The next day, Beatrice is peacefully showering her flowers in the garden when the maid approaches her.
“Ms. Beatrice, someone is looking for you on the gate.” The maid said, so Beatrice turned to look at the maid with her frowning forehead.
“Who?” Beatrice asked.
“The man didn’t mention his name, but he told me you knew him.” The maid said so Beatrice stunned for a second as she already knew who is that man.
Beatrice walked towards the gate, and as she expected, it was Nate.
“What are you doing here?” Beatrice asked, her brows are frowning.
“I told you to stay away from me. Why are you here again?” Beatrice added and looked at the flowers he was holding.
“I came here to give this to you,” Nate said, handing the flower she brought for Beatrice.
Beatrice just looked at the flower and turned her gaze to Nate, smiling sweetly at her.
“Why is he doing this? is he really dumb?” Beatrice asked herself while looking at Nate.
“I don’t need flowers as I already have flowers in my garden. What I need is for you to stop bothering me.” Beatrice said so. Nate felt sad as Beatrice rejected the flowers he brought for her.
He picked those flowers as he knew that Beatrice loved them, and Nate was very excited to give them to her as he was expecting that Beatrice would accept them, but it turned out that Beatrice rejected his present.
“Can you please accept this? I picked these flowers because I know that you’ll like them.” Nate said, but Beatrice laughed a little.
“I didn’t ask you to pick that for me,” Beatrice said, crossing her arms.
“Can you just stop bothering me? I’m really irritated every time I see you.” Beatrice said. Nate put his hands down as Beatrice didn’t accept his present for her.
Beatrice saw the disappointment in Nate’s eyes, and it hurt her to know she was why he felt that.
“I just want to make you smile and see you smile…” Nate said, and Beatrice felt that Nate was hurting, but this was her only choice. Beatrice doesn’t want to leave Quiver but knows her heart wants Nate.
“Nate, please don’t make it hard for both of us,” Beatrice said, taking a deep breath. “You know the situation now is not normal. I am not your mate anymore, Nate, so please just leave me alone.” Beatrice added.
“I can’t,” Nate said, so Beatrice felt broken as she heard Nate’s voice cracked.
“I can’t do that, Beatrice, that’s why… that’s why I’m trying my best to get you back,” Nate said, so Beatrice looked him in the eye.
There are so many things running in Beatrice’s head right now; honestly, she is mad knowing that Nate is trying to get her back.
“What do you mean, Nate?” Beatrice asked and laughed as if Nate’s words were all made of jokes.
“Let’s return to what we used to, Beatrice. Please return to me…” Nate said. Those words were like a knife dug into Beatrice’s heart.
“I know I am a coward because I didn’t fight for you, but it is because I was still in pain at that time,” Nate said and touched Beatrice’s hands, but Beatrice removed them.
Her tears formed in her eyes while looking at Nate. The pain inside her chest suddenly relieved, knowing Nate wanted to get her back.
“Yes, Nate, you’re a coward,” Beatrice said while looking at Nate.
“You never listened to me or asked me what happened that time,” Beatrice said with all her pain.
“Because I was blind that time, Beatrice, and now I want to say sorry for those times I didn’t listen to you because it was hard for me that my father died and my mate at that time was the suspected killer,” Nate said. Beatrice’s tears fell from her eyes as Nate said those words.
“I’m sorry if I didn’t listen to you. I was in pain that time, mourning my father and confused by the fact that you were the suspected killer then.” Nate said, and Beatrice saw how Nate’s tears fell down from his eyes.
“I know it’s my fault that I didn’t listen to you, and I closed my damn fucking ears for your words that time, but now I regret it all. I regret not believing in you, not listening to you that time, and I’m sorry, Beatrice, for being a coward and asshole.” Nate said. Beatrice wiped her tears away.
She is hurting because Nate needs to do this, but this can’t change the fact that she’s choosing Quiver over Nate now, as she doesn’t want to make a mess anymore.
She knows that if she chooses Nate, Quiver might be mad at Nate, and that will be the start of their friendship. However, if Beatrice chooses Quiver, then the pain will last for her and Nate only, and there will be a chance that Nate might forget his feelings for her.
“I love you, Beatrice, I love you so please… please return to me,” Nate said and pulled her closer to his body. Beatrice just let him do that as she was so confused right now.
“Just promise me one thing, Beatrice…” Quiver’s voice echoed in her head, so Beatrice closed her eyes.
“Come back to me, and let’s start again. I promise I will not do such a thing again…” Nate whispered to her, but Beatrice still closed her eyes.
“Promise me that you won’t leave me…” Quiver’s voice echoed again as she remembered her promise to Quiver.
Beatrice opened her eyes and shook her head. She moved backward away from Nate and looked at his eyes.
“You late now, Nate…” Beatrice said and smiled bitterly to Nate.
“You’re late now. I’m happy with Quiver and can’t leave him because I love him.” Beatrice said, which caused Nate to stop at his place, breaking his heart into many pieces.
“So please, stay away from me. Don’t bother me anymore, as I have Quiver now.” Beatrice added.
Nate looked into her eyes, and she couldn’t tell if Beatrice was telling the truth, but he said how sad she was.
“Is that really what you want, Beatrice?” Nate asked without removing his gaze from her eyes.
“Yes,” Beatrice answered shortly.
“You’re such a bitch Beatrice.” They both turn their heads to the person who has spoken.
From where they are standing, they see Eille standing not far from them while looking at Beatrice badly.
