THE CEO ALPHA KING (-Return of his first mate-)
Writer’s P O V
It’s been a whole week since Serena heard from Isaac last. She hoped that he was okay wherever he was. She was already missing him badly but with King Zed always around her. It made the pain she felt even lesser.
She finished preparing herself for the company and came out from her room. She took the elevator up to King Zed’s chambers.
His two permanent door guards still hadn’t returned. Serena noted this. She made to knock on the door first before entering but paused when she heard King Zed and his Beta’s voice.
They seem to be discussing something really important. Serena turned back and made to leave when she heard.
“How many men did you send to watch him?” King Zed questioned.
“Eight, I sent eight men to watch him closely, your Highness.” Came Beta Adam’s reply.
“Good.” King Zed’s gruff voice seems pleased. “I need every information on him. I need to know what he has been up to ever since he disappeared.” King Zed demanded.
“Yes. But… your Highness, isn’t it better to capture him and kill him at once? Or are you worried about your dreams? About Aurora truly returning?” Beta Adam probed.
“I need to make sure it isn’t true, Adam. I need to make sure that she is not alive. I need to confirm that fact.” King Zed replied him.
Beta Adam stayed muted for a while before speaking, “I.. I… I saw her die. I don’t think your dreams will come true.”
King Zed didn’t utter a word. He was hoping for it not to be true.
Beta Adam coughed slightly before taking one foot back. “I’ll leave you now.” He informed. He bowed slightly in respect before reaching for the door.
Serena, who was still listening to their conversation, remained there. She wouldn’t be able to run back; else, she’d be caught on the way, so she just stood there.
Beta Adam opened the door and looked surprised to see her. Serena forced a smile but didn’t utter a word. He walked past her and entered the elevator.
Serena stood for a few minutes outside, just thinking about what she heard.
Who is the man? And who is this Aurora? I hope it’s not what I heard. She walked into King Zed’s room to see him standing by the window side, staring out to the garden.
He looked deep in thought, also disturbed.
“Are you going to continue staring at me from there?” King Zed probed, still not turning to look at her.
“Um… I’m sorry. Good morning, your Highness. She greeted. I told you to stop calling me that. You can call me by my name now.” King Zed corrected, turning to look at her.
Serena lowered her eyes to the floor shyly. She hadn’t gotten used to calling him just by his name. She tried it once, but it sounded strange to her own ears even tho King Zed told her his name said nice coming from her mouth.
“I… I’m sorry, Zed?” King Zed wounded up chuckling at the way she called it this time.
“You’ll get used to it, little wolf. Come here,” he beckoned on her to come forward.
She smiled and went into his arms. King Zed hugged and inhaled the scent of her hair. He loved it so much.
Serena relaxed her head against his chest when she suddenly remembered the conversation he had with his Beta a few minutes ago. She thought of bringing it up but couldn’t.
“Why didn’t you come up to my room last night?” King Zed inquired.
“Um….” Serena could only reply. She was lost in thought and didn’t understand his question. It took King Zed the next second to know that her mind wasn’t with him at all.
He disengaged from the hug to look into her eyes. “What is it? What are you thinking about?” King Zed probed.
Serena shook her head. “It’s nothing your… Zed. I can’t get over Isaac’s decision,” Serena lied even though she knows that there is a high possibility he’ll catch up on her lies.
King Zed knowing that she just lied, decided to let it slide. He knows she’ll bring it up again because she is not the type to keep things to herself.
“I’ve told you. Your brother is okay. He only did what’s best for the both of you.” King Zed said.
Serena pouted her lips in disappointment. King Zed had earlier told her the reason why he got delayed in meeting up with her at her crowning was that Isaac met up with him and told him of his plans. It was the very first time Isaac could summon up the courage to talk to him.
Before meeting him, Isaac already asked the other servants at the king’s castle, and they confirmed always seeing Serena with King Zed. It got Isaac suspicious about who Serena’s mate was. To get the truth out, he went to Beta Adam and Beta Adam, thinking Isaac already knew, just spilled the whole truth.
After hearing the truth that day, he couldn’t believe his ears, but he trusted that King Zed wouldn’t kill off his mate or mistreat her. It was his mate, for crying out loud. No matter how evil he was. I don’t think he’ll be able to do that since his mate will only make him stronger, especially when they have bonded together. Isaac had felt so he went talk with King Zed that day and disclosed that he would be leaving L. A permanently. King Zed had no problem with it but worried for his mate.
After Isaac knew the truth and informed King Zed that he went to find Serena only to meet his sister and mate in a displeased way.
Isaac couldn’t say what he had wanted to say so. He left with Kate immediately.
Serena sighed at the remembrance. I wish he had at least bid me goodbye properly. She wished.

