Nate’s Son

Book:The White Wolf's Luna Published:2024-6-4

“Beatrice, let’s go inside,” Celestine said, grabbing Beatrice’s arms, but Beatrice didn’t move to her place as she looked at the boy with Eille. Caliber looked at Beatrice too and hid behind Eille’s back as he was afraid of how Beatrice looked at him.
“Mom, who are they?” Caliber asked while not taking his eyes off them.
“Beatrice, let’s go,” Celestine said, but Beatrice shook her head.
“Why did he call you mom?” Beatrice asked Eille, so Celestine closed her eyes because she knew where this would end.
“Because he is my son.” Eille answers, so Beatrice’s forehead frowns while looking at Eille and her ‘son.’
“How?” Beatrice asked, so Eille laughed and looked at Nate, who was feeling nervous then.
“Asked Nate, he probably knows how,” Eille answered, so Beatrice slowly looked at Nate, who was looking at her right now.
Beatrice is so clueless about what is happening that she has no idea about what’s going on.
“Beatrice, let’s go,” Celestine said, using her authority voice so Beatrice look at Celestine and Nate, the same with Eille and Caliber, who was behind Eille now.
“Is there something I need to know?” Beatrice asked, so Nate and Celestine became quiet while Eille had a smirk on her lips while looking at Beatrice.
“You don’t have any idea what’s going on?” Eille said and looked at Nate, who was looking at her.
“Why don’t you ask Nate? He probably Has idea what is going on.” Eille added, but Beatrice didn’t look at Nate. Her gaze is fixed on the boy behind Eille.
“What’s going on, Nate?” Beatrice asked without looking at him. Nate looked at Celestine, who was looking at him also. Celestine knows that her son is nervous and is hurting at this point.
“Beatrice, let’s go first,” Celestine said.
“No, Mom, we are not going anywhere,” Beatrice said, looking at her.
“Did you also know something about what is happening?” Beatrice asked Celestine, but Celestine didn’t answer her questions. So Beatrice laughs, knowing they all know what is happening, but only she doesn’t understand what is happening. She looks like a fool searching for an answer to people who don’t want to answer, which makes her mad.
“What the fuck is wrong to all of you?” Beatrice asked and looked at Nate. “Why can’t you fucking my simple question?” She asked him, but Nate kept silent.
“Because they don’t want you to be mad at them,” Eille said and laughed.
“Caliber, say hi to Aunt Beatrice. She’s my friend.” Eille said, so Beatrice slowly looked at the little boy behind Eille. He waves his hand at her and smiles but still hides at the back of Eille.
“And say hi to you, Grandma and Daddy,” Eille added, which made Beatrice stunned for a second and made her mind blank when she heard what Eille said.
Beatrice watched Caliber say hi to Celestine and Nate, but her mind was still floating as she watched the little boy. The idea is not sinking in her mind, but in her heart; it’s slowly sinking and broken.
“What the heck?” Beatrice said and looked at Nate, who was looking at her.
“Beatrice, please…” Nate saw how Beatrice’s tears fell as she looked at him. Nate knows that Beatrice is hurting, so he is, but all he’s thinking about is her and the baby inside her.
“What’s the meaning of this Nate?” Beatrice asked Nate to walk closer to her and hug her, but Beatrice removed his hand and pushed him away.
“Tell me, what is the meaning of this Nate?!” Beatrice asked as she cried in front of him.
Nate didn’t say a word, but his eyes did.
“It looks like Nate didn’t want to tell you the truth,” Eille said, so Celestine walked close to Eille and slapped her hard, which made Caliber scared at her.
“Please don’t hurt my mom.” Caliber said and hugged his mom. Celestine looked at Caliber for a second before looking at Eille again.
“Get this little boy out of our mansion,” Celestine said to Eille, so Eille laughed.
“Why? He is your grandson.” Eille said, so Beatrice looked at them.
“Or maybe you wanted us to go away because you two don’t like telling Beatrice the truth,” Eille added, looking at Beatrice, who was crying while listening to her.
“Look at them, Beatrice. They know the truth but are still hiding it from you. Because they wanted you to look the fool.” Eille said while looking at Beatrice.
“That’s not true!” Nate shouted and looked at Beatrice. He held her hands and kissed the back of her hand.
“Listen to me, Beatrice, that’s not our intention,” Nate said. Beatrice heard Eille’s laugh. Her heart was in pain, and so was her chest.
“Tell me what’s happening, Nate,” Beatrice said while crying. Nate hugged her and closed his eyes because of pain while hugging her.
“Caliber is my son with Eille, and Eille told this to me two days ago,” Nate confessed. Beatrice cried even more because of what she heard.
“I didn’t know about Beatrice, I swear. I was also shocked the moment I heard about it. Trust me, I intend to hide this from you because I want to protect you. I don’t want to hurt you. That’s why I hide it.” Nate added, but Beatrice didn’t listen to it as she pushed him away and wiped her tears in pain.
“Is this also why you’re leaving the house early these past few days?” Beatrice asked. Nate watched her expression first before he nodded as he answered.
Beatrice looked at Celestine, who was watching them.
“You also know about this, mom?” Beatrice asked, and Celestine looked in the other direction before she answered her questions.
“Nate told it to me last night,” Celestine said, so Beatrice cried in pain once again, knowing that everybody in the house knew about this except her.
She is pitied for herself, knowing no one tried to tell her this. She looks the fool.
“What the heck is this?” Beatrice asked and wiped her tears once again.
“I thought I could trust the both of you, and we were already okay, though this is happening now. If they even don’t come here, I wouldn’t know about this. Because you don’t have any intention to tell this to me.” Beatrice said, so Nate shook his head.
“You’re wrong, Beatrice. I’m going to tell you this, but I was scared,” Nate said, so Beatrice laughed.
“I was scared you would leave me again,” Nate added.
“I’m not gonna leave you, Nate, if you told this to me earlier, yet you made me look like a fucking fool,” Beatrice said.
“Beatrice, I’m sorry,” Nate said and was about to approach her when Beatrice stepped back from him and smiled bitterly.
“I shouldn’t return to you again, Nate,” Beatrice said coldly.
“Beatrice, please… don’t say that,” Nate said, tears falling.
Beatrice looks at Eille, who has a smile on her lips now, to Caliber, who is looking at her with his afraid eyes, and to Celestine, who can’t look at her until Nate, who is crying while looking at her before she walks away out of Nate’s mansion gate.
“Beatrice!” Nate shouted and followed her.
Celestine and Eille are left alone together with Caliber. Celestine looked at Eille.
“Are you happy now?” She asked before she turned to follow Nate.
