Elisa gently tugged Louis’ arm and he woke up. Rubbing his sleepy eyes, he looked at her. When his gaze fell on Elisa, his pupils instantly cleared.
“Awake?” he subconsciously checked his phone. It was seven in the morning. “It’s still early, do you want to sleep a little longer?”
“I’m not going to sleep anymore. Why didn’t you sleep in the bed last night? Isn’t your neck stiff from sleeping like that?” Elisa mentioned it, and Louis felt the stiffness. He turned his neck and felt some pain, clearly a case of a stiff neck.
Louis turned his neck and changed the subject. “We’re not married yet. I have to be responsible for you.”
“We are boyfriend and girlfriend now, isn’t it normal to sleep together?” Elisa thought she was conservative enough, but she didn’t expect Louis to be even more honest than her. They had slept together before, even though the last time was when he was drunk.
Louis couldn’t tell Elisa that he was afraid he couldn’t control his physical reaction when sleeping with her. He wanted to give Elisa everything good and make her feel secure, giving her the most perfect love.
Louis also had moments of inferiority. He was over thirty, but Elisa was only twenty-two. They say there’s a gap of three years in a generation, but he crossed three generation gaps with her. Although Elisa’s maturity didn’t match her age, Louis always couldn’t help but worry about the age difference, afraid that Elisa would despise his old age.
“Do we have to get married to sleep together?” Elisa stared at Louis’ earlobe, and it visibly turned crimson at a noticeable speed, with a delicate blush.
Louis nodded absentmindedly.
“In that case, it seems we need to get married soon,” Elisa said. Otherwise, how long would it take for them to sleep together?
Louis looked surprised, unable to control the upward curve of his mouth. He seemed very happy.
Elisa stretched on the bed, pulling back the covers, and sat up. Her loose-fitting nightdress had spaghetti straps, and the neckline slipped down, revealing a large expanse of her fair skin, so smooth and tender that it seemed to glow, as if a pinch would leave a red mark.
Elisa felt nothing was wrong, like a lazy cat, contentedly squinting her eyes.
As she was about to roll off the bed, Louis suddenly sat up and pulled the covers back over her.
Elisa looked at him bewilderedly with her watery eyes, and then at the covers that were placed back on her. She didn’t miss the trembling of Louis’ hand as he gripped the covers.
“Don’t wear this kind of nightdress anymore.”
This was the first time Louis had been so serious with her. Elisa found it interesting, as if she had discovered a new continent. “Do you need to clarify that I shouldn’t wear this kind of nightdress at all, or should I not wear it for others to see and only for you?”
Louis’ eyes flickered wildly, like a candle flame in the wind. “No… don’t wear it for others to see.”
Elisa smiled. “Okay, then, after we get married, I’ll wear it for you every day.”
How could he bear this? Being teased by Elisa so early in the morning, Louis was momentarily dazed, until Elisa reminded him, “Hand me the clothes I took off yesterday. I’ll go change in the washroom.”
Louis brought the clothes over and placed them on a nearby chair. “It’s more convenient for you to change here. I’ll go to the washroom. Call me when you’re done.”
With that, he hurried off to the washroom, leaving Elisa shaking her head, laughing. She glanced at the tightly closed curtains and changed out of her nightdress.
It was the first time she had worn such a nightdress. It wasn’t actually that revealing, but if Louis couldn’t handle this, what about when they tried spicing things up after getting married?
Elisa tidied her hair and, after dressing, called out, “Louis, come out. I’ve changed.”
Louis opened the door and only then dared to look directly at Elisa.
“Come in and wash up. I’ve prepared hot water and squeezed out toothpaste for you.”
Upon entering, Elisa found everything ready for her, and she couldn’t help but compare herself to her past. She remembered how she used to please someone, just like this, in the past – Aoife as well.
Whenever she was with Louis, her mood was always pleasant. She looked at herself in the mirror in the washroom.
She had cried for a long time last night, but there was no sign of redness in her eyes. She touched the area around her eye, feeling a bit moist, She had applied something around her eyes. Elisa had always been observant, and she noticed a bottle of eye cream on the shelf, with the lid still loose.
Last night, while she was asleep, Louis had secretly applied eye cream to reduce the swelling around her eyes.
After finishing her wash, Elisa went out. Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door. Louis went to open it and saw Brittany standing there, looking resentful. Her expression changed instantly when she noticed Elisa inside.
“Elisa, did you sleep with my brother last night?”
Louis smirked. “If not with me, did she sleep with you?”
“Jerk!” Brittany scolded angrily. “You clearly said you wouldn’t sleep with Elisa before marriage, but in the blink of an eye, you secretly took her away. Did you sneak into my room after Elisa fell asleep? Men’s words are as fickle as ghosts!”
