Orion felt a slight sense of relief when he saw the cold smile vanish from Flynn’s face. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and impatiently waved his hand.
To everyone’s astonishment, he turned to Madeline with a friendly smile and said, “Ms. Kaur, I apologize for any inconvenience you’ve experienced. There seems to have been a misunderstanding. On behalf of the Myriad Dragon Merchant Guild, I sincerely apologize to you.”
The onlookers were left dumbfounded.
Orion, who had always been domineering and unreasonable, had suddenly become so formal?
Scarlet, who had been observing Orion’s behavior since he arrived, felt her body tremble with excitement. Orion’s attitude had shifted dramatically from his initial arrogance to shock, then fear, and ultimately deep apprehension.
All of this started from the moment Orion made eye contact with Flynn.
Flynn had managed to subdue the usually arrogant Orion!
“Oh my god!” Scarlet thought excitedly to herself, “Madeline has hit the jackpot!”
Madeline was momentarily stunned, and it took her a while to force a faint smile. She replied, “Mr. Kennedy, you are too kind. We are also at fault in this matter…”
Orion waved his hand repeatedly and said with a smile, “Oh no, not at all! The Guild owes you 4 million, and if you had come here through the proper channels, everything would have been different.”
“That son of a b**** bullied you with this matter, he deserves to die!”
“Ms. Kaur, don’t worry. The 4 million debt will be transferred to your company account immediately!”
Madeline was surprised and quickly said, “Thank you, Mr. Kennedy.”
Orion nodded and coughed twice before saying to everyone, “Everyone, I’m feeling unwell today. The reception is cancelled. Please leave!”
Then he awkwardly smiled at Madeline and said, “As long as you’re satisfied, I have to go home and take some medicine now.”
Orion quickly got into the Rolls-Royce car and left.
He had no idea how much Flynn’s anger had dissipated, and he was afraid Flynn would stop him, string him up on the railing, and expose him to the sun for three days, just like the general from Achela in prison.
He didn’t dare to stay for a moment and cursed the driver to leave. After the Rolls-Royce had driven a block, Orion finally breathed a sigh of relief and complained to Edwin, “Why didn’t you inform me when he came over at Chateau Hotel?”
“How would I know if he came over? If I knew it earlier, would I let Olivier act so recklessly?” Edwin wiped his sweat off his face while grumbling.
Orion spat outside the window with frustration, “This whole thing… I still wanted to invite him for dinner later on. Maybe I should wait until he calms down first!”
“Olivier is a real piece of work. He messed up my plans, and I’m going to give him a taste of his own medicine today!”
Edwin nodded in agreement. “Boss had me gather some intel the other day, so we should have some leads by now.”
“I’ll ask around too. I need to make things right,” Orion added.
After Orion left, the guests dispersed.
Kimber finally snapped out of her daze and exclaimed excitedly, “Miss Woods, I thought Orion wouldn’t give you face. But after you revealed your identity, he backed down!”
“Hmph! He was acting tough when he first arrived but wilted when he saw you,” Kimber retorted.
“Orion knows what’s important. If he messes with the Woods family or Green Liniment Ghost Doctor’s connections through you, he won’t get away unscathed,” Kimber explained.
Layla said calmly, “Orion is someone who understands the bigger picture, he knows who holds more weight. For the sake of my face, he will still give in.”
Flynn chuckled, utterly perplexed by the confidence of these master and servant.
Kimber glared at Flynn, seething with anger. “If Miss Woods didn’t step in, you would likely be in pieces. You not only show no gratitude but also laugh? Have you no shame?”
“Forget about it, Kimber.” Layla intervened coldly. “I promised to help him twice. Whether or not he’s grateful is his problem. Let’s go.”
Flynn shrugged, seemingly indifferent.
“You only have one chance,” Kimber said to him with disdain. “Hope you cherish your sorry life and don’t just throw it away.” With that, she left Chateau Hotel with Layla.
As soon as they left, Alan arrived at the hotel in a hurry. Madeline was standing at the entrance, staring in the direction Orion had disappeared.
“Madeline, I heard something happened here. Did they give you any trouble?” Alan asked breathlessly.
“It’s okay now,” Madeline replied with a smile.
“If they dare to bother you again, I won’t let them get away with it!” Alan snorted coldly.
Madeline’s eyes lit up and she exclaimed excitedly, “Mr. Davies, did you call Mr. Kennedy and ask him to leave us alone?”
Alan was confused by her words but since that was what she thought he did, he just nodded and smiled.
“Oh I see! That’s why Mr. Kennedy suddenly changed his attitude.” Madeline exclaimed with joy.
When Orion had just entered the hall, he had been rude and unwilling to listen to Madeline’s explanation. However, as soon as he received a phone call, his attitude immediately changed.
Not only did he beat up Olivier, but he also apologized and immediately paid off the 4 million debt.
It turned out that it was all thanks to Alan!
Alan chuckled and nodded his head. “Calling Mr. Kennedy was just a small favor, and I casually mentioned for him to quickly repay the money. It’s nothing.”
After hearing this, Madeline suddenly calmed down and furrowed her brows.
It seemed like even the Davies family’s power can’t suppress Orion!
With a net worth of several hundred billion dollars, how could Orion give face to a second-tier wealthy family like the Davies?
