King Zed sat down on his bed and looked up at her.
“Come,” he said, looking gingerly at her.
Serena strolled towards him. She stared down at him when she got to the bed.
“Tell me, do I look sick to you?” King Zed asked. The look on his face was the one Serena hadn’t seen before. His tone suddenly became soft.
“No,” she muttered, shaking her head along.
“Stop listening to Adam. He acts silly sometimes.” King Zed told.
“Go get me a good shirt in my closet.” King Zed said.
“Yes, Your Highness.” Serena agreed and immediately left for his closet. She searched in his closet for a while and returned with a black T-shirt.
She handed it over to him, and he received it. He took off his robe, revealing his perfectly shaped body.
Serena tried so hard not to look at him, but she ended up ogling at his body.
King Zed put on the shirt she brought him and then stood up.
“Let’s go.” He informed and started heading for the door. Serena followed him behind without a word. She already felt sad and strange for running back to the castle at the news of his sudden illness.
King Zed came out of his bed-chamber, and the guards at the door made to follow him, but he instructed them to stay behind.
Serena also came out from his bed chamber and into the elevator, where she stood behind him.
The elevator took them down.
The elevator opened, revealing Lilian, who was lifting a tray of veggies. Immediately she saw him, she bent her head and acknowledged him.
“Your Highness,” she greeted while staring indirectly at Serena, who ignored her.
King Zed made for his castle’s main door with his hands folded behind him. He strolled as if he did not worry about life.
The securities outside moved out of the way and acknowledged him.
King Zed, after stepping out from the main door, turned to look at Serena, who was still walking behind him.
“Walk with me,” King Zed suggested. Serena’s eyes widened.
“Huh,” she blinked.
The guys around all looked at themselves through the corner of their eyes.
Isn’t he King Zed? One wondered.
Doesn’t he hate ladies? Another thought.
“I want you to walk with me,” King Zed repeated his earlier statement.
“Come.” He added.
Unwittingly, Serena’s cheeks became red as she moved to stand beside him.
She looked so tiny beside the huge man, but it still made her very happy.
King Zed started moving again. Serena moved with him.
The news spread among the servants, and they all came out to see for themselves the truth. They all kept wondering what was happening.
Some couldn’t even believe their eyes.
King Zed walked out of the first gate with Serena before she opened her mouth and asked.
“Your Highness, where are we going?” Serena inquired.
“For a walk. I haven’t taken a walk for ages.” King Zed answered.
Serena nodded her head in understanding.
“Why? You don’t like it?” King Zed tilted his head towards her direction in question.
“No, Your Highness. That’s not it. I… I love it.” Serena blushed as she thought of how much she loved being with him.
She didn’t know why but, she lost her guards whenever she was with the King.
“Hmmm,” was king Zed’s response.
They soon moved out from the securities view and into a place that looked like a garden. The area has tall trees. Serena has always admired the site from inside the car.
King Zed went and stood under a shade. Serena stood close to him. A smile couldn’t leave her small face.
“Why are you smiling? Do you like walking with me that much?” King Zed teased.
His question embarrassed Serena. It also made her wonder if King Zed was the King Zed she knew from the beginning. The king Zed she knew from the start, won’t ever joke around.
“I…” She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
“Do you want us to always go on a walk then?” King Zed asked again. This time Serena lifted her head to stare at him.
King Zed wasn’t staring her way.
She stared at him for a long and ended up turning red a second time.
Everything slowly disappeared. 19, 20 seconds passed, and she found herself still admiring his handsome, manly face.
King Zed slowly turned to face her.
Serena quickly lowered her head, embarrassed at being caught admiring him.
“Your.. your Highness, I’d love to,” She finally found words to say.
King Zed didn’t utter a word. It was his turn to admire this little she-wolf who was slowly taking control of his life and everything he did.
Serena noticed his intense gaze, which lasted for a while, and lifted her head to look at him.
Why is the king staring at me? She didn’t understand why so she held this questionary look on her face.
“Can’t I stare at you back? You just did the same to me, remember? King Zed hissed at her expression.
Serena’s eyes went down.
“I’m sorry,” she tried apologizing but paused when she felt his warm hand on her face.
Her heart skipped at first, then started pulsing hard.
She gasped out and looked up at King Zed, who had taken a step closer to her.
“You look beautiful and so.. innocent,” King Zed informed.
Serena thought she was mishearing his words. She repeatedly blinked with her mouth widely opened.
King Zed’s finger slightly brushed against her lower lips. It made her close her mouth.
“Why? You think I’m lying?” King Zed asked.
“No… no… no… your Highness,” Serena stuttered. His hand was still on her face for moon goddess sake. She felt the world coming to an end when he took another step towards her.
Serena’s prepared herself for anything the king was about to do. She stared into his golden-brown eyes as he stared down at her lips for seconds.
