm as usual – almost like an ant approaching its prey – already deciding that he would turn Sullivan into blood mist!
After all if he didn’t take care of him now, then these trashy people would keep making noise endlessly!
Just when Flynn was worried about accidentally hurting Rose while planning on taking Sullivan outside where there was more space, a voice interrupted them, “Mr. Cox, please calm down first. We’ll have time after our competition ends.” Garrett stopped them both smilingly before turning towards Tristan, “Camden has surrendered already so let me compete against you using my witchcraft techniques!”
“Don’t worry Mr. Howe,” Garrett continued speaking, “I’ve already put poison in Mr. Calder’s tea earlier. Since you’re friends, I hope you’d help cure him!”
Corbin was shocked and furious upon hearing these words from Garrett; clearly not expecting that Garrett would use him as part of his competition toolset.
He stood up abruptly, about to curse, when Garrett pulled out a small drum the size of a palm and began to beat it rhythmically. He muttered something incoherent in Aofnili. The whole scene was extremely eerie, and the atmosphere was so oppressive that everyone’s scalp tingled.
“Garrett, how dare you… ah… there’s something in my stomach! Help me! Help me…” Corbin stopped mid-sentence and suddenly felt unbearable pain in his abdomen. He fell to the ground and rolled around wailing as if thousands of poisonous insects were wriggling inside his intestines.
The scene was shocking; everyone stared wide-eyed at what they saw. They rarely encountered such black magic before, so even Braiden’s business partners were nervous.
Tristan quickly knelt down and lifted Corbin’s shirt. His belly swelled with something rapidly squirming inside as if it would burst out any moment.
“Ah? It’s actually Consuming Witchcraft!” Tristan exclaimed in horror.
“It seems that Mr. Howe knows some witchcraft,” Garrett laughed heartily, “Yes indeed! This is Consuming Witchcraft that can make people wish for death!”
“On fifth May, take mosquito eggs and feed them with corpse oil until they become poisonous insects which he drank just now!”
“And this little drum I have here is made from human skin.”
“Every time I feed them mosquito eggs, I beat the drum to wake them up; they will be ready for feeding within ten minutes!”
“Mr. Howe hurry up and help him remove the curse; otherwise he’ll die painfully!”
Rose turned pale after hearing this news with her heart pounding wildly. She never expected Garrett who she regarded as a miracle doctor could practice such evil arts!
Andrew sneered when he saw Rose’s expression, “My grandfather not only knows Consuming Witchcraft but also more than ten other types of witchcraft including Snake Curse, Middle Harm Curse, and Ten Thousand Insect Curse.”
“People affected by these curses show different symptoms but without exception, all suffer from unbearable agony or death!”
“Ms. Sharp, you now understand how terrible refusing me can be!”
“You’d better agree to spend one night with me tonight or else…hehe…”
Andrew looked at Rose lasciviously while his expression became ferocious.
Obviously he had been waiting for this day for too long!
At this moment, Corbin was already foaming at the mouth, convulsing in pain. The internal agony felt like burning knives slashing through him, with the poisonous creatures surging up his throat and drilling down into his abdomen, seemingly spreading throughout his entire body.
“Mr. Howe, save Mr. Calder! Hurry!”
Camden was anxious, but he was helpless. He couldn’t defeat Sullivan, and he had no way to forcibly pressure Garrett using martial force.
“Don’t panic. Let me try…” Tristan’s forehead beaded with fine sweat. He quickly pierced Corbin’s abdomen with a bamboo stick, then took out a bamboo tube and poured out a green medicinal juice, applying it to the wound.
While Tristan was applying the medicine, countless tiny insect-like creatures, each the size of a louse, crawled out from the wound. They quickly covered his palm and swiftly burrowed into his pores.
Tristan was alarmed and tried to slap them away, but it was in vain. The insects had already traversed his bloodstream throughout his body.
In no time, Tristan began experiencing symptoms similar to Corbin’s. His abdomen swelled, and he writhed in pain, eventually collapsing to the ground!
