Half an hour later, Amy emerged.
The cheongsam was the most revealing dress, showcasing a woman’s charm to the fullest. It accentuated her curves perfectly, just like Amy at this moment. The neckline was neat, accentuating special areas, the waist was slender, and the crucial parts were prominent. As the hem of the cheongsam passed the vital areas, it began to slit, revealing her long, slender, and fair legs. When the skirt swayed with her soft waist, it unknowingly captivated the hearts of many men.
She knew her actions were impulsive, but that was her personality. What did it matter if she gambled again? When her luck had turned this bad, what did she have left to care about?
She didn’t expect a love story with outstanding men and women to await her. She just wanted a luxurious deal, a gamble of the century.
Pushing open the dark red door.
It was very quiet inside, with only a spotlight on a round table, and the VIPs were sitting on the other side of a unidirectional glass wall.
Several girls were standing on the stage, doing self-presentations and introductions. Questions were occasionally asked through a microphone, and the voices were low, husky, or clear…
Amy had guessed too accurately. This was a place to find mistresses, a place for them to enjoy and have fun.
Men were like this; with money, they wanted to think with their lower halves. They desired sex with multiple women, and they wanted women to pamper and serve them for their pleasure. You could call them shameless and morally corrupt, but then what? You could only watch as the world descended into chaos, and love was trampled upon…
Several of the girls on stage turned to look at her. She was too eye-catching, like a spotlight, attracting all eyes.
“Amy, twenty-three years old, graduated from the Business School.” She lifted her chin slightly, trying to stay calm, but the men in the darkness were unexpectedly silent.
“Amy… um… do you have any special talents?” Finally, someone spoke, and the question was quite amusing.
In fact, Amy did laugh. Her watery eyes scanned the dark area where the voice came from, and she said slowly, word by word, “Sir, I believe you don’t need someone to play music and write poetry for you, right? Isn’t being beautiful enough? Also, I’m here for marriage, not to be a mistress. If any of you already have a wife, you don’t need to ask questions.”
The room fell completely silent.
Amy stood on the stage, facing the various greedy gazes cast from the darkness, her hands sweating.
“Why do you think you can captivate a man and make him marry you? There are many more beautiful than you.” A deep and mellow voice came from a slightly higher place, sounding like a gentle breeze passing through the moonlight.
Amy looked up, and through the darkness, she spoke softly, “Let’s make a bet.”
No one else upstairs said anything.
Amy breathed a sigh of relief or disappointment; she couldn’t tell.
Frank also seemed surprised because only two men had spoken to her, and the atmosphere was far less lively than before. Maybe it was because these people knew who she was?
Amy walked out, leaning against the wall. She shrugged at Frank, “Sorry for staying in your hotel for free.”
“No problem.” Frank smiled awkwardly.
At this moment, a man in a black suit hurried over, whispered something in Frank’s ear, and his eyes lit up. He immediately said to Amy, “Please follow me; someone wants to talk to you privately.”
“Who is it?” Amy asked suspiciously.
“Please.” The man in the suit extended his hand to her expressionlessly, and together with Frank, led Amy into a room at the end of the corridor.
This is a room filled with traditional Chinese decor. Behind a semi-transparent Chinese screen adorned with painted bridges and flowing water, stands a tall figure with his back to the screen. Judging by the silhouette, he is at least 6 feet tall, possessing a well-built frame. He is dressed in a shirt with sleeves rolled up, hands casually tucked in his pockets.
He looks very young!
Amy is surprised!
“What are your special talents?” she asks.
He tilts his head slightly, and Amy, peering through the screen, notices his handsome facial features. “I mean, besides playing the piano and composing poetry,” he repeats.
Amy furrows her brow slightly and whispers, “Being sensible. As a woman from my background, I’ve seen a lot, and I know how to be a suitable wife.”
“And?” He turns around, his tone carrying a hint of provocation and mockery.
Despite her displeasure, Amy still challenges him, “This sir, I have a condition. If you can offer me marriage, I’ll answer your questions; otherwise, there’s no need to waste each other’s time.”
“Why do you want marriage?” he asks after a brief silence.
“I need my man to be powerful, to help me reclaim our family, the Green family,” she says, pausing before adding softly, “In return, I will obey all your requests, except for murder, arson, or illegal activities.”
