ALEX’S POV
“Nic I don’t understand you. Why did you agree to what Bryan wanted?” I asked him.
Nic and I are currently having dinner. From the time we left the office until now I have been frowning.
Who would be happy about what happened? I could do nothing because they both agreed and ignored me earlier.
“I’m just doing you a favor.” Nic answered.
My brow raised.
“Doing me a favor? What do you think my dad’s reaction when he found out that I am entertaining a suitor even though I already have a fiancee? And what will your mom and dad will think of me?” I hissed.
What kind of brain does Nic have? I know he is kind but he is overly kind! I can’t believe him!
“And no matter what Bry does, I will still marry you.” I added.
“You have nothing to worry about.” said Nic.
I did not answer.
He sighed. “look Lex I talked to Liz-”
My eyes widened. “You talked to Liz?”
When did he talked to her? Why am I not aware of that?!
“Yes. And she told me more about you and Bryan. She feel so guilty and she blames herself because you forced yourself to marry me.” He said.
“Nic…” I am hurting for Nic.
I feel guilty. I don’t want Nic to hear such things. As if to make him look like he is the villain here.
“I want you to marry me because you really want to marry me and not because you were force to marry me.” He confessed.
I looked at him intently.
“I want to marry you Nic, they did not force me to marry you.” I told him.
“Yes because you are running away from Liz and Bryan.” He said trying to make me confess.
I can’t answer him. I feel nothing but guilt.
I lower my head because of guilt. “Sorry Nic.”
He smiled at me. “Its okay. I just hope that in the end you will still choose me. But if not, it’s okay. I will be happy for you.”
You are not human Nic. You are an angel. You are a very kind person. I don’t think I deserve you.
“When did you talk to Liz?” I asked curiously.
“Yesterday. We met in a cafe.” He answered.
“What do you think of Liz?”
He frowned. “Why are you asking that? Are you playing cupid now? You want me to like your best friend?”
I bit the bottom of my lip. Guilty again.
“Because you’re so kind, I feel like I don’t deserve you. I think you and Liz are better suited.” I honestly told him.
He shook his head.
I bit my lips again. “Sorry.”
“Its okay. It looks like I need to also exert an effort in pursuing you. My rival is already ahead of me.” he chuckled.
“Nic you are already my fiancee.” I reminded him.
“Yes but we are not married yet.” He said seriously.
“Do whatever you want. But for me our wedding will happen! Unless you don’t want me to be your bride.” I hissed.
Yes Nic no matter what happens I will hold on to my decision. Its the least thing I can do for you.
