Clerophine entered the room where Gastov was. She saw him standing and watching from the window. Clerophine fist clinched as she saw him, and her anger towards Gastov rose from her body. She knew that Gastov didn’t like her from the very first place. Clerophine knew that he never wanted to adopt her in the very first place. It was Celestine who wished to because of pity she felt for Clerophine.
“Dad,” Clerophine called him, so Gastov turned to face her with his forehand frowning. He never expected that Clerophine would be here because he never invited her. He also doesn’t want to see her because, for Gastov, Clerophine is nothing but trash, just like her real family.
“What are you doing here?” Gastov asked as he saw Clerophine. He’s sensing something terrible.
“I’m here to wish you a happy birthday,” Clerophine said, so Gastov’s eyes looked at her thoughtfully.
“How come the devil knows how to greet people in good manners?” Gastov asked sarcastically, knowing that Clerophine never greeted him on his birthdays.
Nate greeted him while Clerophine looked at him with unreadable eyes.
“Well, the devil turns to angel now, Dad,” Clerophine said, smiling at him. “Everyone can change.” She added that Gastov laughed at her, knowing that Clerophine would never be changed.
“A rug is still a rug. Nothing will change even if you try to make it look elegant in others’ eyes,” Gastov said, so Clerophine secretly finches her hand because of annoyance.
“Why are you so mean to me, Dad? Don’t you accept me as your daughter? Just like mom did?” Clerophine asked, so Gastov laughed once more and started to put wine in his glass and drink it before he answered her question.
“I only have a son. And that is Nate.” Gaston said. “Celestine adopted you because she feels pity.” He added and smirked at her. “But she never really wanted to do that, you know why?” Gastov asked while looking at Clerophine seriously.
“It’s because she has a big rival when it comes to me,” Gastov said as he remembered how Celestine adopted Clerophine for her pride.
“Celestine adopted you for her pride and pity, and she needed to adopt you for her to have a girl child introduced in my family side to prove to my family that she’s worthy of being my wife and not her rival,” Gastov said and laughed as he remembered how Celestine does thing.
“She also felt disgusted as she picked you from your family because you looked like trash then,” Gastov said. Clerophine eyes became watery as she heard those words.
She was hurt because of what he said. Gastov makes her feel that she’s trash and nobody likes her.
“That’s why Natw also dislikes you as his sister, because he knows how to differentiate trash from gold, and you are nothing but trash while Beatrice is a gold diamond shining in Nate’s eyes,” Gastov said, which made Clerophine feel angry towards him.
His words eat her and make her feel useless, just like her real family.
Clerophine wants to feel Gastov’s acceptance all her life, but he never gives it to her. So now Clerophine is standing in front of her with a knife hiding on her back.
“Now, you may leave me alone here because I wanted to rest,” Gastov said, putting the glass on the side table. He was about to close his eyes when he could still feel Clerophine presence.
“Are you deaf? I said leave me alone.” Gastov said as he saw her standing in front of him.
“You always make me feel that I am nothing but trash,” Clerophine said and looked at Gastov with unreadable eyes, a playful smile formed on her devilish lips.
“Are you scared that I may cause shame in your family and your reputation?” Clerophine asked, so Gastov looked at her once more and laughed.
“Yes, because a trash like you does not belong to a royal family like ours,” Gastov said, so Clerophine smile widened as she heard those words.
A smile of a devil what Gastov saw. His body hair rose as he saw her smile, and at that time, he knew that something would have happened.
“Get out of my room,” Gastov said, fighting his fear as he knew something would happen.
“Did you ever feel something like you in the future die?” Clerophine asked. She was not in her right mind now after Gastov belittled her; she couldn’t think straight, and nothing came to her except for killing him.
“What do you mean?” Gastov asked, so Clerophine showed the knife to him, which made Gastov chills out to his body.
“I’ve always wanted your attention. I’ve always wanted to feel how you cared for Nate. I’ve always wanted to feel you caring about me.” Clerophine said and looked at Gastov as she pointed the knife at him.
“But you never give me those feelings and affection. That’s why I am so mad at you.” Clerop said, and in just a blink of Gastov’s eyes, Clerophine was on his side and pointing the sharp knife at his neck.
“Because you’re so selfish, you always think about yourself, not others. You always think about the damn reputation thing.” As Clerophine said those lines, Gastov moved and was about to snatch the knife from her hand, but Clerophine moved fast and stabbed the knife in his chest, which made Gastov stop as he felt his chest hurting.
Clerophine’s eyes are all black, which symbolizes that she’s not thinking straight and out of her mind. Gastov swallowed as Clerophine stabbed him again in his stomach, which made her moan, and blood came out of his mouth.
A beautiful flashback from his life flashed in his head, from Celestine adopting Clerophine to Clerophine trying to stab Celestine when she was little.
The truth is that Gastov secretly gave affection and attention to Clerophine when she was young. He was pleased that Celestine adopted her, but he couldn’t express his feelings because he didn’t know how to be an excellent father to her until Clerophine turned 14 and wished Celestine brought her house. Still, Celestine doesn’t make it happen, so Clerophine secretly sneaks to her room and is about to stab her while she’s sleeping, but Gastov catches her and stops her from her dark plans.
And that is the reason why he starts to lose interest in Clerophine.
“You may now rest, dad, in peace.” Gastov’s vision became blurry as he started to feel that he was about to faint.
“A devil… is always a devil… disguised as an angel.” Gastov’s last words before he dies.
Clerophine returned to her mind and saw that she was holding a knife. That’s why she put it on the table and looked at Gastov with tears coming out of her eyes.
“I…I didn’t do that.” Clerophine whispered to herself as she saw Gastov’s lifeless body on the bed.
“I… I am not the one who does that..” Her tears fall from her eyes while she’s looking at the blood on her hand.
“Beatrice… do this.” She said while looking at Gastov’s dead body
