An Enemies Ambush

Book:The White Wolf's Luna Published:2024-6-4

Beatrice and Nate couldn’t stop Rayver from his plan, as he wanted to see and visit his mother and father. This is the first time in Rayver’s life that he sees his family again after decades of losing them. Rayver is not mad at his father or mother; Rayver is probably mad at his twin, Danver, but it doesn’t mean that Rayver likes to get revenge for what Danver did to him. Rayver wants him to hear Danver say sorry for what he did.
Nate looked to Beatrice, who was thinking of something right now. Beatrice was concerned about Rayver. She knew what would happen if someone caught him asking for information about his brother, or worse, his brother would endanger him.
“You seem to be thinking a lot,” Nate said, so Beatrice turned to look at him and took a deep breath.
“Aren’t you concerned about your beta?” Beatrice asks, so Nate looks at Rayver, who is talking to Axle. Rayver probably gives Axle a suggestion or lesson for being a Beta.
“I do, but that’s Rayver. I knew him since we were kids.” Nate said and remembered the first day that Nate talked to Rayver.
“If he said something, he would surely do that, no buts, no excuse,” Nate added and looked to Beatrice.
“I remember when my first Beta resigned, Rayver was the one who knew about it first, and he suddenly volunteered to me to be my next Beta. I don’t like that idea because I know that, like me, he’s also from a decent tribe, yet I couldn’t do anything to stop him as he already started the ritual as my next Beta.” Nate said as he remembered how Rayver became his Beta.
Beatrice smiles and looks at Rayver.
“He’s real dedicated to his words.” She said and took a deep breath. “I will order Axle to go with him if he needs help.” She added that Nate looked at him and was amazed at her beauty. Beatrice noticed how he looked, so she turned to look at him and rolled her eyes.
“What’s with that look, Nate?” Beatrice asked. Nate smiled and turned to Rayver, who was now approaching them.
“I will go to our land by tomorrow,” Rayver said, so Beatrice turned to look to Axle, who was approaching them, too.
“My Beta will join you,” Beatrice said. The moment Axle stood before her, Axle looked to Rayver and back at Beatrice.
“Join in what?” Axle asked.
“I can handle it alone,” Rayver said, so Beatrice shook her head and looked to Nate, who was listening to them.
“Nate and I decided that Axle will join you, so if there’s an emergency, we will know it immediately and give you backup,” Beatrice said. Rayver turns to look at Nate, who is looking at him.
“She’s right. We’re concerned about your safety, especially since you will go to the place of Sun Face organization. Many Alpha’s from that organization are seeking a war with our organization.” Nate said, so Rayver smiled and nodded.
“If you both wanted that, I would follow it,” Rayver said, so Beatrice smiled at him.
“We will go now,” Nate said, standing in his seat. Beatrice watched him and nodded.
“Axle, we will see each other here before the sun rises tomorrow,” Rayver said. Axle nodded to him as the answer. Beatrice stands in her seat to occupy them in her mansion’s gate.
“You should hear securities before Axle leaves. You should still prioritize your safety,” Nate said to Beatrice as they started to walk from the exit door.
“No one will hurt me here. This place is safe.” Beatrice said and faced Nate as they were all in front of the gate.
“Take care,” Nate said, so Beatrice nodded. Nate saw Beatrice still wearing her wedding ring with Quiver, so he smiled bitterly and hid his pain.
“We will go now,” Nate said, so Beatrice nodded.
“Take care of your flight for tomorrow, Rayver,” Beatrice said, so Rayver nodded at her and smiled. As she’s watching them walk to their car, a black-tinted armored van stops in front of her gate, and from there, a man who’s handling a gun comes, which Nate immediately sees and runs back to Beatrice to push her from the safe side of her house.
A noise from the gun was heard from the mansion, and Beatrice saw how the bullet sank into the plant’s pot.
“What the fuck is that?!” Nate asked and looked to Rayver and Axle, hiding behind the gate. A few minutes later, they heard the armored van start and drive away from their place. Rayver takes a peek from the entrance and gives them a signal that the man with the gun has already left.
Nate turns to look at Beatrice and check on her; he immediately feels she’s scared and shocked because of what happened.
“Are you okay?” Nate asked Beatrice. She just nodded her head in answer.
“What is that?” Beatrice asked. Nate held her hands as he saw those shaking in fear.
“We don’t know,” Axle said.
“Those are probably from the Sun Face organization. Remember what Isaac told us earlier?” Nate asked Beatrice, so Beatrice suddenly remembered what Isaac said, that the Sun Face organization could kill them even if they were not in their organization’s place.
“We will stay here,” Nate said, so Beatrice turned to look at him. “We will stay here and won’t leave you because of what happened earlier,” Nate added, taking his phone and dialing Isaac’s number.
On the other hand, Eille is waiting for someone not far from Beatrice’s house. An armored van stopped before her, and the gang leader inside that van came out.
“We already did what you said.” The man said. Eille smirked and handed him the money. The man counts it first and smiles at Eille.
“Are you sure you just wanted her to get scared? We could kill her if you want, just triple the price.” The man said. Eille shook her head.
“I will be the one who will kill her in the future.” She said and closed her car’s window.
