ALEX’S POV
My engagement party with Nic is already tomorrow. So I was very busy the past weeks. Fortunately, Sapphire’s busy schedule is over because we already cascade all the programs to all our dealer and all we need to do is to execute it.
I dismissed the sales and marketing team early because Nic and I had dinner.
Nic and I are together almost everyday. Because apart from getting to know stage we are also talking about the next inde movie he will make.
I am so excited about that movie. It will be my first time to see an actual shoot.
Honestly every time I was with Nic I was happy. She looks like Liz, he was easy to be with. It’s not like when I was Bryan it always makes me feel nervous and scared.
I was on my way to the lobby to wait for Nic when I saw Bryan carrying flowers.
Suddenly my forehead furrowed. To whom he will give those flowers?
Is it for Liz. Are they back together now?
I suddenly felt my heart hurt from thinking that possibility.
Shouldn’t I be happy for them?
I’m getting married anyway…
“Hey baby girl!” Bryan greet me with a huge smile in his face.
I gave him a forced smile. “Hi grandpa!”
I can see in his smiles and eyes that he is happy. But why can’t I seem to be happy for him.
He handed me the flower.
I did not accept the flowers. I just stared at them with a frown.
“For you baby girl!” still smiling he said.
My eyes widened in shock.
For me?
Why is he giving me flowers?
Is he happy now because I am marrying someone else?
I should be happy right? Because he seems to have moved on.
“For what?” I asked and still did not accept the flower.
“Because I’m courting you.” he cooly said.
My jaw dropped. “W-what? Are k-kidding me?”
“No. I’m serious. I talked to Liz she already moved on. That’s why I can now court you.” He said seriously.
“BRYAN ARE YOU CRAZY? I’M ALREADY ENGAGED! MY ENGAGEMENT PARTY WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW. SO WHAT IS THAT COURTING COURTING YOU ARE SAYING? “My voice rose.
My gosh what is he thinking.
He just shrugged.
I try to calm my self. I counted myself from 1-10 as my way of calming myself before I talked to him.
“Look Bryan, Nic and I are getting married. And he doesn’t deserve to be cheated. Can you think about what will he feel about what you are doing.” I told him almost pleading.
His face darkened. “Why did I also deserve to suddenly know that the woman I love, whom I have been waiting for, will suddenly get married just because she does not want to hurt her best friend?” He said seriously.
“Did you think about how I feel when you agreed to marry that Nic?” He added.
I have no answer. I am so guilty. I really wanted to escape our complicated situation that is why I agreed to marry Nic.
But still, Nic doesn’t deserve this.
“Bry look I’m sorry-” Bryan didn’t let me finish he already cut me off.
“Sorry? That’s all? Lex I can’t let you go. I know you like me too. If your are thinking about Liz, she said that she is okay with us you have nothing to worry about.” Bryan said desperately
“Bry, this is not only about us three anymore. Nic is already involve. He is a very nice guy, I don’t want to hurt him.” I honestly told him.
Bryan bitterly laughed “WHAT ABOUT ME ALEX? YOU CAN’T HURT THAT GUY SO YOU CHOOSE TO HURT ME? IS THAT IT ALEX?!” He shouted. I could see the anger in his eyes.
“I’m sorry Bry.” That’s all I can say to him.
“Lex this is the first time that I did this desperate thing! I’ve never been this desperate. Just now!”
He indeed looked desperate right now. And my heart feels hurt from what I am seeing now.
“I’m sorry Bry.” sorry Bry that’s all I can tell you.
“No Alex I will court you whether you like it or not.” He said with finality.
“B-but-” I was about to stop him when suddenly someone spoke from behind Bryan
“Okay. If that’s what you want.” Bryan and I both looked on the person who spoke.
It was Nic.
“You are allowing me to court her?” Bryan asked.
“Yes. May the best man win” Nic said while offering his right hand to seal the deal.
Bry smirked. And accepted his hand.
