Book:The White Wolf's Luna Published:2024-6-4

Quiver enters Beatrice’s room in the hospital and sees that she is sleeping, and beside her is Nate, who is also sleeping, it makes his heart ache while looking at them, but he keeps his cool and enters the room. He also sees Celestine beside him, who is now looking at him.
“Quiver…” Celestine called his name, but he just smiled, stood before Beatrice’s bed, and watched her sleep. His heart aches while looking at her, knowing she didn’t keep her promise to him. In the very end, she still chooses Nate instead of him, and that makes him sad.
“How is she?” Quiver asked while looking at Beatrice. Celestine stood up from her seat and walked closer to Quiver.
“She’s fine, but the baby didn’t make it,” Celestine said, so Quiver nodded in pain, knowing that Beatrice was sad at the very point that her baby died.
“How long… have been since they went back together?” Quiver asked. Celestine knew the news that he was engaged with Beatrice already; at this point, she also knew that Quiver was hurting.
“They’ve been together since you left two days ago,” Celestine said, so Quiver took a deep breath and stopped himself crying in front of Celestine.
“Please don’t be mad at Beatrice, she might just confused about her feelings,” Celestine said, so Quiver nodded and smiled.
“I’m not mad,” Quiver said and kept himself not to cry. “I’m just sad,” he added, and his voice cracked because of what he said.
“I know that you’re hurting, Quiver,” Celestine said. “You’re just a victim of Cupid, who is messing around.” She added, so Quiver looked at her and smiled.
“At least I know she really loves Nate, and I don’t have a place in her heart to replace him,” Quiver said. Celestine took this chance to comfort him. Celestine treats Quiver as her son, too, since Nate and Quiver have been friends since grade school.
“You know what, I’ve talked to Beatrice about this matter, and you’re a precious person for her that she doesn’t want to hurt,” Celestine said, so Quiver laughed, knowing that Beatrice already hurt her.
“She already did.” He said. Celestine looked at Beatrice and took a deep breath.
“Just ask her who she will choose then,” Celestine said.
“No need, I know who she already chose,” Quiver said and looked down, knowing that Nate was the one she would choose.
“Just talk to her, Quiver.” She said and patted his shoulder before she exited the room.
A few hours later, Nate opened his eyes and saw that Beatrice peacefully slept in her bed.
“What’s up, Nate.” Nate turned his head to the person speaking and saw that it was Quiver sitting on the couch and looking at him.
“Quiver…” Nate whispered. He stood up and came close to him. “When did you arrive?” Nate asked, but Quiver didn’t answer him.
“So, how are you with my fiance?” Quiver asked, so Nate swallowed and looked at Beatrice again before turning back to look at Quiver.
“Quiver…” When Quiver punched his face, Nate didn’t continue what he was about to say.
“I thought we were friends, Nate?” Quiver asked, and his voice was full of pain. “I thought you didn’t love her since you dumped her.” He added, and Nate saw how Quiver’s tears formed in his eyes.
“You betrayed me, Nate. You betrayed our friendship and so our relationship. You ruined everything!” Quiver said, full of pain. Nate just listened to him, knowing he was at fault, and he admitted it.
“Why are you making everything shit, Nate?” Quiver asked.
“I’m sorry,” Nate said and took a deep breath. “I’m sorry, but I just realized how much I love her, and I don’t want her to be happy with another man,” Nate said, so Quiver laughed and looked at the ceiling to stop his tears.
“You’re selfish then,” Quiver said, looking back at Nate.
“I’m sorry…”
“Don’t worry, you can have her, but I just wanted to talk to her before I leave,” Quiver said, so Nate looked at him. “I just want to ask her some things and then let you be with her,” Quiver added, so Nate felt relieved knowing that Quiver would let her go.
A smile formed on Nate’s lips as he looked at Quiver, who had a cold aura. Until a few minutes passed and Nate decided to go home to change his clothes and to eat, Quiver volunteered to look for Beatrice while he was away.
On the other hand, Beatrice opened her eyes and saw the white ceiling next to Quiver’s face. She suddenly sat and looked at Quiver, who had swollen eyes, as he looked at her.
“Quiver…” Beatrice called him, and a smile formed on her lips, but it didn’t last long as she saw how his tears dropped to his eyes, which caused her so much pain, thinking that he was crying because of her.
“I am sorry,” Beatrice said, holding his hand and grabbing his waist to hug him. “I’m sorry,” Beatrice said, tears falling.
“You don’t need to say sorry, Beatrice. You just follow your heart.” Quiver said, but Beatrice held him tight and cried on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry for hurting you,” Beatrice said, closing her eyes. Her heart aches, knowing that Quiver already knew about her relationship with Nate again and that she hurts the only man who made her feel princess and lovable.
“I’m sorry for hurting you. I’m sorry for making you feel so sad and worthless.” Beatrice added Quiver just listened to her and didn’t say anything.
“I’m sorry, please don’t leave me,” Beatrice added, so Quiver looked at her and shook his head.
“Beatrice, I know you only wanted to be with me because you felt peace and just wanted not to hurt my feelings,” Quiver said, wiping her tears. “But I know, and you know that you really wanted to be with Nate because you love him, Beatrice,” Quiver added. Beatrice shook her head and held him tightly.
“Are you gonna leave me, Quiver?” Beatrice asked, so Quiver just smiled at her and wiped his tears tears again.
“I’m letting you go,” Quiver said, so Beatrice shook her head and cried again, knowing she would be left alone again.
“No… No, please don’t leave me, Quiver.” Beatrice said and held him to hug him. “Please, I’m begging you don’t leave me,” Beatrice added, so Quiver closed his eyes and kept himself from being trapped in her words again.
“Please, Quiver, I’m afraid to be alone again… I don’t want to be with Nate again because he is a liar.” Beatrice said while crying on his shoulder. “He lied to me and kept me the truth behind his son.” She added, so Quiver frowned because of what she said.
“What do you mean?” Quiver asked and looked at Beatrice’s face. A sad smile formed on Beatrice’s lips, and her eyes said it all that she was hurting because her baby died and Nate had a son with another woman.
“He and Eille have a son, and they admitted everything to me. That’s why I lost my child.” Beatrice said, so Quiver was stunned for a second because of what she said.
“Please accept me again, and I swear I will not do anything that might hurt you, Quiver…” Beatrice said and wiped Quiver’s tears.
“Please, Quiver… don’t leave me alone with them because they hide the truth.” She added, so Quiver swallowed and took a deep breath.
“Let’s go far away from this town and start again. Just don’t leave me here, I need you, Quiver… Please, I need you.” Beatrice said while crying, so Quiver nodded and hugged her.
“Okay, we will leave this place now,” Quiver said. He fell into her trap again.
