Chapter 90: I Only Believe My Own Eyes

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

Hamish’s eyes turned cold as he reached out and grabbed Elisa’s chin. “Elisa, do you always pretend to be innocent and pitiful in front of me, only to secretly employ your malicious methods?”
“It wasn’t me who used malicious methods, it was Lila. She threw herself down the stairs to frame me!”
“You’re still trying to defend yourself!”
Hamish tightened his grip on Elisa’s chin, exerting pressure that seemed capable of shattering it. Elisa was forced to open her mouth, her face contorting in pain.
Apart from anger, there was also a sense of injustice. Why did Hamish never believe her?
“Twice now,” Hamish’s hawk-like gaze locked onto Elisa’s eyes, his voice deep and heavy. “The first time, you slapped Lila, and now you pushed her down the stairs. It seems that the punishment of locking you on the balcony last time was too lenient, so you didn’t learn your lesson!”
So, what did Hamish intend to do this time? Elisa felt a chill rising in her chest, spreading through her veins and making her limbs and even her palms grow cold and tremble.
She had always been submissive to Hamish, bearing all the pain in her heart, to the point where he believed she was naturally accepting of everything, which led him to insult her in various ways.
Elisa’s lips curled into a bitter smile. “Then tell me, what is my motive? Why would I push her?”
Hamish hesitated for a moment. He had never really thought about this question before-Elisa’s motive. Was it because she was jealous of Lila? He stared at Elisa’s face, trying to find an answer from her expression, but Elisa burst into laughter.
Tears welled up from the pain in her jaw, streaming down her cheeks and onto Hamish’s hand.
“Hamish, do you still think I love you? Because of your kindness towards Lila, I’m jealous of her, so I maliciously pushed her down the stairs?”
Suddenly, Hamish didn’t want to know the answer anymore, but Elisa didn’t intend to stop. She endured the intense pain in her jaw and continued, “Hamish, how many times do you want me to say that I no longer love you? Now I just want to be far away from you. If you marry Lila, I’ll definitely give you a big red envelope with blessings for a happy marriage and many children.”
“Slap!” Hamish landed a fierce slap across Elisa’s face, not giving her a chance to react. Elisa was stunned, and after a brief moment of daze, her ears began to buzz.
After a few seconds, she stiffly raised her hand to touch her burning cheek, mocking herself for adapting so quickly to Hamish’s violence.
Hamish’s chest heaved as he reached into his car, adjusted his disheveled hairline, and a vein throbbed on his temple.
He couldn’t understand why he got so angry when he heard Elisa say those words! It was even more maddening than when she threatened him with marriage!
Wasn’t he not good enough to Elisa? Recently, she had been more relaxed around him, letting him sleep next to her, bathe her, and blow-dry her hair. He had never “served” anyone like this, not even Lila had enjoyed such treatment. So why did Elisa act so indifferent, as if she didn’t care? It was a blow to his pride!
He shouldn’t have such “personal” attitudes towards Elisa. What was Elisa anyway? Just a plaything.
Yes, Elisa was just a plaything, and his possessiveness towards her had no emotional attachment.
His thoughts were now spinning in circles, and to confirm this idea, he urgently needed to do something.
Hamish gripped Elisa’s arm tightly and dragged her to the staircase, carrying her along.
“Elisa, don’t think I don’t know that your words just now were an attempt to escape responsibility! I don’t believe you, I only believe my own eyes!”
He stood at the staircase, lifting Elisa horizontally. “You will pay the price for what you’ve done!”
