“Kevin saved your life? Who are you? Why did he save you?” Rose was shocked.
How could a cold-blooded killer who had murdered his wife save someone he didn’t even know?
“You don’t need to know about my past,” Flynn said coldly. “All you need to know is that I will help you take back your business.”
He gave River a cold glance, squinted slightly, and left Garretmann Residence.
“He’s just garbage trying to clean up Kevin’s mess!” River’s face turned cold as he gritted his teeth. “When Aunt Tinley controlled the family, Kevin killed her to seize power. Now he wants to make amends? It’s too late!”
“That kid does have some skills, but trying to go up against the Swanson family, the Woods family and Dragon Gate is just asking for trouble!”
Tinley helped the Sharp family rise while Kevin couldn’t stand being under a woman’s control and pushed his wife down the stairs in an act of cowardice.
Rose was disgusted by such behavior and hadn’t visited him in prison for ten years. She didn’t want any help from Kevin and hoped he would rot in jail!
Besides, it was already certain that the Sharp family had fallen apart. Unless there were wealthy benefactors willing to help them out of their predicament, reviving the Sharp family would be nothing more than wishful thinking.
Flynn might have some skills but what good were they anyway?
Can conquering enemies be achieved with just fists and kicks?
The Swanson family was known for their martial arts expertise, and behind them lay the taboo Eight Extremities School.
Meanwhile, the Woods family boasted a skilled healer Layla, who had accumulated countless connections through treating the powerful over the years. But when faced with an opponent as large as an elephant, Flynn’s ant-like abilities seemed futile.
After bidding farewell to River and returning to her room, Rose locked herself in the bathroom to freshen up. The Minor Energy-Enhancing Pill sat silently in the trash can, but she didn’t even spare it a glance. After applying the golden ointment, she went to sleep, feeling exhausted.
…
Flynn checked his watch – it was already 1 am – so he decided to head back to Thodell Mansion for now.
He woke up early with plans of visiting Luca at Dragon Gate Group when Paulina called him.
“Flynn you bastard! Caleb Johnston came looking for you at home and even hit Scarlet.”
“He threatened that if he doesn’t see you by noon today, he’ll come over here and kill my entire family!”
“Don’t even think about hiding from this! Come explain yourself right now!”
Caleb? He was just about to go find him but it seemed like he was already here!
Flynn hung up the phone and jumped into his car without hesitation.
“What’s that stench in the car?” His gaze fell on the passenger seat. There lay a jade pendant, white as sheep fat with intricately carved dragons and phoenixes. A constant stream of malevolent energy rose from it, filling the air.
“This must be Rose’s thing,” Flynn picked up the pendant and studied it for a moment before furrowing his brows. “It’s made of bones from a dead person! From the energy, I can tell that its previous owner died violently and harbors strong resentment. Why would Rose wear something like this?”
“I should go ask her when I have time.”
….
Flynn arrived at the Kaur family.
“Matteo, I don’t care who you choose as your son-in-law – beggars off the street or even convicts – but just make sure he doesn’t cause trouble everywhere he goes!”
“Just look at how much trouble Flynn has caused already – he’s beaten Olivier from the guild twice, and Alan had to help smooth things over both times!”
“And now in just one day, he’s gone and beaten Caleb too!”
“But Caleb is Luca’s cousin! Our family can’t afford to mess with him!”
In the living room, a middle-aged man with a resemblance to Matteo stood angrily and talked incessantly.
“Brother, don’t be so hasty. Getting angry won’t solve anything!”
“Let’s have some tea and sit down to discuss this.” Matteo said helplessly as he put out his cigarette and tried to get Sam Kaur to sit down.
“Discuss? What is there left to discuss?” Sam shook off his hand violently, his face darkening. “When that bastard comes, we’ll tie him up and send him over to Caleb’s place for an apology!”
“If they want him dead or alive, let them do what they will! As long as it doesn’t affect our family!”
Madeline cried with red eyes as she looked at Scarlet’s tightly closed bedroom door in fear.
One hour ago.
Caleb arrived at the Kaur family’s home covered in injuries and slapped Scarlet twice while spewing vulgar words. He threatened that if he didn’t see Flynn before noon, he would force himself on Scarlet right there in her own home.
The Kaur family asked politely about the reason behind this behavior only then did they find out Flynn had caused another huge problem!
Scarlet was always treated like a precious gem since she was young; how could she bear such humiliation?
She ran back into her room crying without opening it no matter who called for her.
Paulina was even more furious than ever before; so angry that she almost fainted from rage!
“If you hand Flynn over to Caleb, his life is as good as gone!” Matteo sat on the couch, smoking one cigarette after another with a dejected expression.
“Sam, Flynn is Adrianna’s son. I promised to take good care of him, so I can’t send him over!”
“Let’s think of another way to resolve this. I promise to educate Flynn properly from now on. How about that?”
“How do you plan on educating him?” Sam’s daughter Charlotte Kaur sneered. “Don’t forget that Flynn not only beat up Caleb but also deceived the Pearce family!”
“The Pearce family? Who are they? Two generals! The mayor has to give them some face.”
“That bastard dared deceive the Pearce family. Is there any hope for him to be educated properly?”
“He deserves nothing more than being beaten to death by Caleb and put an end to his mischief,” Charlotte added.
Matteo shook his head and sighed continuously while worrying about losing hair due to stress.
“Mr. Kaur, Caleb is just a pest. When he comes here, I’ll squash him like a bug.” Flynn walked in with a calm expression and scanned the room before saying flatly.
