Charlotte was acting like a thug.
Flynn turned to Frank and asked, “What do you think, Grandpa?”
Frank turned his head away and ignored him, obviously biased.
“How can you take a joke seriously? Besides, the old man didn’t promise to testify. Why take it so seriously?”
“Charlotte is now the CEO. If you make her recognize you as her father, what kind of image will that give off?”
“Forgive others for their mistakes. Don’t you understand this principle? You’re always small-minded and can never achieve anything big!”
Madeline listened to the high-level discussion and felt extremely cold inside.
Just now Charlotte had been aggressive and wanted to use their bet as a way to humiliate them.
If she won, she would definitely use this matter to embarrass Flynn.
In the end Flynn won but Charlotte refused to pay up. It was simply shameless!
Frank turned a blind eye while the company’s top executives sided with Charlotte. It was truly chilling!
Madeline advised Flynn, “Let it go; she’ll never back down.”
Flynn sneered at Charlotte and said, “If there’s no evidence of your claim then it didn’t happen!”
Charlotte stubbornly raised her head and arrogantly declared, “That’s right! Everyone is on my side! You have no proof even if a judge comes!”
“I can even sue you for defamation and have you arrested!” She looked smug, as if she knew she had the upper hand.
Just as the situation seemed to be at a stalemate, Sam burst in with an air of urgency and shouted, “Dad, Davies’ Pharmaceuticals never went public. Alan and his father took our money and ran!”
“The sky is falling! The Kaur family’s world is collapsing!” His words were like a bomb exploding in the room, causing everyone to stand up.
“No… that can’t be true. Sam, all of our money is tied up in this investment. We also have a loan of 10 million dollars. This can’t be a joke,” said Frank anxiously.
“What Sam said is true. I just went to see Alan for help and found that Davies’ mansion was empty with police putting up tape,” Paulina rushed in frantically followed by Matteo who looked defeated.
Sam saw Madeline there too and pointed at her while scolding her angrily, “It’s one thing after another! Just when we resolved things with Asco Entertainment Company, Davies’ side explodes!”
“Madeline, you’re responsible for this mess! Return the 20 million dollars!” he demanded.
At that moment several relatives rushed into the room pointing fingers at Madeline accusing her of stealing their hard-earned money.
The Davies father-son duo had swindled 20 million dollars from employees and partners under the guise of internal financing going public; combined with Kaur family’s 20 million dollar investment they had made off with 40 million dollars cash altogether.
The Davies Pharmaceuticals factory was used as collateral for a partnership contract.
The Davies family’s thousand-acre herb plantation in Ponocord Bay was used as collateral for the Kaur family’s contract.
In other words, the Kaur family paid 20 million dollars for a piece of land that was desolate and uninhabited!
The conference room fell silent.
Flynn chuckled after confirming that Ponocord Bay had been mortgaged to the Kaur family. He turned to Matteo and said, “Mr. Kaur, don’t worry. Ponocord Bay will be developed soon, and the value of that land will increase.”
Paulina couldn’t help but get angry, “What are you joking about at this critical moment?”
Charlotte sneered, “Ponocord Bay is in the middle of nowhere with nothing but weeds.”
“It’s going to be developed into a cemetery instead of a tourist attraction!”
“I think you’re just trying to drag down the Kaur family by fooling them into not selling their land!”
Madeline was also disappointed. Flynn didn’t offer any help or solutions at this crucial moment; he only added chaos!
Everyone became angry.
“That’s enough talk! Madeline, give me my money back now! I won’t let you off even if you owe me one penny!”
“You have one day to return my money; otherwise, I’ll sell your house!”
“Immediately give me the money. If you can’t come up with it, then you’ll be a prostitute and sell yourself 180 times a day until you pay me back!” The relatives were furious and spewed out all sorts of vulgar language.
Flynn sneered, “For the sake of Mr. Kaur, here’s your chance to make some money.”
“Fine! You want money? Bring me the contract, I’ll buy it all!”
