After being beaten up by Flynn yesterday and scolded by Uriah when he got home, Kamari missed the opportunity to meet the important guest at home.
He was feeling really down.
He heard that today was the Pharma Congress and wanted to come here to relax, but then he ran into Flynn and his anger flared up.
Although Kamari didn’t know much about medicinal herbs and didn’t like collecting these kinds of things, he thought it would be nice to make Flynn feel sick, so he followed suit and called out a price.
Flynn glanced at him indifferently before turning his head to hold up a sign.
“800 thousand!”
Kamari refused to back down immediately shouted, “900 thousand!”
He turned his head towards Flynn with mockery in his voice, “I’ve bought this musk! If you have balls keep calling out prices!”
After being slapped by Flynn more than ten times yesterday, he decided he had to save face.
Madeline saw that the other side was getting serious so quickly said, “Flynn, he’s determined to win this auction. You should stop raising the price.”
Flynn’s face darkened as he held up a sign directly saying, “9 million!”
Boom!
Everyone on site was stunned.
Kamari called for 900 thousand dollars; he called for 9 million dollars? Was he crazy?
Kamari also stared in disbelief; shouldn’t this guy raise it one hundred thousand dollars each time?
Even if it was not enough just say 2 million dollars! He raised the price directly from 900 thousand dollars?
When Madeline heard Flynn’s bid amount, she poked him hard and whispered, “You’re nuts! Even if it’s Mr. Wong family money, you can’t spend like this.”
“If he knew that you were showing off with his money, he would definitely be angry!”
But Flynn ignored her completely as he turned coldly towards Kamari saying, “Mr. Wong, do you want continue?”
“I’m continuing what? Do you think everyone is as stupid as you are? 9 million for this piece of junk!” Kamari glared at him.
Kamari thought that Flynn would bid up to 2 million at most, but he didn’t expect this guy to suddenly raise the price to 9 million.
Although he was wealthy, he couldn’t bear to spend millions on a piece of musk.
This musk was worth at most 1 million, and if he spent several million to buy it, wouldn’t he be ridiculed and mocked?
Flynn sneered coldly shaking his head saying, “Didn’t you say earlier that your one meal would cost more than my monthly salary? How come you’re scared now when I offer 9 million?”
“Don’t fucking provoke me!” Kamari flushed red, “I see through your trap trying to lure me in.”
“I won’t fucking fall into your trap! Let’s see how are you going to pay those 9 millions!”
He crossed his legs arrogantly waiting for Flynn’s embarrassment.
Madeline was taken aback when she heard Flynn’s words and saw Kamari’s bruised face. “Do you two have some kind of grudge?” she asked.
“It’s not really a grudge,” Flynn said nonchalantly. “He’s Kamari, the vice president of Energence Pharmaceuticals. He bullied the security team yesterday, so I gave him a few slaps and Rose fired him.”
Madeline couldn’t believe what she was hearing. How could someone who had slapped him so many times not consider it a grudge? This guy seemed to go around causing trouble wherever he went, which was infuriating.
Scarlet also looked surprised at Flynn’s actions but quickly regained her composure. After all, Flynn was like a scorpion, if people provoked him, he would sting them. She wasn’t surprised by his behavior anymore.
“9 million dollars! Congratulations Mr. Clark!” The auctioneer hammered down on the podium.
The etiquette lady came over to Flynn with her POS machine in hand.
Kamari sneered at him and said, “If you’re so rich, why are you working as a security captain? Let me see how you’ll pay for this 9 million dollar item!”
Everyone turned their attention towards Flynn since he was still an unfamiliar face in the crowd. Anyone who would spend 9 million dollars on something worth only 1 million must either be crazy or incredibly wealthy!
Flynn smiled and took out Uriah’s bank card that had been given to him earlier and swiped it on the POS machine successfully!
The scene erupted into chaos.
“This guy is really loaded! Incredible!”
“To spend 9 million dollars on something worth only 1 million takes real guts! Only billionaires can afford to do that!”
“Who is that guy with the swollen head? He keeps shouting nonsense and getting slapped in public. It’s embarrassing!”
Madeline shook her head inwardly; this guy just wanted to show off Uriah’s wealth by inflating prices for an item worth much less than its actual value. Madeline wondered how Uriah would react when he found out about this incident later.
Kamari also felt like vomiting blood after seeing what happened before his eyes: How could this lowly security captain have so much money?!
“You little bastard,” Kamari gritted his teeth at Flynn while turning red-faced with anger. “Don’t get too cocky; let’s play another game if you dare!”
Flynn didn’t even bother responding to Kamari.
Soon enough, another etiquette lady brought out a long wooden box covered in smooth golden cloth containing wild mountain ginseng from Hilney Mountains which had grown for 212 years weighing 317 grams with old roots covered in yellow-brown skin. Truly rare wild mountain ginseng!
Starting price: 1. 6 Million Dollars!
“1. 7 Million!”
As soon as he confirmed its authenticity by examining it closely, Flynn raised his paddle without hesitation.
“1 . 8 Million!”
He then turned around and saw Kamari’s smug face again.
Without any hesitation, Flynn continued raising his paddle higher, “1 . 9 Million!”
“2 Million Dollars!”
Kamari was determined to hold onto Flynn this time and wasn’t planning on letting go anytime soon.
“These two must have some kind of grudge, why are they taking it so seriously?”
“Who knows, if this continues, the auction item will probably sell for several million again!”
“The guy with the bruised face lost face earlier and definitely wants to make up for it. Wait and see, there’s a good show coming!”
As everyone discussed amongst themselves, Flynn calmly raised his paddle. “10 million dollars!”
Boom! The scene exploded once again.
2 million directly added to 10 million! It was too crazy!
Madeline saw how crazy Flynn was acting and immediately got angry. “Are you insane? Stop it now!”
Kamari almost vomited blood as well. This was madness! He was not treating money like money at all!
Adding 8 million all at once?! Even though his family was worth billions, he wouldn’t dare spend that much himself. How could that guy dare? But if he backed down now, won’t he be laughed at by Flynn? What should he do? He had just boasted earlier in front of so many people.
Thinking about this made Kamari grit his teeth and stomp his foot before shouting loudly, “10. 1 million dollars!”
The scene erupted once again.
He added another hundred thousand dollars! This was going too far!
Scarlet saw this scene and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Flynn lived in Thodell Mansion; Scarlet didn’t know how much money he had exactly but seeing him throw away hundreds of thousands of dollars on wine like it was water made her realize that Kamari wouldn’t get any benefits from him easily anyway.
Sure enough, Flynn ignored Madeline’s words completely and raised the paddle again, “20 million!” Money was just a number to him after all; besides this wasn’t even his own money. If there wasn’t enough then let the Wong family send more over later.
