“You… how can you be so strong?” Nathan looked at the shattered debris and cracked floor, his face full of shock.
You see, pear wood is hard. The table top was ten centimeters thick, two meters in diameter, and weighed a ton. Under Flynn’s punch, it shattered into hundreds of pieces!
He didn’t know how much martial arts training was required to do that. All he knew was that he couldn’t do it!
“Is it really that strong?” Flynn tilted his head and frowned. “I only used five percent of my strength.”
“Five percent?” Nathan was shocked again as he remembered their earlier competition. He felt like a mantis trying to stop a car or an ant trying to move a tree.
If Flynn had punched him during the competition, wouldn’t he have ended up with a bloody hole?
Roman saw that Flynn had gone easy on Nathan and quickly shouted at him, “Do you still think calling him ‘master’ is unfair now?”
“Now apologize!”
Nathan felt embarrassed and angry as he bit his teeth and said, “Even if I call him ‘master’ from now on, it’s just admitting that his martial arts skills are superior to mine. I don’t believe his medical skills are better than yours or even mine!”
“I will sincerely apologize if I lose in a medical skill competition against him.”
His pride had been hurt badly; he urgently wanted to regain some face.
He didn’t believe that someone as young as Flynn could be so skilled in both medicine and martial arts.
This guy must have put all of his energy into practicing martial arts while only having superficial knowledge about medicine or maybe just learned some remedies from an experienced doctor without actually treating patients.
When Roman heard this, he became angry, “How long do you want to keep acting recklessly? You’re embarrassing your family!”
As soon as Uriah heard the loud noise outside in front yard, he ran inside anxiously asking, “Mr. Price, are you okay here?”
He thought something exploded outside since there were such loud noises but when seeing the shattered pear wood round table, he couldn’t help but feel confused.
Did the pear wood table self-destruct?
Roman smiled and said, “It’s nothing serious. They were just competing earlier when they accidentally broke your family’s pear wood round table.”
“I’m sorry about this Mr. Price. This has caused trouble for my family.” Uriah first froze then waved his hand, “Don’t worry about breaking an expensive piece of furniture like this. If even my house gets demolished one day, I won’t complain!”
“As long as everyone is safe, it’s fine, haha…”
As he spoke, his heart was once again shaken. That pear wood table weighed almost a ton! Most people would break their bones trying to hit it hard, but these two had smashed the table into pieces!
Roman had fought in the war for his country with Uriah’s father and they had shed blood together. He knew that Uriah was speaking from the heart and believed him deeply.
Uriah smiled and bowed politely, saying, “Since you’ve finished talking about business and it’s almost mealtime, shall I have the chef prepare some food?”
“There’s no way we can stay here with all these broken wood chips around. Why don’t we go to the front yard for some tea?” Roman nodded at Flynn and asked.
“No need. I’ll go back now. Leave me your phone number; I’ll contact you tomorrow,” Flynn replied coolly.
Uriah frowned when he heard this young man ordering Roman like a servant.
Roman also looked embarrassed as he gave his number to Flynn before trying to bring up another matter.
But Nathan interrupted him by saying loudly, “I want to compete with you!”
Roman immediately became furious and glared at Nathan while raising his eyebrows, “You little brat! You never learn your lesson? Do you think because I’m old now that hitting you won’t hurt anymore? Just wait until we get back to Eahta; I’ll make sure your dad deals with you!”
“I want to compete with him! If he doesn’t dare, then he’s a coward!” Nathan wasn’t afraid at all as he stood there stubbornly repeating himself.
“You’re an unruly kid!” Roman was so scared by what Nathan said that his face turned pale. He picked up some of the broken wood chips from the ground readying himself for an attack on Nathan.
“Mr. Price let it be.” When Flynn saw how stubbornly determined Nathan looked, like unless someone beat him until his face bled out completely, then there’d be no way of making him submit. He couldn’t help but smile wryly while waving off Roman’s attempt at violence towards Nathan. Turning towards Nathan, he asked, “What do you want us to compare?”
Looking at Nathan who seemed so proud of himself despite everything else going on around them made Flynn think this guy was pretty funny after all.
This guy wasn’t really evil per se, more like a naive young master who didn’t know any better.
Flynn decided to agree with Nathan’s request.
Nathan saw that Flynn agreed, and regained confidence in himself. He said, “In traditional medicine they say ‘look, smell, touch, and ask’; let’s compare our ‘look’ technique!”
“There are over thirty people in the Wong Mansion; let’s find several people each, and tell each other what illnesses they have.”
“Without even taking a pulse, one can tell what illness a patient has just by looking at their face. It sounds difficult, but since you dared to become my master’s master, it shouldn’t be too hard for you,” said Nathan.
“As long as you win, I’ll respect you. How about that?” Nathan challenged.
Nathan’s words surprised Uriah. “You can tell what illness someone has just by looking at their face? That’s impossible!” he exclaimed.
Nathan shook his head and boasted proudly. “What’s so hard about it? I have this ability and he should be able to do it too!”
He looked towards Flynn with a challenging look in his eyes.
Nathan had been under Roman’s tutelage since he was three years old and had seen Roman diagnose thousands of patients over the years. Due to his long exposure and remarkable memory, Nathan remembered every patient’s appearance when they were sick.
Even Roman couldn’t match Nathan in this skillset; therefore, Nathan was sure that Flynn would lose so that he could mock him, “You can’t even beat me! How are you supposed to be my teacher?”
“Nathan, your memory is amazing but using it like this is unfair to Mr. Clark,” scolded Roman disapprovingly.
Roman had met Flynn several times before but only saw him take pulses and diagnose illnesses; thus making him skeptical of Flynn’s ability to diagnose based on facial features alone.
However…
Flynn nodded in agreement, “Okay then! Let’s do it your way.”
“We’re both new here so there won’t be any cheating involved which makes things fair.” Nathan said smugly, “Let the Wong family find three patients for us. We’ll each write down our diagnosis on paper then compare who got more correct diagnoses.”
“That sounds good,” replied Flynn nodding at Uriah
Uriah didn’t say much either; instead he ordered the servants to clean up the main hall before leaving the courtyard himself to find some people for them.
“I dare say not more than three people in Ostrad know how to do this skill, not even my master may have such an ability. Get ready because you’re going down!” gloated Nathan confidently.
“Hmph! No one will ever surpass me as a teacher!” declared Nathan while crossing his arms across his chest with victory already within reach.
