” Are you sure?” he asked me for the thousandth time after breaking each kiss. My answer never changed, I knew I wanted him as much he wanted me to. The way he asked for my permission made me want him more, it was a fresh start after being abused by Patrick sexually for years. He took my permission before removing the rest of my see-through underwear. Even as I lay naked under him, he wouldn’t touch me without my permission.

” Since when does he care about women? Since when?! Meisi has been here all along doing nothing but loving you but he acted like he doesn’t like women only for her to show up and he starts behaving like a lovesick puppy?” She cried into her laughter before pushing everything on her vanity table away. Her baby continued crying but the selfish consort continued to mull over her own emotions.
” He held a knife against my throat just four days after giving birth but cares about her tiredness?” She continued sobbing while her maids just stared at her with disturbed looks on their faces. They even tried to calm the baby down but everything was too tiring with both the mother and daughter wailing at the same time.
” His lordship. Lord Li is here” One of the maids at the door announced before the angry Minister Li stormed into his daughter’s Chambers still in his ceremonial robes. He had rushed down from the ongoing wedding banquet when the news of his daughter’s tantrums reached his ears. He was a middle-aged man who loved a peaceful life and also his position at the court. He was not planning to make Meisi the Queen when he had her marry the king but only supported her plan of preventing the arrival of the queen because he always gives his daughter everything she wants, but now, despite their efforts, the Queen finally showed and he suddenly realized he had fueled his daughter’s ambition to the point of no return.
” What is the meaning of this madness?” The Lord’s loud voice boomed in the entire room and only then did Meisi finally stop crying to look at her father. Her baby on the other hand didn’t. With a cold stare from him, all the maids in the room excused themselves including the one holding the baby.
” Father” She sniffed like a little girl about to ask her father for a pair of silk shoes

” How many times do I have to tell you that only the Goddess’s chosen becomes Queen? And for Nati’s sake! Your child is crying”
” You said you will give me everything I want, why can’t you make me the true queen?” Her father’s palm landed on her cheeks before she could say another senseless sentence.
” Father, you slapped me?” She gasped as she stared at her father in shock. The Lord moved closer to his daughter, his temper out of his control. He regretted ever marrying her into the royal family.
” Are you out of your mind? Look at me! How in any way do I look like Natalí? Get your stupid acts together and attend to your daughter before I ask the king to throw you out of the palace myself” Lord Li grabbed her and said to her with an icy tone that he has never used on her before. Enough of spoiling her like a brat.
” You can’t do to me!” She screeched.
” Oh no! I will do that and more. Because of your stupidity, I lost not one or two but five highly skilled assassins. All because you don’t know how to control your emotions, I lost valuable men! I may love my daughter so much but it doesn’t mean I won’t get rid of you if you pose a threat to the position I killed so many to have.” Letting go of her hand, he took a deep breath and turned to leave but before the door opened he said to her
” The faster you accept the arrival of the Queen, the better for you because I won’t risk my position or a curse to my next generation because my daughter is a jealous wench who doesn’t know her place. And take care of your baby for Nati’s sake.”
