“Did I tell you that you could leave?” Sage’s face was frosty.
The staff present looked on with amusement, thinking Flynn was too arrogant and hoping Sage would teach him a lesson.
Flynn said indifferently, “What do you want to do?”
“What do I want to do?” Sage sneered coldly. “I suggest we have a competition. If you chicken out, show your cowardice!”
“Kneel down now and crawl out of Energence Pharmaceuticals’ security department. I’ll forgive you this time.”
“If there’s another time, I’ll fire you and knock out two of your front teeth!”
He crossed his arms over his chest and looked down at Flynn with a fierce expression.
Flynn shook his head and said, “You misunderstand me. I’m just suggesting that you don’t do this because I’m afraid you’re not good enough to fight me.”
“I’m not good enough to fight?” Sage couldn’t believe it and laughed at the others, “Do you hear what he’s saying? This kid says that I’m not good enough for him!”
Everyone joined in the mockery, “Mr. Blevins can lift weights. He can protect Ms. Sharp from five assassins single-handedly! How could he say that Mr. Blevins is not good enough for him?”
“This kid is too arrogant! Mr. Blevins could beat the shit out of him with one hand!”
“He might be a martial arts master who can boast a lot! Haha…”
The staff present were excited by the prospect of seeing a good show; they naturally sided with Sage but ridiculed Flynn.
“I don’t want to waste my breath on you anymore,” Sage challenged Flynn provocatively by beckoning towards him, “Let’s have a competition.”
He took up military boxing posture in mid-air before performing two standard spinning kicks.
As soon as his foot lifted off the ground, it created an impressive gust of wind which drew exclamations from everyone around them who retreated several steps back to make way for them.
Flynn remained calm without any change in expression, “Fancy footwork!”
Not only did this statement cause Sage’s face color to change dramatically but also other staff members turned pale as well.
They usually relied on military boxing as their foundation for fitness training. What did Flynn mean by saying that everyone here was rubbish?
One should know oneself well; being stubborn at such times would only make people look down upon themselves.
“You’re so great then why don’t you come forward? Show some skills against Mr. Blevins! What use is there in just talking big?” The crowd felt very dissatisfied inside their hearts shouting loudly together.
“Stupid, looking for death!” Sage couldn’t hold back his anger and rushed forward with a shout.
His skills were several times stronger than an ordinary person, and his movements were extremely sharp.
Whether it was a downward chop or a side kick, they were simple yet powerful.
If he kicked someone in the head, they would definitely pass out.
But in Flynn’s eyes, Sage was just like a jumping grasshopper that didn’t interest him at all.
Flynn continuously let him perform several side kicks and high leg lifts.
Sage felt like he was being played with and used all his strength to perform a fierce tiger pounce.
He stretched out both hands like embracing a big tree, leaped towards Flynn to capture him alive.
Flynn shook his head and lifted his leg as if chopping down with an axe on the mountain top.
Sage was shocked. He protected himself by putting both hands over his head but still fell heavily in front of Flynn!
Flynn’s kick came down like thousands of pounds of boulders from the sky.
If it weren’t for thirty years of martial arts training and strong physical fitness, Sage would have been wheelchair-bound for life. Even so, Sage still felt pain in his knees and ribs; bones should have been broken too!
“This…” Everyone present stared wide-eyed.
Their eyeballs almost popped out. They saw clearly that Flynn had kept both hands behind him without moving throughout the whole fight against Sage. In other words, Flynn stood motionless while letting Sage attack five or six times before winning with one casual downward chop?
Sage was such an expert who can take on five people alone! Thirty years of martial arts training but lost with one move?
“This guy… he’s too damn strong… we probably wouldn’t be able to beat him even if we attacked together!”
Waves of shock surged through everyone’s hearts; there wasn’t any disrespect left anymore.
Meanwhile, Flynn had already left the security department office building, heading straight towards CEO’s office building. He thought spending even one second more on Sage was just wasteful!
As soon as he arrived at CEO’s office building, Flynn saw Rose walking out accompanied by two geomancy masters. Rose noticed Flynn coming over, she paused slightly then smiled at two geomancy masters saying, “Master Delgado, you go ahead first, I’ll talk to Flynn.”
“It’s time you talk!” Joshua smiled stiffly when he saw Flynn appear, and said to Rose, “Mr. Blevins told me you arranged for him to join Security Department?”
“Ah! This kid is too young, his temper is not too good. He just quarreled with Mr. Blevins earlier.”
“All right. Let us go downstairs first.”
Zakariya still had no expression on his face, as if nothing in the outside world could affect him. He exuded an air of detachment and superiority.
With Joshua accompanying her, Rose went to the northwest corner of the factory area.
“Ms… Ms. Sharp…” The secretary rushed over in a panic, but stopped herself when she saw Flynn.
“Flynn is not a stranger,” Rose said calmly.
The secretary stuttered, “… Flynn broke Mr. Blevins’ ribs and shattered his knee. It will take at least six months for him to recover.”
“Oh, tell Mr. Blevins to rest well and we’ll cover all medical expenses. His salary will continue even if he takes a long time off work,” Rose said coolly.
“In addition, I propose appointing Flynn as acting the head of security while Mr. Blevins is recovering from his injuries.”
Rose’s face showed no surprise; she already knew what would happen.
Flynn’s face darkened and he sneered, “Ms. Sharp, you have mastered the art of using others to do your dirty work!”
He finally understood what was going on around Rose – there were hidden dangers everywhere that required 100% vigilance from security personnel with no room for slackness or complacency.
Sage saved Rose’s life once and often boasted about it, which violated leadership taboos – he became arrogant and thought himself invincible because of it.
These two traits alone made Sage unsuitable for being head of security.
But since Sage had saved Rose before, not letting him become one would hurt many people’s feelings and give him an ungrateful reputation.
Rose knew Flynn’s temper well enough to understand Sage’s character better than anyone else did.
So she used tough tactics by getting rid of Sage through Flynn’s hands.
Thinking about this now made Flynn feel very unhappy and wronged; he felt like this woman was manipulating him!
