Dave POV
It’s another new day. Although I’m kind of upset that Mr Adams postponed the day he was supposed to transfer us to a new house.
Oh well, who am I to oppose? It’s not my money and it’s not my house.
“Good morning mother.” I said to my mother immediately she woke up.
“Good morning son. You’re getting ready for work already?” She asked.
“Yes mother. I’m afraid I might not have time for breakfast today because I don’t think I have enough time to go and buy it.” I replied.
“That’s why I am your mother. Don’t worry. I’ll get it for you.” She said.
“Thanks a million.” I replied.
She left the house and went on her way as I continued preparing.
Anna POV
I’ll definitely not let my son go to work on an empty stomach. Not when I know that there is enough money for food.
That reminds me. What about his boss? He was supposed to come yesterday wasn’t he? I guess I have to ask Dave when he returns from work today. No time for us to discuss it this morning.
Dave’s boss has really done a lot for us. I just wish I could meet such a great man in person.
“Oh no. Not that fool again.” I said to myself when I saw that same drunk that has made it his life’s work to stalk me.
This is really getting on my nerves.
“Hi baby. He said while standing beside his car.
I wish I had seen him earlier. I would have avoid this road. I was just so lost in thought.
I ignored his greeting and continued to walk. He is so stubborn. Why is he following me? I hate this. I just wish I could disappear and appear at home with my son and give him his breakfast.
“I’m Adams.” He said.
I continued walking.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
I still gave him no response.
“Wow. You’re playing hard to get right?” He said.
“Mr man, leave my way!” I yelled after he blocked my way.
“Calm down babe. I can give you anything you want. I gat the money. Just be mine.” He said.
“Never.” I replied and pushed him out of my way.
“Come on babe. Why are you like this?” He asked.
He stopped following me. I got to the shop and bought what I needed. When I got a bit distant from the shop he continued to follow me.
What is this man’s problem?
“Why are you following me?” I stopped to ask.
“Can I at least have your number?” He asked.
“Okay.” I answered and gave him my number.
He dialed the number and my phone rang.
“See you later babe.” He said and rushed into his car then drove off.
He seemed to be in a hurry. And by the way he dressed, I’m guessing he was late for work.
He must really take me to be some sort of a fool to just give him my number.
I reached home and dropped the food on the side of the floor we normally ate.
“What took you so long mother? I’ve been waiting for you. It’s a good thing Mr Charles hasn’t arrived.” Dave said.
“Sorry about that son.” I replied.
“Let’s eat.” I added and we began to eat.
I suddenly remembered what happened yesterday with Hilton and his mother and thought that maybe I should tell Dave.
No no no. It would make Dave worry. And if I tell him he might not be able to concentrate on his job.
“Mother.” I heard Dave say.
“Yes?” I answered.
“What are you thinking about?” He asked.
“Oh. Nothing son.” I replied.
“You’ve been holding your spoon towards your mouth for the past five minutes.” He said.
“I guess I must have wondered off.” I replied.
“Can you help be block a number in my phone?” I asked him.
“Sure.” He replied and I gave him the phone and pointed the man’s number who was following me.
“Any problem?” I asked when I saw him pause for some time.
Dave POV
I collected my mother’s phone to block the number she said I should. I was shocked to see Mr Adams’ phone number.
How could she tell me to block it and how did she get it anyway?
“Any problem?” She asked me.
“Uh… No mother. Not at all.” I replied.
I don’t think I want to end up interrogating her so I just did as she said and gave her the phone.
“Thank you.” She said.
Just then Mr Charles arrived and I left with him in the car.
Hilton POV
I can’t believe I’m actually leaving now.
I turned around and looked at my home. I’ll really miss this place. And how can I leave without saying goodbye to Dave? I don’t know why my dad doesn’t want me to meet him one last time. I’ve really begged and begged but all to no avail. How could dad be this mean to me?
Dave’s mother said that my dad gave Dave my number burn I’m very sure that’s its fake.
Goodbye Dave. If we are truly best of friends then our paths will surely cross in the future.
I entered the car and the driver took me to the airport.
I got an idea. Maybe I can give Dave my number through the driver.
“Um… Sir… Can you do me a favour?” I asked.
“Sure.” He replied.
“You know my friend Dave right?” I asked.
“Yes.” He replied.
“Can you please give this to him?” I asked, giving the driver my number in a paper.
“No problem. I will.” He replied.
“Thank you very much sir.” I said with all happiness.
I never thought it would actually be this simple.
I went into the plane and it took off some minutes after.
Dave POV
I finally have time to myself. Mr Adams just gave me a time out.
I relaxed my back on my seat and got comfortable.
Wait, I almost forgot. I have Hilton’s number but I haven’t called him since then. I’ll call him now.
I took my phone from my pocket and dialed Hilton’s number. It rang and he picked the call. At first I didn’t hear his voice.
Oh of course I’m supposed to speak first. I’m just so excited to speak to him.
“Hello.” I said.
Why isn’t he responding?
“Hello.” A voice said but it wasn’t Hilton’s.
