“This afternoon, we will have someone come and adjust the geomancy, and we have decided to rename Davies’ Pharmaceuticals as Energence Pharmaceuticals.”
“I see you spent 17 million to buy that land in Ponocord Bay. Are you planning on using it as a source for Energence Pharmaceuticals?” Rose’s voice was cold and forceful, causing Flynn to raise an eyebrow.
“The purchase of Davies’ Pharmaceuticals has already used up Kevin’s money. I bought that land with my own funds, so it has nothing to do with Energence Pharmaceuticals.”
“Ponocord Bay is going to be developed into a scenic area in the future. I’m holding onto it until its value goes up.”
Flynn knew Rose wasn’t one to gossip, but he told her about this anyway.
Rose misunderstood Kevin for killing her mother and never went to Demon Island or even called him once. Even though she now knew everything was done by the Stewart family, ten years of estrangement cannot disappear overnight. Plus, Kevin missed his wife all year round and with the harsh environment on Demon Island, he didn’t have much time left.
Flynn decided that buying the factory would be credited towards Kevin; this would bring them closer together as father-daughter relationships went.
There was a pause on the other end of the phone before Rose asked, “Is Ponocord Bay really going through development? Is this news true?”
“Yes! The city development document should be coming out soon,” Flynn replied.
Rose didn’t seem too surprised after hearing this news; she changed the subject quickly, “What are your plans for helping me next?”
“After yesterday’s declaration of war against them, you will become a thorn in their side,” Flynn said.
“I need a position where I can protect you at any time.”
“These past few days I’ve been working on creating a formula similar to Swanson Group’s Acebegron Clear Relief which Katrina’s team will purify once completed.”
“Once Energence Pharmaceutical’s new drug hits shelves, then both sides can start fighting properly.”
“In that case why not work in security?” After thinking for some time, Rose asked, “Did you really make Minor Energy-Enhancing Pill?”
“Ms. Sharp, if you want all of Sharp Group back, then trust me 100%,” Flynn sneered after hearing her question.
“I’m already taking care of adjusting our factory area’s geomancy so just manage things within the company.”
“Do we need new equipment or add more production lines? Once our new drug comes out it’ll hit shelves immediately so let’s not waste too much time here.”
The voice on the phone was cold and indifferent. “Professionals should do their job, you should focus on your formula and not worry about the geomancy.”
“I’ve already found someone geomancy Master Delgado Delgado and Zakariya Knight,” Rose said assertively, speaking without hesitation.
Without giving Flynn a chance to explain, she hung up the phone.
“Hey sis, I at least fixed your face. Can’t you be a little gentler?” Flynn looked at the disconnected phone with annoyance. “Is this woman made of ice? No emotions! Whoever marries her will end up living like a monk!”
Rose’s demeanor was too cold for Flynn’s liking. He suspected that if a man married her, he might suddenly lose his mojo in bed.
The Kaur family was anxious as Matteo called everyone he knew who could talk to the mayor but no one dared to help them out.
Just when they were getting restless, Flynn walked in with a contract in hand which surprised them all.
They never expected him to actually go to the hospital or bring back a contract.
Paulina thought for a while before saying, “There’s nothing special about it. Blaze went too far by buying Ponocord Bay land and wanting Madeline to accompany him abroad.”
“Bryant is biased and doesn’t distinguish right from wrong,” she continued. “Mr. Richardson didn’t want things blown out of proportion so he kept it quiet.”
Matteo breathed out heavily as if relieved, “Anyway, we have the contract now so this matter is finally over.”
“Flynn, why don’t you find yourself some work? It’s not good just wandering around all day causing trouble!”
He believed that Flynn caused trouble because he had too much free time on his hands.
Flynn scratched his head, “Well Mr. Kaur, I’ve joined Energence Pharmaceuticals security department now.”
“Security department? Isn’t that just another name for security guards?” Paulina sneered while Madeline frowned but then relaxed again after thinking about it more carefully.
Given Flynn’s character, it seemed like being a security guard was probably his only option anyway.
Matteo, however, seemed pleased with this news and encouraged him, “Good! As long as you have work ethic, you’ll be fine. No matter what job you do, you’ll learn something new from your boss!”
“But wait, Niarak doesn’t seem to have an Energence Pharmaceuticals company, right? Is it located outside of town?”
Flynn smiled and explained, “Energence Pharmaceuticals is just Davies’ Pharmaceuticals. Rose changed the company name.”
“Rose?” Madeline frowned thoughtfully. “I heard she acquired Davies’ Pharmaceuticals and raised $1 billion in funding. Katrina’s team also joined her.”
“But the Swanson family, Woods family, and Dragon Gate won’t sit idly by. Her enterprise probably won’t last long.”
“You should find a stable company to work for!”
Matteo was taken aback and also sighed, “They have been at odds with the Sharp family for a long time. Rose’s days will not be easy. She may not even be able to withstand their financial criticism.”
“That woman is too stubborn! If she had agreed to let them invest in her company back then, she wouldn’t have fallen this far,” Paulina sneered.
“The wise adapt themselves to circumstances as water molds itself to the pitcher. If Rose had half of Madeline’s ability, she would have become a billionaire long ago.”
Flynn shook his head lightly and said calmly, “With me around, Rose won’t go bankrupt.”
The Kaur family members were all stunned when they heard this.
“With you around? Who do you think you are?” Paulina almost laughed out loud. “You’re just a lowly security guard! Even Rose doesn’t care about you; let alone the Swanson Group!”
“What an arrogant little man!”
Madeline warned Flynn not to show off if he went out with Rose, because if he offended some big shots, Rose couldn’t protect him.
“Enough! Flynn just got a job. Don’t dampen his enthusiasm,” Matteo waved his hand dismissively. “We’ve got Rhinowares Group’s project now – we can earn 10 million dollars from it – Madeline can get 5 million bonus.”
“Thanks to Flynn for standing up for me in front of my father. Paulina, go buy some groceries. I want to have a drink with him!” Today, Flynn caused a stir, but it was ultimately resolved. Madeline, seldom showing a smile, expressed her gratitude to Flynn.
“After completing the Rhinowares Group project, not only will it alleviate the crisis for the family, but it will also generate some profits. I’ll find a few more projects, and the company’s profit target for this year will be achieved.”
The setback in investing in the Davies’ Pharmaceuticals nearly caused a upheaval for the Kaur family, and there were some criticisms within the family towards Madeline. Now that things had finally settled down, they can consider other investments.
“It’s no big deal, no need to be so polite,” Flynn said casually.
Paulina snorted. “It’s all about connections. Otherwise, how could you have gotten the contract?”
“If we didn’t get the contract, Madeline wouldn’t even be able to keep her CEO position, let alone any dividends.”
“You’re acting like you did us a favor! Shameless!” Paulina retorted.
