Nate is currently in Veldar Hospital as he claims his father’s body at the morgue. He was the one who arranged all the papers for his father’s funeral. Celestine, on the other hand, cannot accept the fact that Gastov is already dead. It doesn’t sink into her mind and Nate as they both think this is just a nightmare.
Nate looked at his father’s face one last time as he was now in the morgue. Nate took a deep breath, and tears started to form in his eyes, but he stopped himself crying as he didn’t want to be weak at that moment. Nate needed to be vital to his mother because Nate knew that she could not accept what happened to his dad. And he couldn’t even accept that his dad was already dead.
“What happened, Dad?” Nate asked while looking at Gastov’s cold face. “Earlier, we are still laughing, aren’t we? We were happy earlier and begging me to give you a grandchild, but now…” Nate stopped talking as he couldn’t stop himself from crying.
He is really in pain now. His buddy, best friend, supporter, and the only person who believed in him died on his birthday.
And he couldn’t believe that the suspect was Beatrice, his wife who accepted him again after what she did to him. He can’t accept that Beatrice could do this, and he blames himself for being a fool to accept her again after what happened.
He should listen to his sister, Clerophine, and his mom, but because of his feelings for Beatrice, he closes his ears to them and chooses to be deaf instead of following them.
“I am sorry, Dad, I didn’t know this would happen,” Nate said and held his father’s cold hand. “I am sorry for bringing the killer into our lives.” he added as he kept crying.
On the other hand, Clerophine was smiling while looking at her reflection in the mirror. A smile of victory can be seen on her lips right now.
She was fully aware that at this point, Beatrice would leave Nate’s life, she knew that Nate would indeed terminate their mateship, and, worse, Nate would put her in jail.
“You’re so smart, Clerophine.” She said to herself and drank the wine in her glass, a victorious mini celebration for what she did to Gastov is happening now. She celebrates alone as she is left alone at the farmhouse.
“Let’s see if Beatrice can escape this mess.” She added and laughed evilly.
On the other side, Beatrice cries while waiting for Nate at home. She is anxious as she knows that Beatrice is the suspect in killing Gastov, but Beatrice knows she can’t do that. She was being framed by someone she didn’t know, and that is what she was thinking about.
“Beatrice, it’s already late, I need to go home,” Quiver said and stood up from his seat, Beatrice looked at him and nodded in answer, Quiver walked closer to her and patted her shoulder.
“Stop crying, I know that you wouldn’t do that.” Quiver said and smiled at her, “Let’s give Nate time to think and understand him because, at this moment, he is hurting.” Quiver added and took a deep breath.
“Call me using the mind link if you ever need help, or Nate is already here, so I can assure you he is safe.” Quiver’s last words before he walked out of the house.
Beatrice just watched him until she couldn’t see Quiver anymore.
“I need to prove to myself that I am not the one who does that,” Beatrice added and took a deep breath, a few moments later, Nate arrived at the mansion with a cold expression, Beatrice suddenly rose up and was about to walk near to him when Nate stopped walking and looked at her very seriously.
“Nate…” Beatrice called him and was about to hug him when Nate stepped backward, which made Beatrice stop.
“What are you still doing here?” Nate asked her, which made her heartbreak.
“Are you believing that I am the one who killed your dad?” Beatrice asked, Nate didn’t answer as he was looking at her very coldly, which made Beatrice feel more anxious.
“Nate, I couldn’t do that,” Beatrice said, and her tears fell as she knew Nate didn’t believe her.
“Listen to me, Nate, you know how much I want to-”
“I should listen to Clerophine and Mom from the very first place,” Nate said coldly, so Beatrice looked at her with shocked eyes.
“I should listen to them that a killer is always a killer, and there is no possibility that you can change your habit,” Nate added, so Beatrice’s heart broke as she heard those words.
“I shouldn’t trust and accepted you again.” He added.
“Nate, listen to me, please,” Beatrice said, crying as she knew where this would end.
“I can’t do that. I wouldn’t waste the chance you gave to me-”
“You can do that, Beatrice, because you’re a killer,” Nate said, so Beatrice was stunned.
“You tried to kill me, you killed Darwin, and now you killed my dad!” Beatrice slapped Nate because of what he said, she couldn’t help but slap him because his statement was below the belt, and she couldn’t accept it.
“Yes, I made such mistakes in the past. But I already made a promise to you, Nate.”
“Promises are made to be broken, Beatrice,” Nate said coldly.
“Aren’t you ashamed for what you did? Because the truth is I am the one who feels ashamed for what you have done.” Nate said and laughed sarcastically.
“Nate… I swear I couldn’t do that.” Beatrice said and held Nate’s hand.
“When I entered the room, I found his body on the bed-”
“Why does the knife from the crime scene have your fingerprints?” Nate asked, so Beautifully was stunned for a moment before she looked into his eyes.
“Of course, you will say you don’t know,” Nate added and laughed.
“What else should I expect from a killer like you?”
“Please… believe me, Nate, I swear I-”
“I don’t need your explanation anymore, Beatrice,” Nate said as he looked at Beatrice’s eyes seriously.
“Pack your things. And leave.” Nate added, so Beatrice shook her head.
“No, I won’t leave until you don’t listen to me,” Beatrice said, but Nate was serious.
“Leave my fucking house, I will send a termination paper for our mateship because I can’t stand seeing myself marrying a killer like you,” Nate said before he left Beatrice alone.
