ALEX’S POV
‘Tulips for my baby girl.’
I smiled as I read the card on the bouquet of tulips Bryan had given me.
“Wow Ma’am, Sir Nic is so sweet.” My secretary Paula said.
She was the one who always handed me bouquets from Bryan.
I just smiled at her. I also did not tell her that it was from Bryan and not from Nic.
I entered my office holding the bouquet of tulips.
Even if Bryan doesn’t say or put his name on the card I know it came from him.
He is the only person who calls me baby girl.
I still can’t forget what he told me on the night of my engagement party. He will make me fall for him to the point that I will learn to fight for him.
Yes I admit I became a coward. And I thought that marrying Nic was the solution to my situation.
Yes I am running away. And yes I do like him but not enough for me to fight for him.
I smiled to myself. I thought that after my engagement party Bryan would stop. I thought like any other guys he will also give up after experiencing those kinds of trials.
But no. The day after my engagement party, he start with his courtship. I really can’t believe he is serious about courting me.
Every morning he will call me just to say good morning. Then I will receive a bouquet of tulips in my office every morning. During lunch time my secretary will call me saying that I have food delivery. And then at night before I go to sleep I will receive a call from him and he will tell me good night.
He does all those things EVERYDAY.
I’m actually getting use to it. I don’t know if I should be happy with that or not.
YES, because that is how I feel every time I will hear his voice and receive those flowers and foods and of course his time and effort that he is giving me. Who would like that?
NO because what if Nic and I got married? He will definitely stop all this and he will move on.
It was as if something pinched my heart when I imagine him moving on and having someone else to do all the things that he does to me.
My deep thinking was interrupted when the intercom suddenly rang.
“Ma’am, Mr. Lee and Janet’s team are already in the conference room.” said Paula.
“Okay. I’ll be there in a minute.” I told her.
After a week I will see Bryan again. Bryan and I were both very busy so we could only talk on the phone.
Q2 is coming to an end so Bryan is here for us to present a business review for Q2 and plan for the next quarter.
When I entered the conference room, I immediately saw our very handsome client. He smiled when he saw me.
“Good morning baby girl.” Bryan greeted me with a smile.
You know the moment that you felt like you and him are the only people in the conference? I know that Janet and the team greeted but I didn’t give much attention to that because I am too focus on Bryan and in his smile.
The meeting has started and again I can now see Bryan’s serious side again. Very professional and very intimidating.
After the meeting, Janet team left the conference immediately.
“So lunch?” Bryan invited me.
I looked at my watch. Yes it’s already lunch time.
I raised my left eyebrow. “Is there no food delivery today?”
He grinned. “No. Because we will have lunch together today.” Then he winked.
I just chuckled and shook my head.
“So shall we?” He asked.
I nodded and we left.
He took me to a restaurant near the office.
It looks like this lunch is really planned because apart from our reserved seats, our food is also ready.
“Finally.” said Bryan
I frowned. “Finally?”
“Nothing. I’m just very happy because I’m with you now. I’ve been doing a peek for you for almost a week.” He said.
“Peek?”
“Yes. I’ve been so busy really. So all I can do is to have a glimpse of you. I can’t come near you because for sure I will have a hard time leaving.” He confessed.
My jaw dropped and blushed. I can’t believe what he just said.
But then. “Bryan this isn’t right.”
“I don’t think so. It’s just wrong if you’re married. I’m just taking my chance. I don’t want to regret and think of what if’s because I did nothing to win you back.”
