“What did you say? Frederick decided to let it go for the sake of Mr. Hill’s face. You’re taking advantage of the situation and asking Frederick for compensation?”
“Typical behavior! Don’t you know that leaving a way out for yourself is important?”
“This bastard’s blocking our way forward!”
The models were furious when they saw Flynn place his bank card on the table, thinking this guy was crazy.
Anybody else in this situation would have been grateful or at least scared, but Flynn was just being outrageous by asking Frederick for money.
Upon hearing Flynn’s words, even Frederick couldn’t help but pause and turn towards Marcel, “Mr. Hill, do you think I should compensate him?”
“I think it would be best if you paid up,” Marcel said with a bitter smile.
“Fine! Even if these things are new, they’re only worth about one million.”
“I’ll give you two million; use the rest to buy your coffin!”
Frederick picked up his bank card and finished transferring money before giving Flynn an angry glare as he left with the group of models.
“Mr. Clark, I apologize once again today for my lack of judgment; please forgive me,” Marcel bowed deeply and didn’t straighten up for quite some time.
As he bowed down like this, all hundred underlings outside also lowered their heads.
Scarlet was deeply shocked by this scene; she had only seen something like this in gangster movies: hundreds of men in suits bowing down together under their boss’ lead!
At that moment, Flynn wasn’t slouching anymore; he stood tall like a javelin with deep eyes filled with meaning.
Marcel was after all an entertainment industry tycoon who had many subordinates from different backgrounds whom he needed to keep good relationships with.
Frederick called for help, and Flynn understood that he couldn’t afford not to come.
“Alright, I understand that you have your reasons. Let’s not mention this matter again,” Flynn waved his hand.
Marcel felt relieved and quickly said, “Mr. Clark, I heard about the Swanson family estate a few days ago. I’m planning to invest 200 million in Ms. Sharp.”
“I also have a project that can make 20 million, and I want to give it to the Kaur family.”
He knew Flynn was supporting Rose, thinking it was profitable to invest 200 million. He also knew Flynn’s wife was Madeline and wanted to provide a project to the Kaur family.
“It’s your choice whom to invest in; there’s no need to inform me.”
“As for the things your subordinates smashed, have them clean up and find a renovation company to redo everything. I’ll cover the renovation costs.”
After giving instructions, Flynn turned and left the place.
Scarlet couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. Marcel was a powerful figure in Niarak, yet Flynn treated him like a servant. He didn’t seem to take Marcel seriously at all.
“Flynn, how strong are you really?” Scarlet asked as she linked her arm with his while they walked downstairs.
She had learned quite a bit today and felt pretty cool following around such an influential person like Flynn.
“I don’t know exactly how strong I am, but I consider myself second to none. No one dares claim first place,” Flynn replied nonchalantly with his hands in his pockets.
Scarlet rolled her eyes, not believing him at all. She playfully hit him on the arm and said, “You’re so full of yourself!”
“I didn’t go home last night, so I have to go back to the Kaur family now or my aunt will report me to my mom!”
“You can drive back up Plenilune Mountain; I’ll take a taxi,” she added quickly before hailing down a cab.
She hadn’t gone home all night and Paulina would definitely nag at her about it. Plus, living with Flynn while he was still married wasn’t ideal either. Most importantly though, she had been too forward these past few days and needed to pull back on their flirtation game for now.
Flynn didn’t try stopping her from leaving; instead he drove himself back up Plenilune Mountain.
He had promised to give Callie a gift, intending to paint a landscape picture of mountains, rivers, flowers, and the moon to send to her.
With ink and vigorous strokes, he created a magnificent scene. Flynn was quite satisfied and hung the painting to dry. By the time he finished, it was already dark outside.
At that moment, Rose called him.
“Come out for a drink at Zero Point Bar!”
Flynn was momentarily stunned and exclaimed, “Ms. Sharp isn’t planning to use me for something again, is she?!”
He knew that unusual circumstances often had hidden motives, and Rose inviting him for a drink out of the blue definitely spelled trouble.
“What do you take me for? There’s a problem with inviting you for a drink? Hurry up and come out!” Rose’s words were icy, carrying an unquestionable tone. Without waiting for Flynn to respond, she hung up the phone.
“This woman… she’s driving me crazy!”
“No, I have to call her back and give her a piece of my mind. Who invites someone out and then uses a commanding tone?”
“Besides, can you at least tell me where Zero Point Bar is located?”
Flynn redialed the phone number but it was busy, which only made him angrier.
However, since it was getting late and he didn’t want Rose to be alone at the bar, he reluctantly took a taxi to Zero Point Bar.
Annoyed as he sat down next to Rose with her cold and arrogant expression, Flynn felt like slamming her head onto the table or even hanging her up by the neck for punishment!
“Madeline went to Energence Pharmaceuticals today and asked if I wanted that land in Ponocord Bay. I bought it at full price.”
Rose handed over a contract without saying much. “This is the contract. Transfer 3 million dollars into my account and you can have the land.”
Flynn was stunned for quite some time after hearing this news before finally sighing helplessly. “Since the Kaur family has no financial luck left, keep it for yourself then. Ponocord Bay will be developed.”
“At that time, 3 million will turn into 100 million.” .
“I only want to regain those five pharmaceutical companies lost by Sharp’s Group; I’m not interested in anything else!” she continued indifferently.
“And I don’t want to take advantage of your wife while she’s vulnerable!”
Flynn didn’t say anything more; instead he transferred money over to Rose’s account as requested.
After confirming receipt of payment from Flynn, Rose continued speaking, “When Madeline came looking for me today, she seemed restless with an anxious look on her face. She must have encountered something difficult.”
“Did she mention anything specific?”
“Nope. She doesn’t trust me nor does she ever come looking for me willingly when there are problems,” Flynn shook his head with a hint of helplessness in his eyes.
Seeing this, Rose stopped talking about other people’s affairs, and changed topic, “Bone-Cleansing Pill will undergo its second clinical trial tomorrow. If everything goes well, it can be approved for market release.”
“What are your plans regarding the Energence Pharmaceuticals?”
Today marked completion of their first clinical trial, and results were very promising.
This was also why Rose wanted to relax with a drink at the bar. New drugs were like fresh blood. They could revive an enterprise, give them fame and attract investments. Bone-Cleansing Pill was her weapon against rival companies. Even if they couldn’t kill off their competitors, it would still make them suffer.
“I’d like hear your thoughts first,” Flynn knew that Rose had ideas of her own, but just needed confirmation from him because she wasn’t confident enough in herself yet.
Rose took a sip of her drink and got straight to the point, “The Niarak annual pharmaceutical product exchange is happening the day after tomorrow, and I want to go advertise our products there.”
“But, I heard that the Swanson family will also be promoting their Acebegron Clear Relief,” she continued.
“On the surface, it’s an exchange event, but it’s also a competition of strength. The Swanson family will bring in celebrities and famous doctors to promote their products,” Rose explained.
“I’m afraid they’ll steal our thunder if we go there,” she added with concern.
Flynn nodded calmly and reassured her, “Don’t worry, there won’t be any problems. You focus on managing Energence Pharmaceuticals while I handle the famous doctors and celebrities!”
As soon as he finished speaking, several well-dressed men and women approached them. They saw an empty table behind Rose and walked over to sit down without hesitation.
“Hey! Move your chair forward a bit! I can’t fit!” yelled a fat man who was holding his own chair next to her.
This man had a face full of meaty flesh with scars all over his arms – he weighed at least 300 pounds!
He kicked Rose’s chair so hard that she almost fell forward onto the table!
