Olivia stood before the Foster Tower as she reiterated with exasperation, “I am really Lucas’ wife, if you don’t believe me you can give him a call to confirm.”
Ever since that incident, Lucas had buried himself in his company without going home. Olivia really couldn’t find him anywhere else, so she had no choice but to come here.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Cooper, but you can’t go in.”
The assistant Lester looked at Olivia apologetically. Everyone in the company knew that their president didn’t like his own wife, and he had dished out an ultimatum, depicting the order that in no situation was his wife allowed to appear at the company. Furthermore…
The corner of his gaze swept across his colleagues as he complained wryly in his heart. Why was he the one facing that infamous wife here?
“Mr. Foster, Old Master Foster wants you to attend the banquet tomorrow night.”
“Got it. Speaking of which, I want to know about this…”
Not far away, a gentle looking man was marching towards him. He nodded at the reception counter before entering the elevator.
Olivia looked like she understood something as she asked dryly, “Is it true that I am the only one not allowed to go in?”
Lester lowered his head awkwardly, his eyes not meeting Olivia’s.
Lance who was already in the elevator narrowed his eyes as if remembering something. He retraced his steps and said, “I was thinking that this person looks so familiar, so it turns out that it’s sister-in-law!”
He was staring at Olivia with a friendly smile, “Are you here to see Lucas?”
Olivia froze for a second before reacting. This person in front of her was Lucas’ cousin, and he was also one of the more outstanding up and comers in the Foster family, Lance Foster.
She nodded with a face full of embarrassment, “That’s right.”
Lance shifted his gaze towards Lester for a bit, which allowed him to read the atmosphere correctly.
Lester was the most reliable secretary of Lucas, and the fact that Lucas was doing so well with Olivia wasn’t a secret in the family or the company. From Olivia’s face, Lance was certain that Lucas had directed Lester to come stopping her.
Anything that irked Lucas would present itself as a challenge to Lance.
With his eyes narrowed, he lifted the corner of his mouth meaningfully, “You come at the right time. Come with me to see Lucas.”
Lester had a petrified expression on his face. What was he going to do? A disaster was sure to happen soon!
Olivia nodded to show her gratitude before following Lance into the elevator. For some reason, she always had a feeling that this cousin of Lucas here wasn’t as harmless as he made out to be.
She stood in a corner, which was a spot furthest from Lance. Lance noticed her unusual behaviour and he raised his brows helplessly, “Sister-in-law, are you afraid of me?”
The young lady of the Cooper family didn’t appear to be an unruly and arrogant woman, but in contrast…She even looked a little cute.
Olivia shook her head and whispered, “This is a safe spot.”
She was right, if something were to happen in the elevator, the corners were the safest spots.
Lance couldn’t stifle his laughter as he found Olivia to be more and more amusing.
The elevator reached the top floor in no time.
Olivia followed Lance to the president’s office. This was the first time she was in Lucas working space, so everything felt new and fresh to her. She was scanning her surroundings curiously, which was taken in by Lance clearly. His gaze then fell on a tightly shut door, and that meaningful smile reappeared on his lips “Sister-in-law, Lucas is just inside there. Go knock on the door.”
Olivia had a strange feeling which she couldn’t pinpoint the source, and after she knocked on the door, there was no response whatsoever inside.
She frowned, but she realized that the door wasn’t tightly shut at all. After a moment of hesitation, she pushed the office door open.
