The driver arrived earlier than expected, knocking on her door. Roxanne was still zipping her dress when she heard this, quickly asking who the person was.
“I’m your driver. I assume Mr. Rei Daniel has told you about me.” A deep voice sounded from beyond the door.
“A-ah!” She let out unintentionally, seeing as she hadn’t even worm her shoes yet.
“One second!”
Roxanne’s eyes instantly glowed, causing her entire body to surge with untold energy. It was like electricity welled up within her, giving her extreme vigor. It had been a while since she had relied on this power.
In a flash, she zipped her dress completely, controlling her strength in order not to break the contraption. She proceeded to put on her flat shoes, and truly… in no time at all she was done.
“Whew!” She heaved in relief, rushing to the door.
Roxanne opened the door and was met with the sight of a buff, dark-skinned man. He wore a nice tuxedo, making him seem excessively formal for a driver. The man was bald, having shades to cover his eyes.
‘What’s the deal with this?’ Roxanne asked herself uncomfortably.
It wasn’t like she was going to a ball or anything. It was just the airport. Even the dress she wore felt a little over-the-top.
Rei Daniel had bought it for her and had it ready by the time she lodged into her room, another thing he had made available for her after she mentioned being stalked in her last one.
It was a blue gown, long, yet very pretty. The way the outfit hugged her body made Roxanne’s shape pop out, and her dark blue shoes made her appear even more dignified.
Roxanne now understood why he got a driver for her, instead of allowing her to go to the hotel looking like this. She was initially worried about how she would appear or cope with such an outfit, since it was winter. However, it appeared Daniel had also thought of that.
“For you, ma’am.” The driver spoke calmly, holding a bag and heading it over to her.
Roxanne took it hesitantly. Opening the bag to see it’s content, she saw the solution to the gown she had on.
“A fur coat… you’ve got to be kidding me.” Roxanne said to herself, amused that Daniel had gone to such lengths.
‘This is definitely too flashy!’
Usually, people wore casual and stocked clothing for winter. It was strange for her to be wearing a dress in winter, yet Daniel chose this for her. While she wasn’t worried of the cold, due to her werewolf identity, Roxanne obviously didn’t want to stand out too.
With the coat, she would be able to at least cover the blue outfit she had on, but even the coat looked expensive and luxurious.
“Just how much money does this guy have to waste? Didn’t he say his agency was having problems?”
“Are you ready, ma’am?” The tall, muscular dark man asked.
Roxanne, who had already worn the coat, and found it to be plenty satisfying nodded. Though, she didn’t like how the man addressed her.
“Please, don’t call me ma’am. I’m Roxanne.” She smiled.
The driver nodded stiffly, moving from the door and allowing her to come out. Feeling awkward in her attire, Roxanne stepped out of her suite and made her way downstairs, with the driver directly beside her.
He took her luggage, of course, carrying them as though they were nothing. His appearance was not just for show.
‘His tuxedo really is weird.’ Roxanne thought to herself, seeing such a dignified-looking man carrying luggage.
At this point, after everything Daniel had done, Roxanne knew that nothing else could surprise her. She checked out of the hotel, and her macho driver led the way to the car.
Who could have expected the surprise that was waiting for her there?!
“T-this is…” She gawked at the beast that awaited her.
The blue car shone well in the dark, underground parking lot, and as her driver pressed the remote key, the car’s lights brightly illuminated the space.
It was even more luxurious than the one she had seen Daniel use in the past. This was just to take her to the Airport?
The driver opened the door to the passenger’s seat behind the driver’s section. Roxanne obediently slipped in, thanking the man underneath her breath.
He nodded and made for the driver’s seat.
Revving up the engine, the exquisite machine silently hummed to life. The driver skillfully turned the wheels, reversing, and then driving forward, until they were out of the Car park.
“Our destination will take about fifteen minutes, ma- I mean, Roxanne.” The driver stated, leaving the hotel grounds as it joined the major road intersection.
Roxanne felt awkward. Just sitting in the car with a stranger felt weird.
“Uh, what’s your name?” She finally asked, at least trying to make conversation.
“Paul.”
His deep voice sounded even more so than usual. Roxanne interpreted it as him letting her know he would much rather not have any small talk. And so, taking the hint, Roxanne decided to spend the fifteen minutes journey staring at the passing cars and houses.
For a werewolf, fifteen minutes could be quite long.
“Haa, finally here.” Roxanne heaved in relief.
The Airport was closer than she thought. Fortunately, they didn’t get to spend fifteen minutes on the road. Roxanne checked her phone, and it was just barely past 1:30pm.
Yup, time was definitely moving slow today.
It didn’t take them too long to spot Rei Daniel. In fact, the moment Roxanne saw him, she wished she hadn’t decided to come so soon.
Why? Because of the paparazzi.
Swarms of people were around Rei Daniel, and people took pictures with him, taking videos with their phones as he sat in the general lobby.
‘My goodness… why didn’t I consider this?!’ Roxanne’s mind rang.
Usually, weren’t there supposed to be celebrity lobbies for people like Daniel, who were sensations in the international world?
Yet, there he was, magnetizing attention like no man’s business.
“Yup, there’s no way I’m going near him now.” She muttered to herself, turning away to find a place to hide.
“Oh, hey Roxanne!” Daniel suddenly called out.
Roxanne froze as she heard him call for her. The crowd around him also turned and looked in her direction. Her eyes were widened as she turned to glare at the culprit.
Daniel was smiling, seeming to enjoy himself as he waved at her.
“Hold up. Does he mean the Roxanne he was calling a whole back?”
“Is she his girlfriend? Mr. Rei Daniel is she your girlfriend?
“Ohh, she’s pretty cute.”
The cameras and phones on Daniel slowly tilted and became focused on Roxanne. She was dazed, but everything began to make sense to her.
The reason he chose such a catchy outfit for her, the reason he brought a driver for her, and the reason he had been waiting at the airport all this time.
He wanted this to happen!
“Daniel, you…” Roxanne gritted her teeth.
The paparazzi rushed to her, and as soon as she was about to lash out at Daniel and shut everyone up, she heard a beep from her phone.
She opened it, only to see a message from Daniel himself.
~This is necessary for the agency. By boosting your popularity from the get-go, we’ll boost your fan base. I’m so sorry about this!~
Well, it appeared Roxanne would have to swallow the pill that was being forced down her throat… whether she liked it or not!
