Chapter Thirteen – Exit The Pack

Book:Bloody Comeback Of My Alpha Mate Published:2024-6-4

Feeling shaken by Alexander’s sudden appearance and departure, I try to compose myself as I lean against the door, trying to process his words. Before I can gather my thoughts, there’s a knock on my door, further adding to my agitation.
“Who’s there?” I snap, my frustration evident in my tone. When there’s no response, I become more agitated. “Who the hell is at my door?” I demand, growing increasingly annoyed by the intrusion.
I hesitate for a moment, debating whether to open the door or ignore it. But curiosity gets the better of me, and I cautiously approach the door to see who is on the other side.
Feeling a surge of frustration at their lack of cooperation, I resist the urge to lash out at the warrior for his insolence. Instead, I take a deep breath and try to maintain my composure.
“Let’s go to the Alpha’s room.” I say firmly, motioning for them to lead the way. As we walk, I can feel their curious glances and tense energy, but I ignore it, focusing on reaching my father’s room.
When we finally arrive, I knock on the door, my heart pounding with apprehension. After a moment, the door opens, revealing my father standing inside, his expression stern and unwelcoming.
“What is it?” He demands, his voice cold.
“These warriors said you wanted to see me.” I reply evenly, trying to keep my tone neutral despite my inner turmoil.
As I enter the room, I can sense the tension thickening in the air. My father’s stern gaze meets mine, and I swallow nervously before addressing him.
“Some warriors knocked on my door and asked me to leave based on your command. How true is that?!” I blurt out, my words tinged with frustration and anger.
My father’s expression remains unreadable for a moment before he sighs heavily, exchanging a glance with the Luna seated beside him.
“It’s true.” He admits reluctantly. “With recent developments in the pack, it’s been decided that it’s best for you to leave for a while. It’s for your own safety and the stability of the pack.”
I feel a surge of disbelief and betrayal wash over me. Despite my efforts to maintain my composure, I can feel my anger boiling beneath the surface.
“And you didn’t think it was worth informing me beforehand? Sending warriors to drag me out of my own home like some sort of criminal?” I retort, unable to contain my frustration.
The Luna’s expression softens, and she reaches out a hand to me, her voice gentle as she speaks.
“I understand your anger, dear. But please try to see that this decision was made with your best interests in mind.” She says soothingly.
I clench my fists, struggling to contain my emotions as I glare at my father, waiting for his response.
The tension in the room thickens as my father and his Luna exchange heated words. I watch silently, feeling a mixture of disbelief and intrigue at the unfolding drama.
“Clarissa, if anyone tries to send you out of here, let me know.” The Luna declares, her voice firm and resolute.
My father’s response is sharp and cutting. “Then you can quit being my Luna.”
The Luna doesn’t back down, her resolve unwavering. “Then I’ll take what I brought with me. Would it have been more secured and standard if I wasn’t here?”
Her words hang in the air, casting a shadow over the room. I can sense the weight of their argument, the underlying power struggle between them.
As I watch the scene play out before me, I realize that my father’s plans may have backfired. His attempt to manipulate the situation has only resulted in chaos and discord within the pack house. And amidst it all, I find myself caught in the middle, unsure of where my loyalties lie.
But amidst the chaos, I find solace in knowing that I have allies like Luna Tiana, someone who sees value in me and offers her support without hesitation.
As I reach my room, I take a moment to collect my thoughts and plan my next steps. With Luna Tiana’s encouragement, I feel empowered to face whatever challenges lie ahead and assert my place within the pack house.
With a surge of satisfaction, I spring up. The prospect of ending Dad seems more tangible now. If the person he’s closest to can threaten him, and I reinforce that threat, perhaps he’ll capitulate to our demands or meet his demise. Stepping away from the door, I freeze at the sound of something unfamiliar.
I gently place my ear against the door, hearing moaning sounds. It’s a moment of disbelief as I witness Dad’s actions through the narrow opening. His intense movements contrast sharply with his silence, echoing only with her moans.
The rapidity of the encounter continues to shock me until I retreat to my room and close the door. A sense of violation creeps over me, but I forcefully push the thought aside, refusing to let it derail my plans to be with my true mate.
“It’s high time I got you a smartphone.” Dad says.
“Wolves don’t need phones. Get me a large bush animal instead.” She replies.
“Is that what you want then? I’ll get it before dawn.” Dad assures her.
“Thank you so much.” She says, and the sound of a kiss follows.
