“Why do I need to prove myself? Fate is all about the word ‘fate.’ I’ve explained it, but she doesn’t believe me,” Flynn said.
“Besides, I don’t have any feelings for her, and she doesn’t like me,” he continued.
“Why should I act like a lapdog and try to prove myself? Isn’t it better to wait quietly for fate to take its course and support each other?”
Flynn never had such thoughts.
Scarlet’s eyes glinted with excitement after hearing Flynn’s words.
It seemed that Madeline and Flynn’s union was a mistake. After confirming their thoughts again, Scarlet became even more convinced of her beliefs. However…
There will be a day when the truth came out. If Madeline ended this relationship only to realize Flynn’s abilities later on, would she regret it?
“Hmm? Rose is here too?” Scarlet thought about how to speed up conquering Flynn while catching sight of Rose in the corner of her eye.
Rose had a brocade box on the table in front of her. She wore a bright red dress that showed off her tall figure but stood alone in the corner despite being someone who could attract many people with just one glance at any other time.
Sipping wine from small glasses made her look lonely yet still exuded an icy demeanor that kept others away from approaching or talking with her as if they were strangers passing by without notice.
“Ms. Sharp has too high an attitude. Now that she has started a company, she should interact more with people and attract investments,” Scarlet shook her head as she spoke.
Flynn replied indifferently, “Now the Swanson’s Group dominates everything. Rose is seen as an inevitable failure among everyone else.”
“Who would want to associate themselves with someone who will soon have nothing left?”
After Rose caused chaos at the Swanson’s Group estate, news quickly spread throughout Niarak City.
Although overnight success came along for Rose – gaining companies, teams and investors – in their eyes, this was just temporary fame which wouldn’t last long before fading away.
Even Paulina didn’t believe it let alone anyone else.
Flynn walked over shaking his head while Scarlet wisely stayed behind not wanting anything related business-wise between them two.
Just then Braiden appeared next to Rose wearing bright blue suit and glasses looking very polite. He was followed by another man around 20 years old wearing Armani plaid single-breasted suit and walking confidently. That showed he’d been trained well since young age.
“Oh! Ms. Sharp you’re here too!” Braiden smirked, revealing a cold smile.
Rose was lost in thought when she heard the familiar and disgusting voice. She frowned but didn’t turn around.
“Let me introduce you!” Braiden didn’t care and stood in front of Rose, pointing to the burly man.
“This is my friend Ismael Cox, son of the owner of Unmatched Boxing Gym. His martial arts are much stronger than those of Heath.”
“Ismael, this is…”
“No need for introductions,” Ismael waved his hand dismissively with a sinister tone. “Rose Sharp’s name is known by everyone in Niarak!”
“I heard she acquired Davies’ Pharmaceuticals and brought in millions of investments. She’s famous these days!”
“They say Ms. Sharp’s bones are harder than men’s, but we don’t know how long that will last this time.”
Ismael scanned Rose from head to toe before his greedy eyes settled on her stunningly beautiful yet aloof face.
He couldn’t help but feel a stirring desire as he revealed his covetousness.
A hint of disgust flashed across Rose’s eyes as she said calmly, “I heard Mr. Cox has a good relationship with Luca from Dragon Gate Group since childhood and can break chopsticks with one kick.”
“I hope Mr. Cox stays hard all the way through. Otherwise, he’ll have to go underground with Luca!”
Ismael had close ties with Luca. Before the Sharp Group went bankrupt, Luca often brought him along to cause trouble at the Sharp Group.
Rose even suspected that it was someone from the Unmatched Boxing Gym who attacked her when Sage took the hit for her last time.
When Ismael heard this remark, his face darkened as he said coldly, “Rose, don’t get too cocky! Lilia Hussain from the Dragon Gate Group has arrived in Niarak.”
“She has started investigating Luca’s death. Although the Johnston family claimed it was an accident caused by car crash, we all know that it had something to do with your dog you raised!”
“If we find evidence against you or Clark, then there will be no place left for either one!”
Rose paused briefly before sneering, “Luca did many evil things over the years and made many enemies.”
“If you want to investigate this matter thoroughly, then you’ll have your work cut out for you!”
“But if killing me is what you’re after, then there’s no need for evidence, right?”
“You’re welcome to try though I’m afraid disappointment may be waiting for you at every turn.”