Serena was headed back to her room when suddenly, Beta Adam ran out from his room and pulled Serena in before shutting the door. His actions shocked Serena. Before she could react, Beta Adam pinned her to the wall and covered her mouth with his palm making Serena’s eyes grow wide.
“Hmm, hmm,” Serena tried fighting him off, but he was really strong.
*Calm down, stay like these for a minute. Please.* He minds linked her. Serena asked him why with her eyes, but Beta Adam remained to maintain his position.
Serena had no choice but to remain quiet. She also stopped struggling with him. Seeing her relaxing, Beta Adam pulled away from her and took a step back.
“I’m sorry for my sudd…” Beta Adam paused when a slap landed across his cheek.
“Don’t you ever do that to me no matter what?” Serena warned. He had literally pinned and almost hugged her. Their closeness was what Serena didn’t find funny at all.
Beta Adam’s mouth remained open at her act. After coming out of his shock, he apologized again.
“I’m sorry.” He knew King Zed would kill him if he heard about what he just did, so he decided to make Serena forgive him first.
“I… I was so dumb and thought you were someone else for a second. I hope you won’t tell what I did to king Zed?”
“Oh hell, I will. Of course, I will until you explain the main reason you pulled me into your room and pinned me against the wall.” Serena hissed. She also knows King Zed won’t be happy with him.
“I did it for a reason. I can’t tell you until King Zed approves of it. Please, it’s imperative.” Beta Adam Interlocked his fingers and looked apologetic. He fluttered his eyes to look cute to her.
Serena shrugged, “well, I’ll think about it but don’t do that to me again.” Serena frowned at him.
“For whatever reason. Don’t try it.” She added.
“Can I go now?”
“Of course, I’m taking you to the company, remember? I was about to come to pick you.” Beta Adam replied.
Serena glared at him one last time before opening the door. She stepped out and looked around the long and silent hallway. She wondered what Beta Adam was hiding from her.
With a sigh, she went to her room and picked her bag. She came out to see Beta Adam standing in front of her room waiting for her.
“Let’s go,” he said and led the way to the elevator.
He is acting fishes. What could it be? Serena thought as he followed Beta Adam into the elevator.
*
King Zed was in his room when Beta Adam suddenly mind linked him, telling him that Aurora was coming up to him.
Of course, his first mate picture came to his mind, but he wasn’t so sure Adam was talking about her. Suppose someone long dead can’t be walking about searching for someone else. He thought, but the thought made his mood change.
*Serena almost saw her, and I had to hide her from Aurora. I’m sorry that I can’t stop her, your Highness. I’ll take Serena to your company now, so they don’t meet. It seems like your dreams happened, it’s unbelievable!* Beta Adam told before breaking the mind link.
King Zed had to turn towards the door and watch it open slowly. She stepped in.
King Zed’s brows joined together, his nose flared as she flashed him a tight lip smile.
“Your Highness,” she bowed. She was putting on a brown ball dress. Those dresses always fitted her perfectly, but it’s been so long.
King Zed, without saying a word moved closer to her. He touched her skin and felt her. He took three steps back afterward.
“What are you doing here, and why are you alive?” King Zed questioned, gaze hard. He wasn’t going to welcome her from the land of the dead.
“Your Highness?? Hasn’t it been a hundred years already? Shouldn’t you be happy that your mate is back, your mate who you thought dead is alive?” She asked with a broad greek accent.
“Shouldn’t you be telling me how you missed me? Because I missed you too.” Her words irritated King Zed’s wolf’s and ended up annoying him.
She tried moving closer to him but found her back pressed hard against the door.
“Don’t you dare! Don’t you dare utter such foolishness to me!” King Zed snarled, his eyes glowed, showing how angry and dangerous he was.
“I… I’m sorry, are you still mad about what I did then? I told you my papa made me do it. I… I never wanted to betray you, so I came back to explain and regain my position in your life. Please punish me the way you want.” She made to go on her knees, but her ball dress disturbed her. She lifted the dress to her thigh before going on her knees.
“Please, your Highness! Forgive, forgive his foolish lady who got deceived by her papa.” She pleaded, almost tearing up.
*She’s just trying to get you to forgive her. I can see that she is not sorry at all. After what she did, she has the guts to come back. Isn’t she supposed to be long dead?” King Zed’s wolf, Davies fumed.
He was too pissed at the lady kneeling before them.
“Where is your father, Aurora? Where did you hide him?” King Zed groaned out his question.
Aurora gasped. “My father is long dead. I killed him long ago, your Highness. I hated that he turned me against you and killed him, but in the process of doing that, I died myself. I found myself drawn back to earth about a year ago and then suddenly woke up. I wasn’t myself at first, but when I recovered my memories, I started searching for you, your Highness.” Aurora cried.
“You are really good at acting.” King Zed mumbled.
Why didn’t I see that before? He thought to himself.
