“Daddy! Where are we going?” Caliber asked with his joyful voice. This is the very first time that Nate takes Caliber with him. Caliber is so happy knowing he will have time with his dad.
“We’re going to the mall with your Aunt Beatrice,” Nate said, so Caliber turned to look at Beatrice, who was watching them from behind. She has this smile on her face while looking at them as she sees how happy Caliber is. On the other hand, Nate has this forced smile on his face while looking at Caliber and holding his tiny hand. He couldn’t take pride in his being with this child.
In fact, Nate couldn’t feel that Caliber was his child. He felt nothing when Caliber was around.
“Is she your friend?” Caliber asked and looked to Nate, who just sighed and nodded as an answer. Beatrice saw that and felt that Nate was forcing himself to be with Caliber, so Beatrice tapped Nate’s shoulder, which caused him to look at her.
“Caliber, can I speak with your dad for a second?” Beatrice asked Caliber, so the child nodded in response and played with his car.
“You look like shit forcing yourself to be with him,” Beatrice said, so Nate scratched his head.
“Make him feel that you’re excited, Nate. He’s your child,” Beatrice said, so Nate rolled his eyes and returned to hold Caliber’s hand again.
“Let’s go?” Nate asked Caliber, and the child smiled widely.
“Yey! How about mom?” Caliber asked, so Nate’s face fell blank. Beatrice saw that, so she held Caliber’s hand, which caused Caliber to look at her.
“She’s busy; as of now, your dad and I will go with you to the mall. Is that okay with you?” Beatrice asked, so Caliber nodded and smiled.
“Of course! As long as Dad is with me.” Caliber said and looked to Nate, who forcefully smiled at him. Beatrice smiled at Caliber and glared badly at Nate.
The three go to the nearest mall and spend time with Caliber. Beatrice is so happy watching Caliber play with Nate. Nate was forced to play with Caliber as he wanted to sit beside Beatrice and talk to her all day.
“Caliber, do you want this?” Beatrice asked and pointed to the giant stuffed toy display. Caliber nodded, so Beatrice got it and brought it to him.
After that, the three of them eat in the most expensive restaurant in the mall, which makes Caliber so happy. On the other hand, Nate just rolled his eyes every time Beatrice was spoiling Caliber. She always gets what Caliber wants and gives him so many toys.
“Don’t spoil him so much,” Nate said, so Beatrice just rolled her eyes to him and didn’t listen to him.
“Aunt Beatrice, why are you so kind to me?” Caliber, who was eating his ice cream, asked. Beatrice smiled at him and patted his head.
“Because you deserve to be treated like this,” Beatrice said, so Caliber smiled at him and looked to the fountain. The three of them are eating ice cream while spending their time sitting in front of the fountain.
“I hope mom will treat me like this.” Caliber said, so Beatrice’s smile slowly faded as she heard his words. She looks at Nate, licking his ice cream and listening to them.
“Your mom is a busy person. You need to understand that she needs to work for your future.” Beatrice said, so Caliber turned to look at her.
“Dad is also busy because he’s always in his office and signing papers when I visit him.” Caliber said, so Beatrice turned to look at Nate, who had stopped eating his ice cream.
“Yes, they’re working for your future,” Beatrice said, so Caliber smiled at her.
“My real mom is not as busy as my mom.” Caliber said, which caused them to stop and frown.
“What do you mean?” Nate asked while looking at Caliber seriously. Caliber licks his ice cream and turns his head to look at Nate.
“My real mom used to bring me to the park and play with our dogs, while my real dad used to bring me gifts when he returned home.” Caliber said, so Beatrice turned to look at Nate, whose aura was severe.
“What do you mean by your words?” Nate asked and stood up from his seat. Caliber sensed Nate was mad, so he hid behind Beatrice’s back.
“What do you mean by your words, Caliber?” Nate asked again.
“Nate, you’re scaring him,” Beatrice said and hugged Caliber.
“I’m just asking him what he meant about his words?” Nate said and was about to pull Caliber away from Beatrice when Beatrice pushed Nate to protect Caliber.
“Nate, you scaring your son,” Beatrice said, but Nate’s forehead frowned.
“Did you hear what he said?” Nate asked Beatrice,
“I heard it, but don’t scare him like that,” Beatrice said. Caliber started to cry as he sensed Nate was mad because of what he said.
“I’m sorry daddy…” Caliber said. Beatrice made him stop and wipe his tears; everyone passing by in their direction started looking at them.
“Shh, stop crying…” Beatrice said this was her weakness; once she saw a child crying, it seemed like her heart was tearing apart.
“Dad is mad at me…” Caliber said and wiped his own tears.
“No. No.. Daddy is not mad at you, okay?” Beatrice said and turned to look at Nate and give him the signal. Nate took a deep breath and sat in front of Caliber.
“You’re not mad at him, right, Nate?” Beatrice asked, so Nate nodded.
“Yeah, I’m sorry if I scare you,” Nate said while looking at Caliber. Caliber stops crying and wipes his tears, which Beatrice helps him and smiles at Caliber.
“But, what do you mean about your words?” Nate asked while looking at Caliber.
“Caliber!” The three turned to look, who shouted Caliber’s name, and saw Eille walking towards their direction with her angry face and unexplained aura.
She pulled Caliber away from Beatrice, and her assistant grabbed Caliber.
“What did you do to my son?” Eille asked while looking at Nate and Beatrice.
