Chapter 34 I’m Done Talking; Is There Anyone Else?

Not far away.
“Mom, I lost and lost the formula. I’m sorry…” Rose left with frustration, filled with endless regret.
She bit her lip, full of unwillingness and blamed the unfairness.
Suddenly, she noticed that the noise behind her had become silent in an instant, followed by Milo’s shocked voice.
At almost the same moment, River’s smile froze on his face.
Looking at Flynn standing proudly in the field, his eyebrows furrowed and then turned into a cold expression with a murderous look in his eyes.
“He… he actually won against Heath!” Rose’s dim eyes suddenly brightened up as a shocking expression appeared on her face immediately. The gloominess and despair in her heart disappeared without a trace!
“Heath was too weak so I only used 30% of my strength. Otherwise he wouldn’t have just broken a few bones but turned into blood mist!” Flynn swept Milo and others indifferently before saying, “I’ve finished talking. Is there anyone else who doesn’t believe me?”
Flynn still looked relaxed as if he had just stepped on an ant which he couldn’t be bothered to think about anymore.
“It’s impossible!” Milo’s eyes were filled with despair but he still didn’t believe it. “I must have asked Master Graham to hold back so that you could take advantage!”
“Yes! Mr. Barrett asked Master Graham to break your legs because he was afraid of killing you with one punch. He didn’t dare use all his strength which is why you managed to win by luck!”
“Earlier, Stanley and Reginald wore out Master Graham quite a bit, having fought three rounds in a row. Nobody can guarantee their stamina, and you won simply because you took advantage of Master Graham’s weakened state and a well-timed opportunity.”
Various henchmen chimed in, offering explanations for the loss.
However, Rose interjected, “Mr. Barrett, the fact remains that Master Graham lost the match. Please honor our previous wager and let go of the formula.”
Milo was left speechless. He had believed the formula was within his grasp and never expected Flynn to seize the opportunity. With a wry smile, he squinted at Rose and replied, “Miss Sharp, you should know that whatever I set my sights on will eventually return to me.”
After making this statement, Milo cast a cold look at Flynn and departed with his entourage.
“Thank you,” Rose said to Flynn with a faint smile.
However, Flynn didn’t respond. Instead, he walked directly to River and delivered a resounding slap that left him bewildered.
“From now on, your family should stay out of the Sharp family’s affairs. Otherwise, your family will meet ruin,” Flynn warned.
Rose, puzzled, questioned, “Flynn, what do you mean?”
“What do I mean?” Flynn stared into River’s eyes and scoffed, “The Stewart family benefitted from your family’s generosity, and they deceived you in cahoots with Milo about the formula. Why shouldn’t he be dealt with?”
River’s face darkened as he retorted, “I don’t understand what you’re saying. And yet here you are, suddenly appearing and claiming to be helping Rose. Who knows what other motives you might have?”
“In my opinion, you just want to come between me and Rose and steal her formula!”
Rose furrowed her brows and shook her head at Flynn, saying, “I don’t believe your words!”
She and River had known each other since childhood. The Stewart family had also greatly benefited from Tinley Stevens’ care, transforming from a middle-class household into a small-scale wealthy family with assets worth billions.
Just a couple of days ago, the head of the Stewart family had his arm broken while trying to save her. How could he possibly betray her? Instead, after River’s reminder, the mysterious Flynn with unclear motives seemed rather suspicious.
The Dragon Bone Pill had been instrumental in the Sharp family’s rise to prominence, gaining renown across more than ten states in the southern region. Numerous families coveted it, and the Swanson family was just one of them.
“What if Flynn is working for another one of those families?” thought to herself.
“The Dragon Bone Pill’s formula is worth nothing to me,” Flynn stated coldly. “If I wanted, I could easily replicate it within minutes, and its effectiveness would be ten times that of the Dragon Bone Pill.”
“Worth nothing?” River chuckled and said to Rose, “See? His scheme has been exposed. Now he’s grasping at straws trying desperately defend himself.”
“The Dragon Bone Pill represents a century of medical knowledge accumulated by the Stevens family, with over ten thousand experiments. It has remarkable effects on bone-related ailments like rheumatism, avascular necrosis of the hip, and gout.”
“You say you can replicate it within minutes? Are you not afraid of tripping over your own tongue?”
Rose shook her head.
The Sharp family was initially just an ordinary pharmaceutical company with a market value of under 300 million. When Tinley, Rose’s mother, brought the Dragon Bone Pill and married into the family, they transformed into Niarak’s number one family within a short decade.
If not for the mishaps they had encountered, they would have been among the top ten in the Shipmeda State. All this success was attributed to the Dragon Bone Pill, a medicine that the Swanson family, among others, was eager to acquire.
Rose couldn’t believe that Flynn claimed he could replicate it within minutes.
River said, “Rose, you need to be more cautious in the future and avoid dealings with people of unknown origins.”
He gave Flynn an envious glare but took out a small box from his pocket, saying, “I had someone bring a bottle of golden ointment from abroad. It’s remarkably effective for scars. Try applying it.”
Rose’s eyes lit up as she received the box. She said, “The annual production of this medicine is extremely low, and it’s hard to find, and yet you managed to get it. It must have cost quite a bit.”
Before River could reply, Flynn raised his hand to interrupt, saying, “Your face was injured by a poisoned knife. This ointment won’t work on your scars, it will only make your skin tighter.”
“It can even affect the surrounding nerves and cause facial paralysis!”
Rose’s face turned cold as she spoke to Flynn, “I appreciate your help.”
“But please respect River, okay?”
After speaking, she turned to River and nodded her head, saying, “River, I’ll take the thing. Thank you!”
“Rose, you’re being too polite.” River waved his hand and smiled faintly.
“Your family is indebted to us. We don’t mind how much money we spend on you!”
“Weren’t you in debt for 7 million? My father will pay it off soon and help you repay the money!”
Rose was slightly surprised, “Your family really doesn’t have to help me so much. I’ll come thank your father another day!”
“Rose, this is what we should do. My family just wants to repay our debts. Don’t burden yourself with any guilt,” said River seriously.
Seeing River’s serious expression, Flynn sneered coldly, “The Stewart family has many tricks up their sleeves! They use every means possible – whether it be using a desperate situation or offering assistance in times of need – all for their own benefit! Don’t they fear divine retribution?”
“Shut up!” River’s face changed dramatically, and he angrily exclaimed, “I have known Rose since we were children, and we have been grateful to Aunt Tinley for over a decade. How could I deceive her?”
“Don’t think that just because you helped Rose win the competition, you can stir up trouble between me and her!”
“Shut up?” Flynn’s face suddenly darkened, his eyes filled with endless coldness as he said, “Even though Kevin saved my life, when he begged me to take care of Rose, he had to kneel down to speak!”
“You’re just a dog of the Sharp family. What gives you the right to talk down on me?”
