“Mr. Barrett is the manager at Swanson’s Group Pharmaceuticals, and he’s only in his early thirties. He’s definitely a rising star!”
“Oh wow, it’s Milo the manager! Everyone, he’s one of the pillars of Swanson family and Mr. Swanson’s right-hand man!”
“You guys probably don’t know this, but the Barrett family is also a wealthy clan with a net worth of 500 million dollars. They’ve been a solid partner for Swanson’s Group Pharmaceuticals for years and make profits of five to six hundred million annually.”
The Kaur family relatives crowded around Milo and praised him.
“Dad, what is going on?” Matteo frowned at Frank.
He had no idea that Milo liked Madeline.
Madeline was also surprised and didn’t understand what was happening.
Paulina exclaimed happily, “Ah! Mr. Barrett likes Madeline? That’s great news!”
“If only this happened last year before Madeline married that loser,” she continued.
Frank said calmly: “Matteo, Flynn has caused three major disasters since marrying into the family; each time could have destroyed us.'”
“This guy is like bad luck charm; let’s talk about this matter today during Paulina’s birthday party.”
“Madeline shouldn’t spend her life with such a loser; moreover, our family cannot fall into ruin because of him.”
“You’ve already married your daughter to him; they just need to divorce if they don’t get along.”
“That way you can fulfill your promise to Adrianna by letting them divorce,” Frank suggested further. “If you’re worried about Flynn starving after the divorce, we can give him tens of thousands as compensation money. I’ll pay for it myself.”
Everyone present nodded in agreement.
If Madeline married Milo instead, then the Kaur family would be able to use their connection with both the Barrett family and Swanson’s Group Pharmaceuticals to secure an endless stream of projects which would increase their annual bonuses significantly!
“Milo, are you sure you want trouble?” Flynn looked coldly at him while his eyes were filled with killing intent under his sharp eyebrows.
“Oh look who decided to show up? The useless waste himself!” Milo raised an eyebrow mockingly, “I like Madeline. I can make her happy while helping the Kaur family move forward. How does that spell trouble?”
The people from the Kaur family were all enraged when they heard Flynn threaten Milo.
In their eyes, Milo coming over had already brought glory upon the Kaur family.
How dared this loser threaten someone so important? He deserved death!
“What are you doing here, useless? Shut your mouth and wait for the leftovers!”
“The Barrett family is ten times stronger than the Kaur family. How dare a convict like you challenge such a prestigious person?”
“You have no skills, yet you value your pride so much that when someone mentions divorce, you get anxious! You have no say in this matter, so shut up!”
Flynn narrowed his eyes and said coldly, “I never wanted this marriage. If you force me to divorce, I don’t mind ending it today.”
He was tired of dealing with the Kaur family’s despicable behavior and saw this as an opportunity to break free.
Everyone laughed at him.
“Haha! You didn’t want it? Does that mean Madeline was too good for you? How shameless! You actually want to mooch off her but know that you can’t escape it, so now you’re trying to act tough!”
“He heard that Grandpa wanted to give him money and knew he couldn’t stay in the Kaur family any longer. He agreed just to save himself from starving outside because they won’t take care of him anymore.”
“This guy agreed too easily. He must know he’s not worthy of being with someone from the Kaur family. Just leave now before embarrassing yourself even more!”
“Brother-in-law…” Scarlet felt very upset but Flynn ignored her and walked straight towards the door.
“Stop right there!” Madeline suddenly stood up and shouted at Flynn’s back, “Are you even a man? Getting angry over a few words from others?”
“They’re relatives; everyone has the right to express their opinions but ultimately I make my own decisions.”
“I’m the one who can suggeste divorce. Today is Mom’s birthday; show me respect and sit down for dinner properly.”
Matteo also grabbed onto Flynn saying, “I will never let go of your marriage plans! Come on, sit next to me!”
He forcefully dragged Flynn over towards himself while addressing Frank, “Dad, this is my personal business; please stop interfering.”
“Mr. Barrett,” Matteo continued firmly, “Madeline is already married; please stop asking her hand in marriage again.”
Flynn tried standing up again only then did he notice Matteo’s hands were shaking violently while his lips turned purple-blue with anger.
He didn’t dare do anything rash anymore so he had no choice but comply with Matteo’s wishes.
Paulina knew that Matteo would be biased, but she couldn’t believe that Madeline didn’t agree with her. She poked her hard and whispered, “Are you out of your mind? This guy finally let go. Why are you still trying to pursue him?”
“He can’t compare to Mr. Barrett. If you marry Mr. Barrett, Charlotte’s family won’t bully us anymore!”
Madeline didn’t respond and looked at Flynn with disappointment in her eyes.
She knew Milo didn’t really want to marry her; he was only doing it for revenge for humiliating him at Fish Dragon Villa.
Frank’s face turned dark as he spoke coldly, “Matteo, aren’t you listening to what I’m saying? We don’t have to talk about divorce today, but this marriage must end within a month!”
“Hey! Forget it,” Milo waved his hand generously and smiled faintly. “Let’s not ruin the happy occasion.”
“I came here today mainly to celebrate Mrs. Kaur’s birthday.”
Milo’s intentions were clear; he just wanted to disgust and humiliate Flynn.
“They’re both useless. One is an idiot who spent over 10 million buying a piece of land just so he could cause trouble everywhere,” Charlotte leaned back with crossed arms looking at Madeline with disgust on her face.
“How do you talk to your parents? Do you want me teach you how be human again?” Flynn turned his head towards Charlotte.
Charlotte raised her eyebrows in anger wishing she could tear apart Flynn’s mouth.
The last time she knelt down and apologized for Flynn had become an unforgettable nightmare for her.
Frank said sternly, “Clark, if you want dinner, then shut up honestly. There is no place for your words here!”
After speaking, Frank greeted Milo smiling, “Mr. Barrett, sit next me and let’s drink some wine!”
“Mr. Barrett, you’re our distinguished guest today so don’t waste time on trash like him. We will all toast you later!”
“Don’t pay attention this garbage. Clark isn’t even worthy of being married let alone deserving of Madeline. Trust us. We’ll make sure Madeline divorces him within a month!”
Milo leaned close to Flynn’s ear and sneered softly, “You bastard! Today I will make sure that you lose all face.”
“If you know what’s good for you, apologize to Mr. Swanson and show some humility. That way, I can save face for you.”
