Darwin’s Game

Book:The White Wolf's Luna Published:2024-6-4

Quiver was holding himself from pulling off the trigger of the gun he was holding right now, as he was still considering that Darwin was his best buddy from the past. The three of them, Nate, Darwin, and Quiver, are best friends from the past, but their relationship changes when Darwin starts to realize something.
Darwin smiled at them and walked down the stair, still looking at Nate and Quiver.
On the other hand, Nate wished that his wife was asleep now and his name would be cleared after this confrontation. He had nothing to do with the rumor spreading; he knew that he had never killed anyone during the war.
“How may I help you, my dear friends?” Darwin asked as he was already in front of Quiver. Nate looked at Quiver and touched his hand where he was holding the gun.
“I think we should settle this without using a gun, Quiver,” Nate said as he slowly guided Quiver’s hand to pull the gun down.
A smile on Darwin’s lips formed.
“Yes, Nate is right. We can talk calmly, and no need to use harassment.” Darwin said Quiver looked at Darwin seriously, he’s not here to joke with him.
Darwin knows when to become serious and when he should become goofy, and at this time, he chooses to become goofy even though he knows that Quiver and Nate are here for a serious matter.
“It looks like you guys choose violent over peace,” Darwin said as he saw his people on the floor. Darwin took a deep breath and shook his head. “I will get the damage fee later.” He whispered and smiled at them again.
“So… what’s the sudden visit here? Are you now interested in my business and willing to become one of my investors?” Darwin asked without removing the playful smile on his lips.
“Never on my dead ass,” Nate said, rolling his eyes.
“Oh, come on, you’re so rude, Nate.” Darwin teased.
“We came here for one reason and three questions,” Quiver said seriously.
“Oh, okay. Should I also give you one answer?” Darwin asked sarcastically.
When Quiver was about to point his gun at Darwin again, Nate stopped him.
“You need to calm down, Quiver,” Nate said, which made Darwin laugh.
“Nate was right. You’re still inside of my territory,” Darwin said.
Quiver took a deep breath.
“Are you the one who planned the war?” Quiver asked Darwin which made Darwin stop and look at them with his forehead frowned, but his playful smile never faded.
“Am I?” Darwin asked and laughed. ” Oh, come on, why would I even do that?” Darwin said. “Am I the one who told your clan about the White clan’s darkest secret?” Darwin asked Quiver,
“I already knew their Darkest secret from the start of our relationship with Nate’s clan. I never instructed my Beta to start a war with Nate’s clan.” Quiver said seriously, so Darwin scratched his head.
“Oh, then I don’t know who started the war,” Darwin said, so this time, Quiver pointed his gun at Darwin, and Nate couldn’t do anything about that.
Nate knows that Darwin already boils Quiver’s blood, and even his blood is boiling for Darwin, from Darwin’s gestures and playful smile, he knows that it won’t tell them the truth.
“Answer the fucking question seriously, men. Or else your clan will fall under my hand.” When Quiver said those lines, his men showed up with their guns, and it was all pointed at Darwin, so Darwin suddenly laughed loud as he saw the men of Quiver.
“Are you fucking serious with this?” Darwin asked Quiver and clapped his hand.
“He is truly a psycho,” Nate said in his mind while watching Darwin.
“Okay, okay,” Darwin said and stopped laughing. He suddenly became serious when he looked at Quiver.
“You do really wanna know the truth, huh,” Darwin said, smirking. ” The truth is, the Alpha of the Wuna clan was the one who’s behind the war,” Darwin noted, which Quiver stopped.
“He gave me an order to start a war between your clan and Nate’s clan because he said that you didn’t accept his offer, which made him look dumb in front of his people, so to bring back the respect, he deserved, he ordered me to start a war between your clans in exchange of a huge amount of money,” Darwin said. “And thanks to Eille, your ex-girlfriend.” While looking at Nate, Darwin said, “She did an excellent part in the mission because she did tell the secret of her supposed-to-be clan in exchange for her freedom from me.” Darwin added.
“Her what?” Nate asked while his forehead frowned.
“Her freedom, her father sold her to me in exchange for money, and at that time, she wished to have her freedom, so I gave her a choice, and she exactly chose her freedom than you, Nate,” Darwin said, which made Nate stop.
All this time, what he was thinking was Eille betrayed him because she never loved him, but at this moment, he knew what was the reason why she did that, and suddenly, what Nate felt right now was unexplained.
“Who gave the signal to my clan to attack Nate’s clan?” Quiver said seriously.
“I am.” Darwin proudly says, which makes Quiver more mad at him.
“Thanks to my special ability, I copied your face and acted like I am you and gave them a signal to attack Nate’s clan,” Darwin said, and he suddenly laughed. “And you know what is the best thing that happens when I copy your appearance? Your Beta kissed me and told me how much she loved you before she went to the war.” Darwin said this time. Quiver pulled the trigger of his gun beside Darwin, which made Darwin laugh even more.
His madness was slowly eating him as Darwin said those lines. He was thinking now that Margarett wasn’t supposed to die when Darwin never instructed her to start a war with Nate Clan.
Quiver was supposed to protect her during that time, but he didn’t do anything because of that fucking meeting he attended.
“Fuck you, Darwin! Fuck you!” Quiver shouted in Anger. Darwin was laughing at him while Nate was trying to calm Quiver down.
“Are you also the one who killed her?” Quiver asked in pain, trying not to let his emotion run through him, but he couldn’t, his pain and Anger were mixed, and he couldn’t control his emotion. He was hurting knowing that Margarett had a last word for him.
“Should I need to answer your question seriously?” Darwin asked Nate, and Quiver didn’t answer him, so he laughed again and smirked at Nate as he looked at him.
“Okay, to answer your question honestly, I did, and I framed up Nate during that time. I copy his appearance to kill your Beta.” Darwin confessed to them.
Nate and Quiver suddenly stopped as they heard what he said.
“Why? Is she that important to you? She’s just a lowly beta.” Darwin said while laughing.
“You killed my sister?” The three of them suddenly looked in one direction and saw Beatrice standing not so far from them. She has a melancholy aura as she looks at Darwin.
