Chapter Five – One Down

Book:Bloody Comeback Of My Alpha Mate Published:2024-6-4

“Unmerciful to the bone.” The groaning monster growls. “Grace to the humble. Death to the proud. For those that seek my death, you’ll die.” Dad yells.
“Please, Father.” I plead while the rope tightens around my throat. “Release me. I will never think of killing you anymore.”
“I will always think of that.” Alex, though chained, speaks with more confidence than ever. “Not until I get my revenge again.”
Thompson laughs wickedly as he retrieves a thick cord. Then, moving to Alex’s head, he wipes the cord on him and kicks him to the ground, wiping the cord on his back and other parts. Alexander doesn’t speak; I assume he has a plan because I can’t believe Dad can control a Ghost and a blue Wolf like this.
“Will you leave my mate alone?!” I yell at Dad, my voice escalating into shrieks. My wolf requests permission to break loose, but I don’t respond to it. Instead, I form fists with my hands and land them on the wall near me. The wall shatters into bits and falls to the ground.
“No, No, No!” I scream at the top of my voice as my witch self doesn’t seek permission but takes control. Transforming into a beast, I pounce at Thompson, who is on top of Alex and aiming to drink his blood. This is not my wolf form; beware, it is my witch form. Twelve horns shoot out of my head as blood splatters against my face. I think it’s the blood that comes out of my nostrils and rarely eyes, but I soon discover it’s Thompson tearing Alex apart with his wolf teeth. He had shifted so easily. Wow. It took me so long. With my back bending and rising sideways, coupled with the horns increasing in agility and with repeated squelching, I pounce at Thompson as he falls off from Alex.
“Alex. Alex. Are you okay?” I tap him as soon as I realize that Thompson is already weakened from a hit of my horn. An advantage of having this ability is that you can easily shift back, just within nanoseconds. Now, in my human body, I lie beside Alex and whisper into his ears.
“Are you okay?” He doesn’t respond, but his eyes stare straight at an object. I trace the object with my eyes as well and see that it is a gun. Dad suddenly gives me a weird stare when he sees me moving towards the gun. He quickly shifts totally back into his human form as he slides on the ground to grab the gun, but no, I grab it first.
“Aim for the head.” Alex mutters, and without hesitating, I pull the trigger and fire at Thompson’s skull. It blows off once the bullets attack his oblongata, and he drops to the ground.
“A gun can’t kill a wolf, not to talk of a monster, you know?” I tell Alex, but I keep shooting Dad. As I shoot the last bullet at him, the gun clicks, telling me no more bullets are available. Damn this.
“Alexander, the bullets have been exhausted.” I tap him and help him sit on the bed as we watch Thompson groaning in acute pain. Tick. 12 AM ticks as the new day comes.
“Did we successfully kill him?” I ask Alex, kind of smiling and kind of confused.
“Of course not.” He shrugs his shoulders. “Damn this. After all my struggles.”
“I’m sorry, Alex.” I sob. “Thompson can’t die just like that; I should have told you earlier.”
“So there’s something you’re hiding from me, Lisa?”
“Not really.” I deadpan. “Dad is a monster. Even if we kill him successfully, then we must kill his other parasites as we have killed the host.”
“I know this after all.” He clicks his tongue. “Don’t you have a godmother?”
“I wasn’t given one. If only you knew how much I wished to have one to contact should I need any assistance.”
“What group of witches do you belong to? Green witches?” He asks, but I shake my head.
“Just talk. Reply with your lips.” He instructs, but I shrug my shoulders.
“That isn’t necessary now.” I tell him. “Let’s get to kill Thompson, then we’ll go to the bush for his other two bodies to murder.”
“I didn’t die.” Dad roughly mutters. “I’m not coming to the ghost world; you’re only wasting your time. Soon now, my wolf will heal me completely.” Then he smirks. “You think a gun can just kill me, bloody kids?”
“No.” Alexander replies. “Clarissa, stay with him and protect yourself with your power before I return.”
“Where are you going to, now?” I ask him, kind of shuddering. “You shouldn’t leave me at this point.”
“It’s for our benefits.” He replies. “You have absolutely nothing to fear, as I will always be here and there for you.”
“Okay. Just tell me, where are you going to?”
“To prepare myself. I’m coming back into this world with force and ease. Not struggling with a freak and ending up a loser. Not anymore.” He replies. “It will be sudden, and make sure you’re intact with me so you won’t go for it.”
“Are you annihilating this pack?” I inquire as Dad rolls on the ground, staring at us with bloodstained eyes.
“Kind of.”
“How can I reach you then? Can you establish a mind link for us?” I ask, anxiety in my voice.
“Not possible.” Dad replies.
“Not possible.” Alex says almost immediately.
“Good. Thank God you know. Now, help me up and let me keep reigning.” Dad says, stretching forth his hands. My wolf grows infuriated inside, threatening to break free at any moment.
“Shut your damn lips up.” I tell Dad. “He will never support a freak.”
Alex suddenly draws my chin near him, whispering into my ears.
“Your vampire being is with us. Connect me through that.” He says, and poof, he vanishes into thin air. Tears well up, and I lay my head on my laps, sniffling. My eyes turn red as I glare at Dad with fury. His hands and entire body seem burnt, but he still smiles and breathes in and out like a normal wolf.
“Now, how do you plan to escape?” Dad taunts, shrugging his shoulders as he fully heals himself. “I was just pretending when Alex was here. Pretending to be hurt, but I was only hindering my wolf from healing me.”
“Now, I know all your secrets.” I retort, fuming. “Don’t come near me, or else, I will break your head.”
“Where is Smith?” He stands erect, kicking the door open. “There is fresh air outside. Will you chill out with me?” He beckons to me, but I only respond by rolling my eyes at him. He shuts the door and walks back into the pack house. I walk straight to the doorpost, kicking it open again, and indeed, there is fresh air outside. I squat at the doorstep, contemplating what to do next.
My mate is an Alpha in the ghost world, and he has informed me that he is coming again. Should I continue acting nice to Dad, or should I keep planning against him?
“Cate, are you there?” I call my wolf by its name for the very first time, and thankfully, she doesn’t act obstinate this time.
“Yes. What do you need me for now?”
“I need to order my vampire.” I tell her. “I have someone to mind link in the ghost world.”
“I’m not interested in anything eerie.” She replies. “Please don’t repeat that.”
“If you can’t help me, then what can you do?”
“I don’t know about your vampire, and besides, I can’t see any other being here, so maybe it’s not active yet.”
“How can I activate it?”
“How am I to know?”
“Damn you.” I curse, and prevent her from replying me again.
Smith suddenly calls me from a room opposite me; I can’t see his face, but I surely recognize his voice.
“Okay, I’ll be with you.” I rise to my feet as my wolf bounces within me. When she does that, she’s surer to thrust out than she’s less sure. I jerk the door to the room open and see him under a big wolf.
“Help me, please.” He muffles under the wolf as the wolf tears his body apart.
“Sorry, but I can’t help you.” I take a few steps back as his eyes widen in shock at my acute and distastefully unexpected reply.
“Help me tell Alpha Thompson, then. Please. It will kill me. It’s a blue Wolf.” He says, and my memory clicks. Alex has told me that blue wolves are sent by the moon goddess to kill wolves that trespassed. If it’s indeed a blue Wolf trying to kill him, then it’s legal; he has sincerely wronged the moon goddess.
“I’ll never call the Alpha for you. Don’t bother; the Alpha will join you soon.” I mock him as I creak the door open again while the wolf tears Smith’s wolf and body parts into two and feeds on them.
Smith. Eliminated. Dad’s next. Violence. Yeah.
