Although she knew very well since long ago that Lucas never loved her, when his harsh words reached her ears, Olivia still felt her heart bleed profusely.
She wanted to tell him so much that she had contracted lymphoma and that she was dying. In the near future, she wouldn’t have the chance to nag him anymore.
Despite that, she couldn’t reveal that.
It was as if without disclosing that fact, she could pretend that she was not sick in the first place.
She simply watched as Lucas strut up the stairs and slamming the door behind him while she closed her eyes and recited in her heart repeatedly. She was convincing herself that she wasn’t regretting any of this.
She wasn’t regretting falling for this man, and she wouldn’t regret the things she was about to do.
…
Lucas had a dream last night. It was a beautiful dream.
Lucas really thought that everything belonged in his dream.
But when he opened his eyes come morning, what entered his field of vision was a woman wearing clothes right in front of his eyes.
The woman’s back was facing him.
Her legs were thin and long, and her figure was breath-taking.
Her skin felt porcelain as if the sunlight could penetrate it, and the surface reflected the lights like the surface of pearls. However, there was a grotesque pattern of blue and purple on her back, which made Lucas recall that woman in his dreams.
The woman slowly wore her clothes and turned her body around.
Her face belonged to Olivia.
Lucas suddenly felt a rude awakening. He furrowed his brows and with a stern gaze, he barked, “Olivia, I can’t believe that you have drugged me!”
Even if he was really drunk, he wouldn’t have allowed such a thing to happen without his conscience. Furthermore, there was a strange feeling coursing through his body. Lucas soon was able to determine that he had been drugged somehow!
Ever since marrying Olivia, he had only laid his hands on Olivia once. That was because he was really drunk and he had some steam to blow off. He had treated his impulsive action as venting frustration, and he didn’t care what Olivia was thinking and feeling at that time. After he came to himself, from that moment on he never laid his hands on her anymore.
“Why are you doing this?” He approached Olivia with a furious expression, and his hand went for her neck, although he didn’t strangle her just yet.
Olivia didn’t reveal any hint of pain or fear. She even had a smile playing around her lips, “Because I can’t just let this go.”
She wasn’t willing to throw in the towel just yet, seeing that her love for him was so profound, yet her existence in his life was nothing but a speck of dust. He didn’t even show her any sort of sympathy.
The hand which was gripping her neck increased in force, which made Olivia cough a little. However, she never once feared that her neck would be snapped since death was waiting for her in front anyway. She would rather die in his hands, and that way, he would be able to remember all of this. He would remember her.
“I have wasted several years of my life with you, and all of my adolescence has been spent with you. Lucas, I want to bear your child.”
Lucas let her go abruptly as if he was electrocuted. His gaze told her that he was looking down on something lower than trash, “Child? Do you think you are worthy of that?”
“Olivia, you really open my eyes. You are the precious daughter of the mayor, yet you could bring yourself to drug a man just to fuck with him and get your hands on him. Or is this part of your upbringing?”
Lucas was snickering coldly as he picked up his clothes from the floor, “If you need this so much next time, you don’t need to do this. Just come to me, and I will make sure to satisfy your appetite.”
“After all, I would be stupid not to fully utilise a woman who is so cheap and free.”
His words formed blades which slashed through Olivia’s heart.
Her face was pale as she mustered all of her strength to prevent herself from toppling over. She watched Lucas disappearing from her sight before finally allowing herself the luxury to fall down.
Olivia, you are really cheap.