He lowered his head and slowly took his lips to her forehead. He pecked her there.
Serena thought the king was about to kiss her since he kept staring at her lips which looked really soft, really succulent, but his actions still awed her.
“I honestly don’t know what you are doing to me,” Serena thought she heard King Zed mumble after the peck.
He let her go and took two steps away from her.
“Let’s go back.” He told and immediately turned his back towards her.
Serena stood where she was unable to move. King Zed took several steps away from her before stopping. “Aren’t you coming?” He asked without turning to look at her.
“Yes… yes, your Highness. I’m right behind you.” She responded, running up to him.
She walked behind him without uttering a word until they got back into the castle.
“Follow me.” King Zed ordered as he got into the elevator. Serena quickly ran inside.
King Zed kept his gaze straight as the elevator took them up. It opened, and they both walked out.
King Zed walked hastily into his bed chambers. Serena hesitated before going into his room. It felt strange to her. After planting a kiss on her forehead, he suddenly wanted to go back to his room, and he didn’t even say a word or look at her as they came back. She wondered what was going on in his mind.
As she stepped into the room, the door shut close on its own accord, and King Zed turned swiftly to face her.
She took a step backward at the abrupt way he stopped, but King Zed reached out to her. He grabbed her chin and lifted it.
“I think I’m going crazy.” He mumbled as he slammed his lips against hers and sucked on her lips.
Serena lost her balance. She moved back and rested her back against the door. Her legs shook, and she could have fallen while moving if king Zed wasn’t holding onto her face.
She stayed still as king Zed’s lips moved against hers slowly. She should have expected this, and she did earlier, but she can’t help it now.
Her body behaved as if it wasn’t hers. Her wolf Aya encouraged her to respond to his kisses, so she did.
She parted her lips open for him, and he drove in with one full thrust. He kissed and sucked on her soft edible lips.
It was an experience they both thoughts was new. It was too great, and king Zed never wanted to leave her, but then he abruptly stopped kissing her.
It was as if his senses suddenly returned to him.
He stared down at the lips he has been sucking on for a long time.
This is what Adam and Elena want. His mind reminded him.
And it’s too early for this. I can’t do this. Get a grip on yourself. King Zed repeatedly told himself as he moved away from her.
“You.. you can leave.” For the first time since he was born, King Zed stuttered. He also felt nervous and guilt when he saw the disappointed look on Serena’s face.
“Yes, Your Highness.” Serena bowed slightly. She opened the door and went out.
The door shut behind her immediately. She wanted to collapse but held herself seeing his guards.
She dragged herself to the elevator before collapsing inside.
Unknown tears gathered up her eyes, and her heartbeat became fast. She could perceive King Zed’s scent all over her body.
His scents were very much alluring, addictive, satisfying and gave her a feeling of protection.
Was what happening? Why was everything suddenly changing?
She didn’t understand how she had fallen head over heels for the king after a kiss from him.

Kate got to the apartment, which she shared with her father, and dropped inside her room. She couldn’t stop crying.
She felt so betrayed by Isaac. Is Isaac Serena’s big brother? And he accepted her because he wanted to avenge his little sister.
It was unbelievable, and she wished she’d die.
She was madly in love with him and couldn’t believe what happened. She picked up her phone from her purse and dialed Isaac’s number.
“Hel… hello,” she whispered into the phone after he picked her call.
“Isaac, are you there? Would you mind letting is meet? I need another explanation. I just can’t believe…” The doorbell sound cut off her words.
“Open the door.” She heard Isaac say.
She immediately stood up, realizing it was Isaac at the door. She opened the door to see him standing there truly.
“My love. I… I hope all that happened earlier is not true.. I hope it’s not…” Her words were cut off when Isaac walked into the apartment.
Kate closed the door and followed him.
“Please… please talk to me. I’m… dying here. Please, my love, tell me it’s not true,” Kate pleaded with tears seriously rolling down her eyes.
“I convinced myself and never told anyone.” Isaac started. His words confused Kate.
“What are you saying?” Kate asked, confused.
“The fact that you are my fated mate,” Isaac turned to face her.
“Mate?” Kate asked, greatly confused.
“So why? Why on earth are you, my mate? What is the goddess trying to do?” Isaac asked, sounding pained.
“How could she give me someone like you? Ah, fuck! I still hope I’m mistaking everything.” Isaac grumbled.
Kate, still perplexed, reached to touch him.
“Sweetheart, what… what are you saying? Did I do anything wrong? If then please…” She touched his arm.
Isaac instantly freed himself from her hold.
“I don’t want you in my life. And the only way to be free of you is if you are gone.” Isaac mumbled.
“What? I don’t get you, Isaac. Please….” Kate was still saying when Isaac grabbed hold of her neck.
