Minutes later, Beatrice arrived at the Northern Woods, where the meeting was held. She’s with Axle, and she notices the different aura of Axle as they arrive at the place.
“Are you okay?” Beatrice asked while looking at Axle with her concerned eyes. Axle turned to look at her and smiled and nodded, but Beatrice didn’t believe him, so she took a deep breath and tapped his shoulder.
“You know, you can tell me everything you want,” Beatrice said, so Axle bowed and took a deep breath.
“Honestly, I hate this place,” he said, so Beatrice was stunned after hearing his words.
“Then, why did you still choose to accompany me here?” Beatrice asked. Axle looked at her and smiled bitterly.
“Because I believed that I needed to face my fears,” Axle answered, so Beatrice looked at him with worried eyes. She didn’t know why Axle hated this place, and she had no time to ask him as the organization’s secretary suddenly stood before them.
“You’re?” The secretary asked, so they both looked at each other for a second before they looked back to the secretary.
“She’s Beatrice Vougch, the new Alpha of the Vougch Clan.” Axle introduced, so the secretary looked at the list and smiled at them as it turned to look back at the two.
“It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Vougch. Please come in. The members are waiting for your presence.” The secretary said so. Beatrice suddenly felt awkward and nervous at the same time after she heard it.
Axle looked at Beatrice and signaled her to go, so Beatrice took a deep breath before walking inside the building. Axle follows her from the back as he knows that Beatrice is now nervous as this is the first time she will face the other Alpha member of the organization.
On the other hand, Nate is already sitting on his chair as all of them are waiting for the arrival of the last Alpha.
“We should punish her for waiting for us so long,” Craig said with his playful voice and the other Alpha.
“Don’t be so harsh to the new Alpha of the Vougch clan. She might not know about the punishment of latecomers.” Athena, the Alpha of the Snow clan, said, so Nate took another deep breath as he knew that Beatrice always came late. He knows how Beatrice moves and expects her to arrive late.
“Nate, you look so tensed. Are you bothered by the new Alpha of Vougch Clan?” Craig asked.
“Come on, why would he even get tensed to a woman? Remember, He is Nate, the most powerful Alpha in town.” Donna, the Alpha of Megatrahnva, said and laughed. Nate kept his cool even though he knew some of their jokes were already disrespectful to his ears.
“Remember how he fought Athena back then?” Craig asked as he remembered how Nate fought with Athena, the most influential Alpha in town. “It created chaos, right? Because Nate attacked her even though he knew that Athena was a woman.” Valir, the Alpha of NorthenVille Clan, said. Nate looked at him and smirked.
“Then, she must not messed with me that time as I didn’t consider gender,” Nate said, so Athena smirked and laughed.
“Come on, don’t you guys bring back what is past? Thanks to Quiver, he became the bridge to us that time just to fix our clan relationship.” Athena said. Suddenly, Nate misses Quiver.
He turns to look at the spot where Quiver is supposed to sit every time they have a meeting like this; it’s beside him, and Quiver chooses to sit beside him.
“Sorry, I am late.” All of them turned to look at the speaker, and at this moment, Nate saw Beatrice, who was suddenly stunned as she saw him sitting in front of the round table.
“So, you’re the newcomers.” Athena greeted. The secretary of the organization stood beside Beatrice and looked at them.
“Everyone, this is Mrs. Beatrice Vougch, the new Alpha of the Vougch clan.” The secretary introduced her, but Beatrice couldn’t take her eyes off Nate, who was also looking at her.
“Since she’s a newcomer, we could skip the punishment part,” Donna said, so the secretary nodded as she was about to ask about it.
“Mrs. Vouch, please sit beside Mr. Vowell, as that is your husband’s place.” The secretary said, so Beatrice looked at the secretary and looked back to Nate, who fixed himself. Beatrice swallowed and nodded.
“Why do you look so very familiar?” Craig asked Beatrice, so Beatrice looked at him but didn’t answer.
“Oh, I thought I was the only one who had the feelings about that,” Marcos said.
“Probably she’s the ex-wife of Nate, right?” Donna asked, so Craig and Marcos turned to look at Nate, who was just looking at Beatrice before they turned to look at Beatrice, who was now looking in another direction.
“Is that so?” Craig asked and laughed. “That’s why Nate looked so bothered earlier.” He added. Nate rolled his eyes and took a deep breath as he knew they would start talking about their past relationship.
“Why did you guys break up? Are you bored with Nate? That’s why you go with Quiver. Who is his friend?” Athena asked, so Beatrice was suddenly offended because of her question.
Nate looked at Beatrice, and he knew what she was feeling right now, so he answered her question.
“Our mateship contract is expired, so I decided to terminate it,” Nate answered, so all eyes looked at him.
Craig, who has a playful smile, laughs after hearing Nate’s words.
“Is that so? Or maybe she just wanted power, so she married Quiver?” Craig asked and looked at Beatrice.
“I don’t need any power,” Beatrice said as she felt that her blood was about to boil.
“I married Quiver because I loved him, that’s all.” She added, which made Nate swallow. After saying that, Beatrice looked in Nate’s direction and took a deep breath.
“I see,” Donna said and smiled at Beatrice. “We were just confused about your relationship between the two most powerful Alpha in town,” she added.
“Can we just let her sit first?” Nate asked, so a playful smile formed on their lips, and nodded.
“Of course, Beatrice, please do sit beside your ex-husband,” Craig said with a playful smile. Nate turned to look at him badly, but Craig ignored it and looked at the man behind Beatrice.
“Oh, look who’s here, the bastard brother of Quiver.”
