Chapter 278 Ending 1

Book:The Revenge of My Alluring Wife Published:2024-6-4

Jasper’s expression remained unchanged as he glanced at Mia’s stomach and whispered softly, “The wedding can proceed.”
For the sake of the child, he could marry Mia, but if this woman continued to cause trouble, he would immediately sever this relationship.
Hearing his definitive answer, Mia breathed a sigh of relief. She had thought Jasper was going to call off the wedding.
Mia immediately waved to the person beside her, and the wedding march began to play as they gradually walked towards the aisle.
But suddenly, the large screen behind them went dark.
According to the usual procedure, it should have been showing their wedding photos and daily life snapshots.
The crowd looked on in confusion, furrowing their brows.
At that moment, Scarlett suddenly appeared. “Something’s wrong. Someone took the hard drive with the photos, and the backups on the computer have been deleted.”
Upon hearing this, everyone knew that someone was trying to cause trouble, and they immediately became alert.
“This wedding didn’t invite any reporters. If anyone leaves, there will be records, so let’s investigate. We have plenty of time to wait.”
“Yeah, we also want to see who’s so malicious, wanting to ruin someone’s wedding.”
“Since that’s the case, please cooperate with the body search, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding.”
Evelyn remained leaning in her place, observing the changes around her since Scarlett spoke up.
Sure enough, next to her, there was a paper bag hidden at some point.
Evelyn’s eyes filled with mockery in an instant. She didn’t expect that even in this lifetime, these two women would come up with such a malicious tactic.
In her previous life, they had put many embarrassing photos of her in the hard drive, along with fabricated images of her dating many men. They had also used the opportunity to humiliate her in front of all the guests.
Would this trick still work in this lifetime?
Evelyn opened the paper bag, exchanged the hard drive inside with another, and put it back in its place.
Over there, they had finished checking and was approaching Evelyn.
“Evelyn,” Scarlett whispered, “Can we take a look at your bag?”
“Sure, you can,” Evelyn replied aloud.
After that, the staff nearby stepped forward, turned Evelyn’s bag upside down, and found a paper bag in the corner of her sofa.
Upon opening it, they found a hard drive inside.
“It’s this one,” Scarlett’s eyes instantly lit up, then she asked Evelyn cautiously, “Evelyn, is this yours?”
She was afraid Evelyn wouldn’t admit it and had already prepared countless excuses. Unexpectedly, Evelyn just nodded.
“This is the hard drive I brought. Can’t I bring it to the wedding?”
“Evelyn!” Scarlett raised her voice in anger. “You’re still so stubborn.”
“I know you’ve never liked me, and I know you can be willful sometimes, but what day is today?”
She sighed heavily, her face filled with disappointment. “Today is your sister Mia’s wedding day. Why would you…”
Evelyn questioned Scarlett, “Excuse me, is this hard drive a limited edition?”
Scarlett froze. “No, it’s not.”
“Then why can’t I have one of the same kind?”
“Well, I…” Scarlett struggled to refute, “It’s just too coincidental.”
“Coincidence is your reason for falsely accusing me?” Evelyn continued to press.
“Whether it’s a false accusation or not, I’m not sure, Evelyn,” Scarlett reminded her.
Someone nearby immediately chimed in, “A hard drive is used to store things. To determine who it belongs to, why not just look at its contents?”
“Yeah, Evelyn, you don’t mind, do you?” Scarlett asked softly, her eyes already flickering with excitement.
They had planned for so long, waiting for this moment. Once the contents of the hard drive were revealed, Evelyn would have no way to turn back.
“Why waste time? Let’s just take a look directly,” some people nearby couldn’t bear it anymore.
“Evelyn,” Mia walked over, “If you have any grievances against me, you can tell me directly. But please don’t ruin my wedding, okay? I love Jasper very much, and I want to have a smooth and memorable wedding with him.”
Evelyn stared at her, then glanced at Jasper beside her, and asked softly, “Are you sure you want?”
Facing Evelyn again, Jasper’s heart pounded wildly. He took several deep breaths before barely calming down. His eyes unabashedly stared at Evelyn’s hands. It was these hands that had played such beautiful piano pieces, accompanying him through the most difficult time of his life.
The person he was looking for was clearly her, and the one he wanted to spend his life with was Evelyn.