Ismael gave a cold laugh, “You have a dog that bites people so what’s there really worth being proud about?”
“Don’t worry. I’ll pull out all its teeth so hopefully next time around maybe even you can laugh about it!”
Rose remained silent, taking a sip of her red wine with a look of disdain in her eyes. She had witnessed Flynn beat Scarface into a bloody mist with just a few strikes, and watched as he stood still and casually punched Heath’s insides until they turned to blood.
Rose didn’t know the extent of Flynn’s martial arts skills, but she was certain that Ismael couldn’t win against him.
Braiden shook his head and sneered at Rose. “Why bother, Rose? Your looks have already recovered. You could marry someone wealthy.”
“Why do something so foolish as to throw an egg at a rock? What’s the point?” .
“Oh?” Rose raised an eyebrow with a smirk on her lips. “I wonder why Mr. Swanson resorted to such low tactics to ruin my factory’s geomancy?”
“So you’re afraid?” Braiden’s face darkened as he scoffed. “That Flynn may know some martial arts and geomancy doesn’t mean anything.”
“When it comes to masters, I can take down anyone with ease.”
“As for geomancy, my people have already cut off the veins under your factory grounds! Energence Pharmaceuticals is now nothing more than dead land! You don’t stand a chance!”
“I admire heroes like you,” Braiden continued after pausing for effect. “Join me as my subordinate and help me dominate the Ostrad pharmaceutical industry! I don’t want you losing too badly!”
Rose didn’t respond but chuckled while shaking her head; they underestimated Flynn too much – even reaching contemptuous levels.
After Flynn buried the dragon pillar underground in lotus formation, Rose invited another geomancy master who praised it highly. However, Braiden was childish enough not to realize that he had no way out – which was quite comical!
“Make Rose your subordinate? Is your face big enough for that?” Flynn strolled over leisurely while taunting Braiden.
Braiden glared at him angrily when he saw how carefree Flynn appeared before him. Everyone else would be polite around him because he was worth billions due to being part of the Swanson family – yet this guy acted like he owned everything!
Braiden was used to flattery from others. Encountering someone like Flynn would surely make his temper flare up instantly!
“Heh-heh… speak of the devil.” He laughed sarcastically before continuing, “A dog barks when it sees its owner coming home – what good dog you are! Ms. Sharp should reward you with some bones.”
Ismael’s eyes were as cold as ice, and all that rose in them was a murderous intent aimed at Flynn.
“Hmm?” Flynn furrowed his brows upon hearing this and fanned his nose twice in front of Rose. “Did you smell that? Someone just farted, it stinks like a ten-year-old cesspool. It’s choking!”
As soon as he said this, Ismael was so angry that his nose almost twisted.
Just as he was about to get angry, Flynn pinched his nose with disgust and said, “Don’t talk! Your breath smells like shit, it’s disgusting!”
“I really don’t understand why your parents couldn’t take a ten-minute walk outside.”
“They didn’t create something like you! You’re just as smelly as an outhouse!”
“You…” Ismael pointed at Flynn’s nose but before he could say anything else, Flynn interrupted him again. “I’m being polite by talking to you. What does baring your teeth mean?”
Flynn turned to Braiden and said nonchalantly, “Can’t you do something about him?”
After hearing the barrage of insults from Flynn, Rose almost burst out laughing but managed to compose herself enough to say, “Flynn, don’t be so vulgar when speaking.”
“Vulgar?” Flynn shrugged indifferently. “You have to speak this way when dealing with someone who takes selfies for family portraits.”
It took Ismael a while before he understood what had been said. He almost passed out from anger and gritted his teeth, “All you know how to do is talk. Let’s have a competition! I guarantee I’ll beat you up so badly that you won’t be able to speak properly!”
Flynn shook his head and replied, “How can I compare myself with a dog? Am I going down on all fours biting you?”
“No comparison?” Suppressing his anger forcefully with a cold smile on his face, Ismael looked towards the brocade box on the table asking, “This is Ms. Sharp’s gift for Miss Pearce right? Let me see!”
He snatched Rose’s brocade box away from her hand crushing it into pieces with one loud bang!
Ismael spread both hands apart while the fragments of the brocade box fell onto the ground making noise everywhere then challenged Flynn provocatively saying, “Ms. Sharp, sorry for breaking your gift.”
“Why not let this dog bite me twice?”
