“Rose, do you know how funny you are?” Milo laughed at Rose’s declaration and sneered, “Your words were like a rabbit baring its teeth at a tiger, completely ineffective.”
“It would be better if you didn’t talk so much nonsense. Otherwise, when you lose miserably, you’ll be embarrassed!”
With so many entrepreneurs investing in the Swanson’s Group business alliance and Layla supporting them, they wanted to crush Rose like a dragon swallowing a sparrow.
Braiden shook his head and sighed. “Ms. Sharp, you said it too early. It’s true that you have the funds and team,” he said.
“But developing competitive drugs takes at least several years of time!”
“If you acknowledge me as your superior and accept my constraints, I can give you some room to survive.”
“Otherwise, don’t expect to make it that far!”
Developing new drugs is a long process that not only burns money but also takes time and effort.
It requires great effort to develop new drugs for several years or more.
Flynn indifferently said, “If you knew about the Sharp family motto, then what was just said would seem ridiculous!”
“I’m giving the floor back to you now. If you acknowledge Rose as your superior, then I can give you some room to survive.”
“Otherwise your remaining days will be spent paying off debts.”
Braiden’s face instantly turned black with rage as he shouted, “Do I need your permission to speak? Who do you think you are?”
“You’re so awesome? Why don’t we see if you can whip up some medicine right here on site?”
“If it works out, then I’ll respect you! If not then get lost!” He couldn’t stand Flynn anymore.
This guy had been provoking him constantly in his ear which was driving him crazy!
Flynn couldn’t be bothered with Braiden anymore; he nonchalantly replied, “If I made medicine in front of everyone, wouldn’t that just let someone steal it like Dragon Bone Pill?”
“Kid,” Flynn continued “you think I’m humiliating you but actually trying save you!”
Braiden was almost fainting from anger. As an important member of the Swanson family, he had been humiliated by an ex-convict who had just come out of prison multiple times!
Layla couldn’t bear watching any longer and walked over next Flynn saying calmly, “You don’t need take Rose’s side for revenge against me because even if you stop now, fifty years won’t catch up.”
Flynn could not help but feel speechless. Where did this woman’s sense of superiority come from?
Layla continued, “Don’t think about these childish things anymore. Just honestly guard your own land well and live happily ever after.”
“You can’t change the ending of the Sharp’s Group, and you won’t even be able to lay a finger on me,” Layla said arrogantly.
“We’re not from the same world,” she added.
“I’m at the top of the mountain.”
“And you… are still in the valley at its base.”
“Your behavior right now is very childish, boring, and pathetic!” Layla’s proud gaze swept over Flynn, leaving behind an air of indifference.
Flynn couldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head. “I don’t know where your confidence comes from.”
“I helped the Sharp’s Group regain everything they lost. How did it become about you?”
“You’re thinking too much! It was just a promise I made to Kevin! Whether or not you call off your engagement has no effect on me!” Flynn retorted.
Everyone who saw Layla approach Flynn for a conversation was slightly surprised.
“Call off your engagement? I heard Ms. Woods had an engagement with the Clark family in Slatin. Is this man in front of us him?” someone whispered in surprise.
“He supports Rose so much that he must want to compete with Dr. Woods after being dumped by a woman himself. It’s not glorious at all!” another person sneered mockingly.
“What’s wrong with being dumped by Dr. Woods? He should feel honored to have been engaged to her! There isn’t any man in this world who deserves Dr. Woods!” yet another person chimed in.
Listening to the mockery around him, Flynn just sneered.
Rose, upon hearing this, was slightly surprised. She hadn’t expected the connection between Flynn, Layla, and the Clark family, let alone that Flynn was the abandoned son of the Clark family.
“If you don’t have any ability, then you shouldn’t have agreed to take care of Rose for Kevin or give her hope,” Layla continued calmly. “The Swanson family and Dragon Gate are allies; we won’t sit back and watch the Sharp family rise up.”
“If you persist like this, then don’t blame me for showing no mercy,” she warned sternly.
Flynn shrugged indifferently before laughing again. “Although it doesn’t matter whether you help or not, I did acknowledge your efforts in the first two instances. Here’s a suggestion, considering your misguided attempts to assist me.”
“Convince Dragon Gate and the Swanson family to withdraw from the Sharp’s Group’s assets. Go back to your own territory and stop scheming against the Sharp’s Group!”
“The same goes for you; don’t think about competing with me because you’re too weak!”
Layla found Flynn’s words particularly amusing.
Flynn was just a discarded son, who had spent ten years in prison and now was nothing but an unwanted son-in-law.
What could he possibly do to compete with them? He had no outstanding qualities, so how could he shine like the sun?
“Ms. Woods is too kind-hearted. She probably feels guilty about breaking off the engagement and wants to persuade him not to throw himself into danger,” someone said.
“That kind of person won’t listen because anger has clouded his judgment. He wants to regain his pitiful self-esteem without realizing that it’s worth nothing in Dr. Woods’ eyes,” another replied.
“This guy has no shame and doesn’t know where he stands, just like a princess rejecting a peasant’s proposal. You can only be powerless and angry with no way out!”
After learning about Flynn’s background, all the elites present looked down on him.
They thought he was just an irrational man blinded by anger!
He could only follow Rose into oblivion, dying in the corner with impotent rage!
Braiden thoroughly exposed Flynn through River and showed contempt when he finally knew who Flynn really was.
“I wondered why this jumping clown was so happy earlier! It turns out that you want to impress Ms. Woods!” Braiden sneered.
“Just blowing hot air is enough for Ms. Woods to look at you differently? How can you still have the face to show up after falling this low?”
Braiden snorted disdainfully without even bothering looking at Flynn.
Milo also spoke coldly, “Ms. Woods is Green Liniment Ghost Doctor Lennon Porter’s disciple, the Woods family’s heiress with exceptional medical skills.”
“And you are just the Clark family’s abandoned child who spent ten years in prison before becoming the Kaur family’s unwanted son-in-law.”
“You’re nothing but an insignificant ant who should lick your pathetic wounds in darkness while dying slowly from impotent rage!”
“Underestimate myself?” Flynn’s face instantly froze as if there were volcanic eruptions inside him; taking one step forward while staring at Milo coldly, “The Woods family is fragile as glass!”
“If I insist on marrying her despite calling off our engagement, she will marry me whether she likes it or not!”
“As for Layla being a divine doctor – it’s laughable; according to seniority rules she should call me master!”
