A man with a dark and brooding expression walked in, followed by an elderly man with a haggard face. The old man looked sickly, his eyes squinted into slits as if he had just crawled out of a grave.
“Block the door and let no one in or out!” The brooding man scanned the room, his eyes meeting River’s without leaving a trace. Both men’s lips curved slightly before disappearing in an instant.
Flynn noticed this exchange and furrowed his brows.
Suddenly, over a dozen men dressed in black appeared wielding clubs, blocking the entrance to the room.
The air was thick with hostility.
“Milo!” Rose’s face turned icy cold.
Milo was the manager of Alpha Pharmaceutical and had contributed greatly to their victory against the Sharp’s Group.
Scarface pushed his way forward and fixed his gaze on Flynn, his expression turning dark as he sneered, “Holy shit! This bastard is here too!”
“You little son of a bitch! Mr. Barrett is coming over now. Let’s see if you still dare to be arrogant!”
“Boss, it was this little bastard who beat me up!”
As soon as Scarface spoke up, everyone’s attention shifted towards Flynn.
The elderly man’s eyes slowly opened halfway, then expressionlessly turned into a slit, as if Flynn didn’t even deserve a direct gaze.
Milo’s gaze focused on Flynn, and a chill flashed across his face. He then looked at Stanley and Reginald, raising an eyebrow and asking, “Who are these two?”
“They are the experts I hired for Rose!” River stood protectively in front of Rose and spoke coldly.
“Oh?” Milo was slightly surprised. His gaze returned to Rose as he sneered, “Miss Sharp is quite impressive. You found two experts within an hour.”
“Well, I don’t want to keep coming back for the formula, and you don’t want to keep dealing with me.”
“I happen to have brought an expert with me today,” Milo said confidently. “Let’s have a competition.”
“Whoever wins gets the Dragon Bone Pill formula,” he proposed.
“Of course,” he added quickly. “To be fair, we’ll record it all on video so no one can cheat!”
As soon as he finished speaking, one of his men pulled out their phone and started recording.
Rose looked at the elderly man with a slight frown but remained silent.
“Rose,” River turned back towards her. “I think this is worth trying! That old man looks like he’s about to kick the bucket anyway.”
“And these two I brought are in their prime.” He gestured towards Stanley first, “Stanley here is a retired captain from Dragon Cavalry Special Forces Unit – expert in grappling techniques and close combat skills!”
“He once single-handedly took down an enemy special forces team during the Jungles of Haralu mission!”
“And Reginald here is a master of Muay Thai – trained under legendary fighter Yapila; WKN World Championship runner-up!”
“They both can win!” River said, nodding to Stanley and Reginald.
Reginald stepped forward, his presence booming. Rose was startled and even felt the floor shake.
Stanley slammed his elbow into the wall, causing it to crumble and sending bricks tumbling down along with a photo album that had been hanging on the wall. Rose was shocked again but seemed less hesitant this time.
River noticed Rose’s reaction and smirked slightly before exchanging a glance with Milo. It was clear that the old man was hiding his true strength as he appeared much more powerful than Stanley and Reginald combined.
Even though River didn’t have any martial arts skills, he didn’t hesitate to persuade Rose to accept Milo’s challenge while praising Stanley and Reginald’s abilities. He exchanged glances with Milo several times during their conversation.
“Do you want to keep your formula safe?” Flynn turned to ask Rose.
“Of course,” she nodded in agreement.
“Good! I’ll help you!” Flynn stepped forward boldly, facing off against the old man!
