Serena finished preparing just in time before Beta Adam asked a servant to go call her out.
She stood in front of the mirror, took deep breaths, and held onto her clutch purse tightly. A smirk appeared on her face from nowhere, and she brought back the expression she had on the day she returned from New York.
She walked majestically out of her room and out to the garage to meet Beta Adam there. She had concluded within herself to pretend as if nothing had happened that morning and, to behave like her new usual self. Carol’s rules were going to play out now.
Beta Adam held the door of the car open for her, and she got in. Beta Adam knew King Zed was watching them, so he had to behave like a perfect gentleman to her.
Moreover, Serena was the potential future Luna and also the future queen. He still had to treat her with the utmost respect, even though she was oblivious to the vital role she would play in the future.
Serena sat comfortably in the back seat. Beta Adam turned around and went to sit beside her.
Serena quietly brought out her phone and went to the net, and she began scrolling through her newly opened Instagram account.
As if Beta Adam knew exactly what was going on in her mind, he chose to ignore what happened earlier.
The driver pulled out of the driveway and went past all the security checks
Beta Adam only broke the silence in the car when they were on the highway.
“So, I’m supposed to go with you to get a new car. I can as well order the car, but the King has given specific order. What brand of car will you love to own?” Beta Adam inquired.
Serena slowly took her eyes off the screen of her phone.
“Um… I don’t know. I think I love the one Isaac drives. The car is so hot, I’ll ask him about it later, and I’ll tell you my findings,” Serena simply replied before going back to her phone.
Beta Adam cleared his throat and started again.
“You know from now on, we have to do things together. I will be teaching you all about the company and what goes on there. So, that means we’ll be together for most of the day. You have to learn to be a little bit more comfortable around me. Also, don’t worry about this morning. I’ll pretend I didn’t see you in the king’s bed. I’ll totally forget that… I mean, I’ve forgotten about that already. I didn’t see you in the king’s bed. I totally didn’t.” Beta Adam said out.
Serena closed her eyes for few minutes, embarrassed. Even the driver looked at her through the rearview mirror in shock.
She opened her eyes again and cleared her throat.
“Adam, I’m free around you. I’m not scared of you or anything, and I was checking out some things on my Instagram page.” Serena told him.
She added a smile before returning to her phone. Her heart couldn’t stop pounding. She anticipated Beta Adam’s following comment even tho her facial expression showed that she didn’t give a damn.
She waited for his comment, but Beta Adam just smirked and remained muted. He was starting to love her and her new behavior more, but he didn’t want to push anything.
They finally got to Williams Zee fashion company. The driver parked at the company’s garage, and they were all alerted from the car.
Beta Adam instructed the driver to be there before 4 pm to pick them.
“Let’s go,” he said to Serena.
He let her walk ahead of him. They got into the company but through the back door. Beta Adam led her to the elevator and quickly took her up to meet Madam Lucas/ Elena.
He and Elena already talked, and he told her he’d bring Serena to see her.
They got to Elena’s office, and her secretary let them in.
Madam Lucas smiled and stood up from her seat to greet them.
“Oh my goodness! You have changed as they told me. You look more beautiful and more like a werewolf now.” Elena complimented.
Serena flashed smiles at her.
“Hi, madam Lucas,” Serena greeted her politely.
“Hi, Serena. I’m thrilled that you’ll be finally joining us.” Elena informed.
What she said confused Serena a bit, but she let it pass.
“Please have your seat.” Elena ushered her to a chair.
Serena took it.
“I guess I’ll leave you two together. Serena, you can come up to my office after you’re done with her.” Beta Adam said and made to leave but paused.
“I mean the king’s office. The only office on the top floor.” Beta Adam added before exiting the office.
“How are you doing, Serena? I’m delighted you’ve come this far with the king. He is a lonely man, his loneliness made him scarier, but I’m glad it brought you two closer.” Elena laughed and said.
Her words confused and made Serena uncomfortable.
Elena was quick to notice.
“Moon goddess! What am I saying? I’m not supposed to say all that. Please forget every word I just said.” Elena waved and took her focus to some files on her table.
But, Serena held unto her words.

Why is she talking about I and king Zed like that? She is the king’s closet person. Why on earth will say utter those words?
It can’t be a mistake. She said that purposely, and she was even smiling. It seems like she knows the reason why King Zed sent me to Carol for a makeover. It seems like everyone around him knows of it, but they are all keeping quiet about it.
What does he want from me? Should I try finding out from madam Lucas? I think I should.
“Um.. ma’am, what does the king really want with me? I’m a bit confused about it. Can you please tell me?” Serene requested.