But all of this was ruined.
Why was Mia pregnant? Jasper felt the distance between himself and Evelyn growing wider and wider.
Evelyn lost her patience and asked coldly, “Are you deaf? I’m asking you a question.”
“Evelyn, don’t speak to Jasper like that,” Mia immediately stood in front of Jasper.
Jasper glanced at her expressionlessly and waved his hand. “I agree.”
Evelyn reminded, “I’m just advising you, it’s best not to open this hard drive. After all, there’s no medicine for regret in this world.”
Mia’s expression turned slightly cold, clearly not intending to heed her advice.
Evelyn leaned back on the sofa, indicating that they could do as they pleased.
As the footage played out, the entire venue was stunned once again. Initially, when Mia’s photos were displayed, everyone concluded that this was indeed the missing piece from the wedding scene. Mia and Scarlett weren’t surprised either, thinking they hadn’t deleted it properly. If anyone doubted, they could easily explain later.
But as the footage continued, the content became increasingly revealing. From Mia’s various glamour shots to her auctioning herself off in a schoolgirl outfit at an auction house. Many in the crowd recognized the stage behind Mia.
“Wow, I never expected this. Jasper’s bride is actually bought from an auction.”
” I wonder how many times she’s been sold.”
“Hahaha, I suddenly doubt if the child in Mia’s belly is really Jasper’s… Oh my, it gets even worse!”
The screen was now filled with explicit content, especially when Mia was with Adrian, it was embarrassing.
“Mum, what’s this? Turn it off, turn it off!” Mia went crazy. She rushed up and quickly unplugged the hard drive, but the screen behind her continued to run, with the photos becoming increasingly inappropriate.
“No, this is someone framing me. You have to believe me, Jasper…” Mia nervously approached Jasper, “You believe me, right? These are all fabricated, I never did any of this.”
Jasper resisted the urge to vomit as Mia grabbed his sleeve.
He stepped back, shaking off Mia’s hand. “Stay away from me, you’re filthy.”
“Jasper! I really didn’t…”
“You didn’t? How long do you plan to keep lying to me? That segment with Adrian, it should be the night I rescued you, right?”
“Mia, what else are you lying to me about?”
Seeing his gaze fall to her abdomen, knowing what he was doubting, Mia immediately started to explain, “Jasper, the child is ours. Really, why don’t you believe me?”
“Because you make me feel disgusted,” Jasper retorted sharply. “The wedding is off, as for the child in your belly. After it’s born, there will be a paternity test. If it’s mine, I’ll take care of it.”
“Jasper! Are you saying you don’t want me anymore? But we love each other so much. Did that bitch Evelyn say something to you? Did she seduce you?”
“Shut up,” Jasper snapped. “Is going to auction to sleep with other men your way of loving me?”
“And that blood, it’s fake, right? You’ve been lying to me from the start, Mia. I underestimated how disgusting you are.”
With that said, he went up on stage and announced the cancellation of the wedding.
He looked at Evelyn, wanting to explain, but sadly realized he had no position, no qualification.
Mia watched his retreating figure and instantly collapsed.
“Mum, Jasper doesn’t want me anymore.”
Scarlett was still busy turning off the screens, finally finding the hidden plug behind the screen. Unfortunately, when the screen went black, most of the exciting content had already been played out.
She hurried back to comfort her daughter. “It’s okay. After all, you and Jasper are already registered. Even without the wedding, you are still the mistress of The Reid family, legally recognized as his wife.”
Hearing this, Mia felt a little relieved. But her wedding, it was ruined just like that.
And that bitch Evelyn, why isn’t she dead?
Mia’s eyes were filled with resentment as she looked viciously in Evelyn’s direction and got up to confront her.
“Evelyn, what kind of grudge do you have against me? Why would you set me up like this?”
People nearby shifted their attention to watch the drama unfold.
Evelyn rubbed her ears with her hands and retorted, “I set you up? Did I release those photos? Or did I not warn both of you?”
Everyone nodded at her words.
Seeing the surrounding looks of disgust and coldness, Mia gritted her teeth in anger. “If it wasn’t for you fabricating these things to frame me, how could they have been released?”
“Fabricating such things to defame others is a crime. Do you think I won’t call the police?”
