“What do you want me to see?” Ash asked out of curiosity. His ears were itching to know. From the way Daisy spoke about it, he could tell it was very serious.
“You promise you’ll still see me as a friend, right?” Daisy asked again, just to be sure.
“I promise, just please tell me what you are going to show me,” Ash beckoned to her.
This could really change a lot of things that was why Daisy needed to be sure that Ash himself could take it. She didn’t want him to see her as someone who only came to destroy his life.
“I can’t tell you what it is, Ash. You might not even believe me if I do.”
Ash was more than ready to see what Daisy had to show him but his curiosity made him want to get a glimpse of what it would be even though he knew it was just a matter of time.
“If you want to really know what I have to say to you then you have to come with me right now. This is all I’m going to say to you.”
Daisy paid the bartender and off she went with Ash. When Ash wanted to use his car Daisy refused. She told him it would be better if they just took an Uber with them.
“But why? Why can’t we just use my car?” Ash was full of questions.
“You ask a lot of questions, Ash.”
“That’s because I need to know what’s happening. You can’t just tell me to leave my car here in the middle of the night by…
Ash took a second to glance at his watch –
…By more than twenty minutes past ten.”
Daisy was already getting fed up with Ash’s question. This was one of the reasons she refused to tell Ash what she was going to show him. Because she knew he was going to doubt her all through and make it very difficult for them to find out the truth.
The question that still remained unanswered was “What did she really want to show Ash?”
Daisy convinced him after a long bout of debate and questioning.
Ash was so uneasy while they were in the Uber. He kept on requesting to know what they were going to see.
At last, after twenty minutes of driving, Daisy ordered the Uber driver to pull over. Thru stepped out, in front of them was a very active and prestigious nightclub.
“Did you just bring me to party? If that’s the case I’ll like to tell you that I do not possess the luxury to be in such a place.”
“Shh!” Daisy shunned him from speaking any further. She led him to the door, holding his hand like they were a couple.
“Don’t give me that look, this is the only way you can get past the bouncers by the door.”
Daisy was just making sure that Ash wasn’t going to think out of lane. He might think she was just trying to get close to him.
“Don’t you notice anything?” Daisy asked him as they walked by the cars parked outside the club, the cars in the parking lot.
“I don’t!”
How would he when he was so focused on finding out what Daisy had to show him?
As they approached the entrance, Daisy took a pause –
“Are you sure you want to do this?” She was just trying to look out for him.
“Do you think that I’ll get here and cower away? Whatever it is, I’m more eager to find out now than I ever was.”
That was it. Daisy held him by the hand and took him through the bouncers at the door. A Landers could enter anywhere in the city he or she desired.
“Why are you taking me to a…”
Ash’s speech was cut short. The first person his eyes caught sight of when he stepped into the club was no other person than Vivian. He saw as she was being romanced and caressed by Mr. Lincoln.
“Vivian?”
Vivian was in a bigger shock when she turned and saw Ash staring at her in shock and disbelief.
“Ash? What are you doing here?”
“How dare you ask me that you whore!” Ash was ready to charge forward but he was stopped by Daisy. Lincoln’s men were ready to pounce on him. First she saved him from the truth he believed in which was a lie and secondly she saved him from being torn apart by Lincoln’s men.
It was a hell of a drama there. It was a good thing that Vivian was able to pull him out before the whole thing escalated beyond that.
Nelly had been trying Neuer’s number but it was either unavailable or ringing without him answering.
“What do you think is going to happen?” Nelly asked Amanda who had just finished singing her daughter to sleep.
“I told you before to just let him know. You see where this has gotten to?” Amanda tried not to, but it was Nelly’s fault and she at one time had to say it.
“I was so scared, Amanda. How could I have started explaining all of this to him back then?”
“Now you have to explain to him what happened back then and why you had to hide it from him! Doesn’t that sound like you have more explaining to do than you could have done if you had let him know back then?”
Amanda was right. Nelly blamed herself for always screwing things up when it mattered the most.
“How do I get to him and make him know how sorry I am? I just want him to listen to me.”
“He would have if you didn’t hit him.”
Nelly regretted that too but she was not to be blamed entirely for the way she reacted. He was speaking lowly of her and she had to make him stop even though she didn’t go about it the right way.
Amanda suggested that Nelly called Sandra. If Sandra hadn’t called since then, that meant Neuer hadn’t talked to her about it.
Just as she unlocked her phone to call Sandra, she heard the doorbell ring.
Amanda ran to get the door and behold, it was Neuer.