Elena looked up at her. She cleared her throat, unsure whether to tell her or not. She knows she is not in the proper position to tell her about it, but she also wants Serena to see the king’s mind and everything he wants with her.
“You see, I’m not the right person for that, dear. King Zed is the only person who can tell you what he has in mind. I’m sure he will explain his mind to you soon. He must have already started since you are here. Just pay more attention to the things he does and asks of you. I’m sure you’ll even figure it out yourself.” Elena informed.
“Okay.” Serena pursed her lips together, not wanting to go further with it.
Elena later handed her a file.
“In there is what you need to study. After your examinations and study, you’ll be led to your new office. I suppose you’re going to use the whole of today to explore the company.”
“Yes, probably,” Serena replied, equally unsure.
“You should. It would be best if you started from there. Adam won’t be by your side always. You should do things on your own without him pointing it out to you.” Elena encouraged.
“Of course. Thank you.” Serena thanked, getting to her feet.
“You’re welcome. I’ll see you later then. Welcome to the company once again.” Elena smiled at her.
Serena walked out from her office and turned back to stare at the door.
How did she suddenly become so friendly? The first day I saw her, she looked at me like she was going to swallow me whole. How did she change completely towards me? Why did she change?
It’s really weird and exciting at the same time. She looks at me differently now.
Serena continued and went to the elevator. Instead of pressing the top floor button, she decided to go down to the model’s dressing room. Her motive was to fish out her sister, who didn’t give a damn about her.
The elevator took her down to the 7th floor. She came out and met a worker there.
“Hello, do you know where Kate is?” She asked the male worker she saw.
The male worker stared at her sophisticated dressing. He blinked because she was gorgeous. He couldn’t believe that someone as beautiful as Serena was actually speaking to him.
“Um… miss, are you a celebrity?” He couldn’t help but ask the question.
Serena scoffed at his behavior.
“Is this the way the workers here behave, or do you wanna get fired?” Serena fired at him.
The male worker quickly composed himself. His mind told him that Serena might be someone capable of firing him.
“I’m sorry, miss. I’m so sorry. I just couldn’t help but compliment your beauty. Please forgive me,” the male worker apologized with his head low.
But Serena simply rolled her eyes and walked away from him to the next worker she saw.
“Hey, come here.” She called the attention of the second male worker she saw.
The guy left what he was doing and went to attend to her.
“Do you know Kate? I need to speak with her. Do you know where she is?” Serena questioned, keeping her face stern. Indirectly telling him not to waste her time as the first worker did.
“Um.. you mean Kate Rogers? The new head model?” The male worker inquired.
“Rogers, yes.” She confirmed.
“Miss, she is with the other models on the fourth floor.” He answered and immediately left.
Serena turned back in the direction of the elevator. She saw the first male worker still where she left him. She took her gaze up, pretending not to see him, and got into the elevator.
She went two floors down and got to the fourth floor.
The elevator opened, and she stepped out like a queen.
More female workers were on this floor. Most were ladies modeling for the company and other agencies.
The way she stepped out attracted attention towards her. The ladies there started looking at her.
They started calling each others attention towards her.
*Is she the newest model, or is she going to be the company’s new face? I heard the new face of the company would be joining us soon.*
*Wow, she’s really classy and beautiful.*
*I’ve never seen her before. Who is she?*
Serena kept hearing the ladies whispering to each other in a low tone.
Before long, the news of her presence has spread throughout the floor. They all thought her to be the new face of the company. They all came out to see her.
Meanwhile, Serena kept strolling, looking to see Kate. She ignored all the models that came out to see her.
She pretended as if she couldn’t hear all the compliments about her.
Soon, her eyes landed on Kate. Kate also came out from the makeup room where she was to see her.
Kate didn’t recognize her at first glance. It was only when Serena stopped in front of her that she realized her.
Kate’s mouth flew open in shock, but she was quick to close her mouth.
Because of the heels Serena had on, it made her four times taller than Kate. Kate had to look up to meet her gaze.
“Who do we have here?” Kate scoffed and stood at akimbo.
“Pretending to be rich and beautiful when you are only a slave?” She said that out loud for everyone to hear.
The crowd gasped out.
Kate scoffed. “I can’t believe what I’m hearing. I actually thought you were truly the new face of the company? Oh goodness! Someone, please wake me up from this dream. I can’t believe it’s my poor, uneducated sister pretending to be beautiful when she is supposed to be cleaning the CEO’s desk!” The crowd was left in awe.
Serena stood with her lips pursed forward, waiting for her sister, to finish speaking.