I hear the commotion from outside my window and can’t resist the urge to listen further. Their lovey-dovey talk starts to grate on me, feeling oppressive. It seems they’ve just mated and don’t truly understand what it means to have a mate. Well, neither do I, but this process is certainly educating me.
I lay on my bed and let out a deep sigh, beginning to drift off. Suddenly, I snap awake and vigorously shake my head. No, I’m not giving up. I’m just gathering my thoughts. I yawn loudly, craving some food. I stride over to the door, swing it open, and call for some warriors.
“Are you brave enough?” I inquire once they’re assembled before me.
“What do you mean by that?” One of them retorts.
“You don’t answer a question with a question. Got it?” I warn them, though they reluctantly comply. I shrug at their response.
“I request bush meat.” I state.
“That place is perilous. Can we explore other dietary options?” Another suggests, concerned for our safety.
“What alternatives? And why the hostility? I could report you to Luna.” I retort, feeling slighted.
“We’ll deliver it to your room. Apologies for any rudeness.” The respectful one assures before leaving with the other.
I resist the urge to retaliate, focusing on finding solace in other ways. I recall a familiar sound from my father’s office, and investigate. Upon opening the door, I witness a disturbing scene, prompting me to quickly retreat and overhear their conversation.
“Can we pause? Someone might overhear.” She whispers to him. There’s a soft sound, then her moans intensify. Disgusted, I shake my head and leave, vowing not to return anytime soon. When I return to my room, I try to clear my mind.
Growing up without a caring mother and dealing with a wicked father is truly unbearable. I find the food in my room but discard it, unable to stomach it.
“Alexander, come to me.” I call out, attempting to connect with his spirit, but I can’t help but laugh at my futile attempt.
“Well, here I am. It’s getting easier, Lisa. I’ll repay you, don’t worry. I’ll be with you soon. Enjoy.” He appears, utters, and vanishes.
Feeling uplifted by Alexander’s encouraging words, drowsiness creeps over me, but I resist, opting instead to train my wolf.
“I’ll handle the training myself.” I assert to the wolf as it approaches.
“Did you get the meat?” The guy asks, but I choose to ignore him, prompting a frustrated hiss.
“She’s too proud.” Another remarks, but I tune out the comments, prioritizing my mental well-being.
Focused on training my wolf to confront rogues more effectively, I pay little heed to the distractions around me. However, when a guy approaches, I hesitate but decide to stay.
“Hey there, how’s it going?” He greets. I pause my sprinting and turn to face him.
“It’s going well, thank you.” I reply cheerfully.
“I’d like to chat with you for a few minutes.” He suggests.
“Oh!” I exclaim, chuckling nervously. “Why’s that?”
“Just some introductory questions.” He explains.
“Can we do that here?” I inquire, and he nods in agreement.
“Sure.” He confirms. “I’m Dylan. It’s great to meet you.”
“I’m Clarissa.” I respond, adjusting my hair before shaking his hand. “Nice to meet you too. What’s on your mind?”
“Just having some Hennessy over there and thought I’d invite you.” He says, surprising me.
“Hennessy? Are you human?” I ask.
“I don’t have to be human to enjoy that. I’m just a different kind of wolf. Would you like to learn more?” He offers.
“Nah, nah, nah.” I reply immediately, declining his offer.
“Alright, I’ll join you in a bit.” He says before walking away cautiously. I roll my eyes and stifle a laugh silently. He doesn’t realize he’s approached someone dangerous. I belong to a different league altogether. You’d need to be willing to risk it all to engage with me.
I continue training my wolf, deliberately ignoring his attempts to draw me over. Determined to push myself, I add weights, aiming to build strength like someone striving for six-pack abs to impress their partner.
Suddenly, he spanks me from behind, and I whirl around, brimming with anger. His face is clear now, and without a moment’s hesitation, I deliver three hard slaps to his chin. Fueled by fury, I unleash a barrage of punches, as if intent on ending him right then and there.
“Bold move.” I seethe, glaring at him. “You fool. Do you think you can pull that off with just anyone? I hold sway in this pack house, and I could command the wolves to bury you this instant!”
“I… I’m… I’m so sorry. I was just trying to impress.” He stammers, his voice barely audible.
“Impress other she-wolves with your antics. Don’t you realize who I am?” I demand repeatedly, noticing other wolves gathering to witness the commotion.
“I understand now. I apologize.” He manages to say. I grip his neck tightly and deliver a swift kick to his groin before storming off to resume my training, leaving him to ponder his actions.
