Chapter 226 A Fateful Encounter

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-6-4

“Who is this guy? Rose hasn’t even spoken yet, who does he think he is?”
“Energence Pharmaceuticals released a new drug before the Swanson’s Group, and if the drug works well, it should attract some investment.”
“If they release it with the Swanson’s Group, they’ll just be overshadowed by their spotlight and won’t get anything out of it!”
Everyone saw Flynn interrupting and taking over the conversation. They all rolled their eyes and shook their heads.
“Ms. Sharp, you need to control your subordinate. He has no respect for authority!” Braiden glanced at Flynn before turning his gaze towards Rose with a cold expression.
Lilia didn’t even bother looking at Flynn; she just stared coldly at Rose with a dark expression on her face.
Last time at Easy Auctions Expo, she was suppressed by Rose throughout the entire event. The Phoenix Emerges from Vast Sea painting that she liked ended up in Rose’s hands as well.
Lilia spent two hundred million dollars but still couldn’t buy it; not to mention being humiliated by “Master Timothy”. This incident caused quite a stir in Niarak’s upper circles and made Lilia feel embarrassed when she first arrived in Niarak.
Rose couldn’t help but glance at Flynn before saying indifferently, “Then let Energence Pharmaceuticals release its new drug together with the Swanson’s Group.”
“Oh my god! Ms. Sharp actually agreed! Won’t they be completely crushed by the Swanson’s Group?”
“I heard that the Swanson’s Group invited an A-list celebrity to attend along with Garrett, which will definitely make headlines everywhere. I don’t know how Energence Pharmaceuticals can compete against them!”
“Energence Pharmaceuticals has only just been established; its new drugs are probably not very effective yet. Today they’re releasing them simultaneously with the Swanson’s group. It’s like committing suicide!”
Everyone present sighed and shook their heads when they heard that Rose had agreed; thinking that she was too confident for her own good.
A company worth only tens of billions would surely be crushed facing off against the Swanson’ group; they could only serve as background decoration, making the Swanson’s Group look even better than ever!
Just then…
There was another commotion outside of the Exhibition Center as dozens of men and women entered one after another.
Their aura was unparalleled; each person exuded an extremely strong sense of superiority.
“Oh my god! Am I seeing things? People from Angel Syndicate, Shipmeda’s largest investment company, have actually come here!”
“Sunlight Corp.! Ostrad’s second-largest pharmaceutical distributor who owns six thousand pharmacies across eight states in Southern Territory also sent people here!”
“Pinnaclewell Pharmaceutical! The largest pharmaceutical company in Tregaron State…”
“The Niarak Pharma Congress has attracted herbal medicine traders from all over the country and numerous leading companies in the pharmaceutical industry. It can be described as a gathering of stars, with countless billionaires in attendance.”
“It can be said that today, renowned pharmaceutical companies and investment firms from all eight states of the Southern Territory have arrived!”
“They have all come for the Swanson’s Group’s Acebegron Clear Relief and are shaking hands with Lilia and Braiden one by one.”
“Among the thirty-plus magnates who just entered, only Orion came to stand by Flynn’s side, politely shaking hands with Rose.”
“Damn, only Mr. Kennedy is standing by Ms. Sharp’s side. It’s too shabby! Look at Mr. Hill’s side, even the billionaires in the hundreds of billions are accompanied by five people!”
“A while ago, Mr. Kennedy and Edwin each invested five billion in Energence Pharmaceuticals, causing a sensation in Niarak. It was truly mind-boggling!”
“Yeah! I don’t know what Mr. Kennedy was thinking, putting so much money into an unreliable small company!”
Orion, dressed in a bright blue suit with shiny shoes, greeted everyone with a smile on his face.
After Braiden escorted the twenty-plus bosses inside, he went straight to Orion’s side and advised, “Mr. Kennedy, I admire your abilities and character. Let me offer a word of advice: Mr. Kennedy, be cautious!”
“Investing is no child’s play, especially when it involves such a large sum of money!”
Orion laughed heartily, patted Braiden on the back, and nodded. “I appreciate your goodwill, and I have been in the business world for decades. I have my own judgment.”
At this moment, Lilia smiled and said, “Mr. Kennedy, once the new drug launch is over, the Swanson’s Group’s reputation will become even more prominent. You should seriously consider it!”
“Until everything is settled, our door is always open to you!”
Orion laughed heartily upon hearing this and repeatedly bowed, saying, “Thank you, Miss Hussain. Thank you, Mr. Swanson!”
Madeline stood still, watching Lilia being surrounded by celebrities, her eyes filled with admiration and envy.
“Miss Hussain is the same age as me, yet she can already chat and laugh with Mr. Kennedy and is acquainted with people from the Angel Syndicate. When will I be able to have the same unparalleled network and wealth as her?”
She drifted into a reverie, imagining herself in that scene, walking gracefully and confidently, with countless billionaires nodding to her and offering smiles…
Scarlet, however, had a different mindset. She gently tugged at Flynn’s sleeve and whispered, “Brother-in-law, I heard a rumor that the star helping out at the Swanson’s Group today is Darren!”
“He’s a hotshot at Joyland Entertainment, with more fans than Ricky. He can get millions of likes on his Twitter posts just by using an emoji!”
“Who did you invite?”
Flynn showed no expression when he heard the name “Darren.” He calmly said, “Celebrities are just a means of publicity. Even if you have heavenly beings endorsing your new drug, it won’t matter if it doesn’t work.”
Flynn was right about the effectiveness being crucial, but in everyone else’s eyes, not having a decent celebrity endorsement made them look bad. They used efficacy as an excuse and sneered at him.
“You make it sound like Energence Pharmaceuticals has some amazing drugs! They’ve only been open for one week and they think they can develop something good?”
“Acebegron Clear Relief has already spread throughout the medical industry since its small-scale release. It’s called a miracle drug and rightfully so. If you don’t have any ability then don’t speak up or else you’ll be slapped in the face later!”
Braiden also snickered coldly; he felt that arguing with Flynn would lower his own value so he chose to ignore him.
“Just a clown; I’m wasting my breath on someone who works as head security!”
Lilia was even more disdainful towards Flynn.
“A security guard like him isn’t fit to talk nonsense here in Dragon Gate Group! His mouth must have been sewn shut by now.”
She turned to Rose with mockery written all over her face, “Ms. Sharp, we’ve already beaten you once before; we’re sorry to let you despair again this time around.”
“I’ll give you another chance: release your new drug another day instead so that Energence Pharmaceuticals may still have some hope left under Acebegron Clear Relief from the Swanson’s Group overshadowing your product launch! Otherwise, nobody will pay attention to your new drug and all of your previous advertising expenses will go down the drain. There won’t be any possibility for success anymore!”
The launch of their new drug was Energence Pharmaceuticals’ opportunity: if successful, then they could attract investors which would turn them into giants capable of handling risks multiple times over. However, if they failed, then the Swanson’s Group would receive even more investments while leaving them with nothing, causing their gap between each other to widen further until there was no possibility left for Energence Pharmaceuticals!
Rose knew what was at stake but replied calmly, “Ms. Hussain, you;re too confident. What happens when it’s actually you who end up despairing?”
“Despair?” Lilia sneered after hearing this remark while looking down upon Rose endlessly.
“According to you, do you have an ace up your sleeve?” Braiden raised an eyebrow and chuckled.
“That’s right!” Rose took a deep breath and placed her hand on Flynn’s shoulder, saying calmly, “My ace up my sleeve is Flynn!”
