“Sir, it’s been four hours, and missus is still in the bathroom.” Lola made a phone call while knocking the door of the study room. Since eating that bowl of soup this morning, Olivia had been locking herself in the room. Lola initially thought she would get out of the room sooner or later, and it was perfectly safe inside, yet as she realized the splashing sound of the water from the bathroom had been continued for four hours straight, she felt that she must do something, and she dialed Lucas’s phone number.
Lucas paused and ordered, “Open the door with the backup key and see what she’s doing.” There was a slight trace of rage in his voice and not daring to hesitate, Lola hurriedly called someone over to help. After opening the door, she asked the male servants to leave and only brought two housemaids to push the bathroom door open. The inside of the bathroom was so quiet that only the splashing sound of water was heard. Lola’s heart leapt. Could it be something had happened to her? Unable to care for any other thing, she walked straight in.
Olivia was inside the bathtub silently. The water had flooded over her neck and her hair was wet. She was closing her eyes while leaning against the wall, looking exhausted. Lola was so shocked that her face went pale. She strode over, extended her finger and put it under her nose. Luckily she was still breathing.
She ordered someone to carry her to the bed. Realizing her forehead was burning hot and she was having a fever, without any hesitance, she then hurriedly called Lucas, “Call the GP, I’ll be right back.”
“Okay.”
…
The family doctor of the Foster family was a male who was about to reach his fifties, he was deft in his speaking and working. He was going to leave immediately after getting the drip-feeding done, yet he frowned and flipped Olivia’s eyelids, checking her eyes. He frowned more and more.
Lucas had just returned from the workplace and was standing beside. Seeing the doctor being that careful in the examination, he could not help but ask, “What’s wrong, doctor?” Not knowing why, he felt extremely uneasy, “Miss Cooper’s illness doesn’t look like any ordinary fever.” Dr. Turner adjusted his glasses and said with a serious look, “It seems like the fever is caused by other illness. I’ll suggest you to bring her to the hospital when you’re free to do a whole checkup, I’m lack of tools.”
Lucas’s heart leapt and he abruptly remembered Olivia mentioning that she felt like she was going to die that night. If…what she said was true…His look became somber and he asked Dr. Turner while lowering his voice, “Are those symptoms of lymphoma?”
Dr. Turner’s expression slightly changed. He looked at Olivia’s face and listened to her heartbeat, saying, “It could be. If it’s really lymphoma, I suggest you to let her get treatment as soon as possible. Currently, the possibility of curing this disease is not high.”
Although he did not know the reason of why rumor all said that Mr. Foster did not like his wife, from Lucas’s look, it was obvious he still cared about her. He stood up and said, “Mr. Foster, if she’s really diagnosed with lymphoma, I have a senior who might be able to help, he used to successfully cure lymphoma.”
Lucas’s heart was racing and he did not pay attention to what he said. He nodded profusely but his eyes still remained fixed on Olivia. If…it was true that that woman was going to die, what should he do? Looking at her face, Lucas felt a pain in his heart.
