THE CEO ALPHA KING (-Interrogation-)
Writer’s P O V
After dressing up, Serena went down searching for her mate. She knew he was in the castle because granny Felicia kept mentioning him during their conversation. She had thanked granny Felicia for the gift she gave to her and thanked her for staying and taking care of her mate, the King, up until now. It isn’t easy abandoning one’s life for another.
Serena also hoped to speak with Beta Adam. She was unhappy that he kept such news from her. It seems to her that everyone knew he would leave sooner, even her mate, but no one told her about it.
She asked the guards around, and they started leading her to the underground dungeon where the prisoners were kept.
As the guards led her, they bumped into Beta Adam. Serena had to tell the guards to leave her alone with Beta Adam.
Glaring at him with wide eyes, she spoke. “So, you’re leaving soon and didn’t bother to inform me,” She huffed, annoyance clear in her tone.
“Good morning, Your Majesty,” Beta Adam instead greeted her. Serena raised her brows at him.
“Are you trying to change the subject? I guess we are not friends anyway. I blindly saw you as a friend,” She huffed out again and made to leave, but Beta Adam stood in her way.
“I thought the king was going to tell you. I’m sorry about that.” He apologized.
Serena rolled her eyes at him again. “You are so annoying, you know.” She rolled her eyes again.
Beta Adam smirked. “Really?”
“But seriously? Aren’t you going to be returning? Are you moving away permanently? Just like Isaac? ” She probed, gulping down the pain that rose in her chest at the thought of her lovely brother.
Beta Adam sighed. “Yes, I found my mate.” He revealed. “Really?” Serena’s eye’s widened.
“Yes,” Beta Adam answered, grinning. You could see the glow in his eyes as he mentioned his mate.
“Aw, wow! That’s so amazing. Why didn’t you tell me? Moon goddess!” Serena once again felt disappointed in Adam.
“I’m sorry again. I was trying to keep it from his Highness because I didn’t know how to bring it up. You see, my mate is actually a halfbreed, just like yourself. But she’s half werewolf and half-vampire. I don’t know if you know that vampires and werewolves don’t coexist, and as a werewolf king, I was one hundred percent sure that King Zed might go after her and kill her.
I was so scared for her. I had to learn how to block that part of her in my head from King Zed. I never let him see anything that relates to her. She is also so scared of King Zed. As a Beta, I am not supposed to leave the Alpha’s side. I am supposed to live with my mate while also protecting his Highness, but the situation is really different. I’m glad he understood.” Beta Adam explained, looking a little sad.
“Oh, I wasn’t aware you were going through such things, Adam. I’m so sorry,” Serena apologized, feeling for him. “It must have been so hard being far from your mate. I’m glad you are going to her soon. I know the complications of being far from one’s mate, I understand, and I’m no longer mad at you.” Serena flashed him a smile.
Adam returned it gladly.
“But I want one thing. I hope I will be able to meet her one day. I’ve never seen a vampire. I’ve just heard about them. And some of the stories I’ve heard about them aren’t facts, so it’ll be my pleasure meeting her,” Serena informed.
“Oh, I’m sure she’ll be willing to meet you too. I’ll inform her about it and find a way for you two to meet. But it can’t be here. It can’t be anywhere around King Zed.” Beta Adam shook his head.
His response got Serena thinking. “Why do I feel that there is more to the hate Zed and the vampires share?” Serena probed.
“Well, I can only tell you that once upon a time when King Zed was still a young child, and his parents were ruling, he got kidnapped, his parents did a lot of things before they could get him back. I didn’t witness it happen. Then I barely understood what was even going on. I was still a baby, so you should ask his Highness yourself. I’m sure he’ll tell you.” Beta Adam narrated.
“So, it’s that bad? Okay, I will. But what is he doing down in the dungeon?” Serena queried, staring past his shoulder.
“Oh, it’s Aurora’s father that surprisedly came back to earth.” The king is interrogating him and his daughter personally. Beta Adam responded.
“Him and his daughter?” Serena’s brows joined together.
“Yes,” Beta Adam bobbed his head in confirmation.
Serena’s wolf snarled at the thought of Aurora being so close to her mate.
“No, it’s not like that. She is behind bars with her father. It’s an interrogation, and King Zed is not letting either of them out. So calm down.” Beta Adam chuckled, seeing the look of jealousy on Serena’s face.
But as if Serena didn’t hear him, she walked past him in search of her mate. She needed to make sure that Aurora wasn’t in any way trying to seduce her mate.
She got to the heavily guarded dungeon rooms. The guards gave her way to pass. The sick smell oozing from all corners of the rooms had Serena covering her nose with her hand till she finally reached the particular room Aurora and her father was being questioned.
Her gaze landed on the King in front of her.
A smile broke out of her face as she forgot the unpleasant odor. She ran to give him a good morning hug and kiss.
