The Dark past of the Beta

Book:The White Wolf's Luna Published:2024-6-4

Rayver was from the West of Polanord Land, where the Hamas Clan lives. His family is just ordinary people from the land, but his Father, Chato, is famous in their land as he is the Beta of their Alpha, Tramaloid. When Rayver was a child, his father always brought him to work as he wanted him to be the next Beta of the next Alpha. And because of that, Danver, his identical twin brother, is jealous in his heart of seeing them close to each other.
Their mother, Tara, always makes Denver feel everyone in the family likes him, but what she gives is the opposite of what he feels.
“Mom, can I play with Denver later?” Rayver asked his mom who was cooking their food; his mom looked at him and shook her head.
“Your father told me that you must focus on your school paper today; later in the afternoon, he will pick you up and bring you to his work to see the Alpha’s son,” Tara said to his young child, Rayver pouted and look out in the window and saw his twin cleaning their backyard.
“Can I help him instead?” Rayver asked. Tara looked out the window to see who he was referring to; she just took a deep breath and put down the utensil she held.
“Rayver, you must listen to your father. He wanted you to finish your school papers now, as he will pick you up later.” She said, so Rayver looked at his mom.
“Can I bring Danver later? I wanted him to see the Alpha’s son, too.” Rayver said, but his mom smiled sadly and shook her head.
“I don’t know, it’s up to your dad if he will bring Danver or not,” Tara said, so Rayver sighed and looked at his brother again.
“Why are you mistreating us? I got all the attention from you and Dad, but Denver is different.” Rayver asked, so his mom just held his soft cheek and smiled.
“Because your Dad wanted a different profession for the both of you. Your dad wanted you to be a Beta like him someday, while he wanted Denver to be a farmer so he would handle our farm in the future.” Tara explained.
“But I wanted to be with Danver. We can’t play with each other anymore.” Rayve objected. His mom just smiled at him and hugged him.
“You will understand everything when you grow up,” Tara said, looking at Danver from the window.
Years later, when Danver sneaks out to follow his father alone to his work, he follows him until his father talks to the Alpha and hears everything about their conversation.
Jealousy in Danver’s heart rises as he hears that Rayver will be the Beta of the clan. With that anger, the innocent nature of the young Danver results in him playing like a villain in Rayver’s life.
He changes his appearance, how he dresses, and how Danver talks to his dad. Danver imitates Rayver, acts like Rayver, and tricks everyone around him into thinking he is Rayver and his brother is Danver.
One day… when Rayver is about to go with his dad, everything starts to mess up.
“Dad, are we gonna go to Mr. Tramaloid today?” Rayver asks while he’s fixing his clothes. He suddenly stopped and was stunned as he saw Danver with his dad ready to go.
“You will leave here alone. Your mom will join us today. Keep your eye on our farm and feed all the pigs.” His dad said so Rayver’s forehead frowned and looked at his twin with confused eyes.
“What do you mean, dad?” Rayver asked, so his mom turned to look at him and noticed that he was already dressed up and ready to go.
“Sweaty, what did I tell you last night? I’ve already explained it to you, don’t I?” Tara asked so Rayver’s forehead frowned more as he couldn’t understand what was happening now.
“Are you going with Denver today?” Rayver asked, so his mom and Dad’s forehead frowned and looked at Danver.
“What do you mean, Denver? I am Rayver.” Danver said calmly, but Rayver felt his brother’s playful voice.
“No, I am Rayver,” Rayver said. That’s why his dad pushed Rayver back to his room, which shocked him.
“Don’t make any scene now, Danver. Change your clothes and do your job on our farm.” His father said with his serious voice. Rayver watched them leave that day and couldn’t process what happened that time.
Because Rayver was left alone in their house and didn’t even know what to do with the farm work, he cried and started to get nervous about where to start. He can’t figure out what to do first as all of their farm animals are making loud noises, which trigger him most to cry.
When his father, mother, and brother came home, his dad got mad seeing him not finish all the work and even created a mess on the farm.
“You will stay here for two nights!” His angry father said and pushed him inside the small box near the highway.
“Dad, please! Believe me, I am Rayver, Danver is imita-”
“Shut up! You’re a disgrace in our family and even in our race!” His father said, which stopped him. At that time, Rayver knew why his dad couldn’t accept Danver as he believed that Danver was a product of the sin of their mom and child from another man.
The rain comes, and the small box where Rayver is starts to be destroyed by the water. Rayver, who is crying, looks to their house and hopes that his mom will get him in his place, but hours later, no one dares to get him and let him in the house.
“Mom… Dad… it’s so cold here.” Rayver whispered to himself as he was already showering from the rain.
He’s cold and wants to go to a warm place, but his dad puts a lock in the box, which he can’t open.
“What are you doing there?” The cold young Rayver looked up and saw an exquisite young man looking at him inside the stunning car.
“M-mom… d-dad… I’m Rayver…” the weak young Rayver said before he passed out. The young Elegant man, Nate, looks at his dad’s Beta.
“Get him and take him with us,” Nate ordered, which the old man immediately followed.
