“So… What were you saying earlier?”
Roxanne asked this, sitting on one of the two couches in the living room. Her eyes were transfixed on Rei.
The star wrestler, now in Roxanne’s suite, became uncomfortable, slightly flushed by the unexpected development.
This wasn’t the first time he had been to a girl’s room, but somehow it felt different now. He didn’t even know the real name of this girl, yet he couldn’t stop being enthralled by her.
“Well…?!” Roxanne pushed, wondering why her guest had not spoken any words since he got in.
“Ah- Sorry about that” Rei said, quickly snapping out of his thoughts.
“Black Cat, or what should I call you…” Rei Daniel said hesitantly.
“Black Cat is fine” Roxanne sharply responded.
Her response made Rei feel a sting within him. Why was she being so cold to him all of a sudden? Even when they walked, she hardly spoke any words to him or even looked toward his direction.
“Is she really mad?”
Suddenly, he began to feel more self conscious, though he tried to hide it. He wondered what was going on in the Black Cat’s head, and became worried that she wouldn’t take his offer.
“No, I shouldn’t think that way. I’ve come this far already! She wouldn’t invite me if she wasn’t interested in the slightest” Rei thought to himself.
What the hunky and sexy athlete didn’t realize was that he wasn’t the only one with crazy thoughts. Roxanne had been fighting an insane level of nervousness. She didn’t know how to explain it, but her heart kept beating fast, and it felt like her insides were about to burst.
“This is just like-” She thought, remembering how she felt about her mate.
Still, she had to keep things under control, so she switched to her stern mode, hardly releasing any emotion. It was the only way to survive.
“So, Black Cat. After tonight’s match I have no doubt that you would do well in the wrestling industry. Just hear me out-”
It was already nearing three in the morning, yet the two of them, sitting opposite themselves, began a life-changing conversation.
Asher walked past the various rooms, staring strangely at the structure the hotel had. This was his first time in such a glamorous place, so he couldn’t help but take the sight in.
“Your room is just up ahead-”
One of the receptionists was speaking to him in her flustered voice, chattering away and explaining many things he considered unnecessary.
He ignored her for the most part, but paid attention using his heightened senses, in case she mentioned something important.
“Room 302. Room 303. Room 304.”
As he counted, walking past the suites of people, Asher’s heart beat faster, his body felt hot and active, as though anticipating something.
“What’s this…?” He mumbled, still walking further.
>THUMP. THUMP. THUMP< Suddenly, he stopped dead in his tracks as he felt the strongest reaction in that moment. He looked at the door as it read 'Room 307'. His eyes twitched, and his body instinctively reacted to touch even the surface of the door. His lips quivered as he considered the possibility of what may lie beyond the four angles of the obstacle before him. He had to find out! "U-Um, sir… That room is currently occupied." The receptionist quickly mentioned, interrupting his thoughts. "O-Oh, is that so?" Asher mumbled. A thought suddenly flashed in his head, making him wonder. "Is the guest perchance a girl?" Asher asked, turning to the woman who remained nervous in his presence. "I-I'm not supposed to say… Client confidentiality and all… I-I'm sorry sir" She stuttered. Asher felt annoyed by the woman's response, but since this was not his kingdom, it wasn't like he could always get what he wanted. It was enough that they had provided him a room for free since no one occupied it. The explanations they gave were also helpful. Still, he didn't care. He wanted to know. "Tell me… Now" He said, staring deeply into the woman's eyes. Her body trembled as he did so, making her face turn red. "R-Right away!" She responded. Quickly bringing out a smart device shaped like a phone, the receptionist checked the entry log of the hotel rooms. "Room 307… Oh, right here" She said, pointing to the spot on the screen. Asher quickly moved to see the screen of the device the girl held. Right there, he saw the information and his eyes widened. It was a girl. An adult too… Could it be? "Oh, I realize now. So this is the girl…" The receptionist mentioned thoughtfully. "Does she know about Roxanne?" Asher asked himself. "What do you know about her?" Asher's voice sounded desperate, not like his usual calm tone, shocking the woman he asked. "W-well, this girl checked in just moments before you arrived…" A smile began to form on Asher's face. It had to be- "… With her boyfriend. They both seemed happy and flustered at the same time. I can only assume that they wanted to do… Well… That's all I know." The receptionist blurted out. "Eh?!" Asher's eyes bulged in shock. He didn't want to picture it, Roxanne with another man… Mating! "N-No, it can't be her! Are you sure?" Asher asked, refusing to believe what he heard. "Y-Yes! It's very late, so not many people check in at this time. She's the only one who did so, with her boyfriend… They were probably returning from the club or something, ''she added. Asher's heart throbbed as he glanced at the door before him. Within him, he still wanted to tear down that obstruction and see for himself. But, the fear of meeting something he didn't want to see held him back. If it wasn't Roxanne and he gave in to his impulses, then that would turn out to be very catastrophic. But, it would be worse if it was Roxanne he found there, with another man. Asher didn't know how he would react to that. "Is this how you felt… When you saw me with Camilla…?" He mumbled to himself. "W-What now?" The receptionist asked, looking dazed as she expectantly gazed into his eyes. Asher gripped his chest and calmed himself. With a heavy sigh, he turned away from the door and looked at his guide. "Let's keep going. Lead the way" He mumbled defeatedly. The receptionist smiled as they walked further away from the room, resuming her endless chatter. Within her, she was relieved. For a moment, the man she was so enthralled with was showing so much concern for another woman. "There's no way that bitch is stealing my man! He's mine alone!" The Wolf Art [Charm], unlike [Domination], doesn't force absolute obedience. It instead makes the target so infatuated with the target that they do not even think of defying their desires. However, once the target becomes too infatuated, they grow jealous and possessive, warping their actions. The receptionist, while under Asher's art, painted the guest in a terrible light in order to discourage him from developing further interest in her. She did this entirely out of goodwill and affection for him, after all .. She was in love. As she beamed walking by the side of such a strong and dashing man, she couldn't help but squeal internally. Asher, on the other hand, could not be less concerned about the existence of the receptionist. He was worried. "I'm running out of time…" He thought. Remembering the last 'Convergence' of the Alphas, and 'His' appearance, he had very limited time to find his fated one. "Where are you, Roxanne?!" He asked himself in frustration. Time was not on their side at all! "What was that just now… That feeling…" Roxanne thought to herself with bulging eyes. Her heart thumped loudly, giving her unrest as her body throbbed. Quickly, Roxanne jumped from her couch and rushed to the entrance of her room. She could feel the fleeting feelings, but she knew the cause was nearby. As she hurriedly opened the door and stepped outside to see who it was, Roxanne was met with an empty hallway. Only one person was in sight. The receptionist she met at the entrance. She was entering a room some distance from hers, and in a moment, their eyes crossed. The receptionist glared at Roxanne, making her wonder what the matter was. "Did I feel it was wrong?" Roxanne asked, slightly placing her hand on her chest. The raging feeling within subsided, making her sigh. Still, she didn't know if it was just her imagination or desperation… But the scent wafting through the air certainly felt like only one person. "Asher…" She muttered dreamily.