“How’re you doing, my queen?” King Zed asked, staring into her eyes adorably.
“I’m good. I was pretty sad waking up and not seeing you beside me,” Serena pursed her lips childishly.
She heard someone scoff and turned to see Aurora glaring at her. She eyed Aurora before leaning in for another kiss on the lips.
“What are you doing, Zed? Release me now!!” Serena heard a voice thunder. She turned to see Aurora’s father also glaring daggers at them.
“Will you shut up?!” Serena got annoyed at the manner Aurora’s father spoke to her mate.
She heard Aurora’s father hiss out, but soon his expression changed, and he started wincing in pain.
“Sillas, you don’t talk to my mate that way. Know that you will face severe consequences for that.” King Zed snarled, staring murderously at the middle-aged-looking man.
Aurora didn’t utter a word. She just stared as her father struggled and eventually fell off his seat. Blood ran down his nose, his eyes, and his mouth at the same time. Serena’s mouth opened in shock. She had never seen a thing like that before.
When Sillas suddenly stilled, she thought he had died but became shocked again when she saw him standing up and sitting back on his seat. The bloodstain on him immediately dried off.
King Zed turned to Serena. “Uhm, I think you should wait for me in my chambers. I’ll be with you in 10 minutes.” King Zed suggested.
“No, I want to stay here with you. Please allow me to stay,” she pleaded. King Zed looked reluctantly at her.
He didn’t want her to see that dark side of him as he would surely kill both father and daughter. He had just learned before Serena’s arrival that Aurora wasn’t even his mate in the first place.
It was a spell. A spell made it look like she was his mate. Aurora’s mother, a witch, had done the trick, but because King Zed was mighty, the scheme didn’t work fully on him.
Aurora’s mother had done a spell to make him submit to her, but it didn’t work that way. And that’s the reason why they stole his power and gave it to Sillas, Aurora’s father. They wanted him to be the most powerful to control even king Zed himself, but it ended up working against them.
King Zed earnestly wanted to enter into their heads and bring out the information he needed, but no matter what he did, he couldn’t. There seems to be an invisible force pushing him out of their thoughts, blocking him from seeing what they are thinking.
That part pissed King Zed off.
He sighed and finally nodded in agreement. He ordered the guards to bring a seat for Serena to sit beside him, and they did.
He continued the interrogation, using his power to force them, particularly Sillas, to speak.
Sillas started laughing when his blood started boiling. He felt his body temperature rising exceedingly.
“The same trick, huh? I’ve told you enough. Why don’t you just let me go? I promise I won’t come back. I won’t be a threat to you anymore.” Sillas growled out in pain.
“You can ask Aurora here. I did not come back for you. She might be the one plotting against you, not me.”
“Father!” Aurora yelled at her father.
“Aurora, please, admit to him that you are the one planning things against him. Look at your poor father, take pity on him and admit.” Sillas forced the words out of his mouth.
Aurora got angrier that her father was trying to blame her. “You asked for this,” she stared at her father dangerously before turning to face King Zed.
“Your Highness, you are going to let me go after I’ve told you everything. You have to promise me that.” Aurora demanded.
King Zed remained silent for a while as if thinking of a reply. He, later on, shook his head for her to go ahead with her explanation.
A smile curved up her lips at King Zed’s response. She turned to look at Serena while Serena also gawked at her.
Somehow, Serena felt King Zed would not let her go free, so she didn’t pick offense with the way King Zed replied to her.
It’s just a matter of time, and it’ll be all over. Serena thought to herself as Aurora began spilling everything out.
“There is a portion my mother made before she died. That portion allows us to disappear from the earth for a long while, so we took it and vanished. In contrast, you and everyone else thought we were dead. There is no long explanation for that. The portion has worn out, and that’s why we returned to earth.”
“So, you never died. You were always alive?” King Zed asked, shocked. He has never heard of such things. He knew Aurora’s mother was mighty that didn’t know that she was that powerful to make a portion that could hide them for years.
“Yes… ”
“Aurora, stop!” Sillas yelled at his daughter, but before he could say another word. King Zed sealed his mouth. He can open his mouth, but no comments will come out. He also made sure Sillas wouldn’t be able to mind-link his daughter. He wanted Aurora to spill everything out without interruption from her father.
“Yes, my mother had a lot of those portions, and there are only three remaining, but sadly we couldn’t find those.” Aurora resumed.
“So, that’s what brought me here. My father doesn’t have a plan of murdering you, neither do I. We just wanted the portion. We know we can’t fight against you, especially now that you have become stronger.” Aurora concluded, then smiled.
“I’m done. Release me now.” She asked, blinking her eyes to look cute to him.
“Of course. You can leave now.” King Zed nodded to the guards.
They opened the gates of the dungeon and let the happy Aurora out.
She clapped her hands happily and started jogging out; Serena was beginning to believe that King Zed was truly letting her go free until she fell to the ground and remained there.
