Serena sat up from the bed feeling more hungry than she did five minutes ago. She took her hand to her stomach and caressed it, hoping it would stop growling, but it continued. She tiredly got down from the bed, equally feeling pressed. She looked by her side to see a small door there.
Guessing it was the toilet, she dragged her foot to the small door and opened it to see a bathroom there. She went inside and closed the door. She sat on the toilet seat and released her urine into it before standing up. She washed her hands and face after that before packing her hair up.
She looked up at the tiny window there, hoping to find an exit to escape from but didn’t. The toilet was too small, and it couldn’t even fit her head. She sighed and looked down at the tap water she used in washing her hand. She was still feeling very, very hungry.
She bent down and started drinking the water directly from the tap. After she had drunk enough, she stood up and exhaled deeply.
“Woah, someone is in here.” She mumbled as she opened the toilet door and stepped out only to see Martins standing inside the room.
“Hey, I’ve been waiting,” Martins said, sounding as if everything was normal and perfect. Serena came out from the toilet and closed the door behind her.
“Why?” She asked as she took her eyes down to the tray of food and drink he brought with him.
“I came to give you this, and I’m not returning until you eat it,” Martins replied.
“I’m not going to eat that. You can take it back and let me enjoy my loneliness,” Serena said, feeling bored.
She walked past him and sat down at the edge of the bed, making sure to back him.
“I didn’t bring you here to starve you, Serena. I brought you here for a reason, and I don’t want you getting harmed.” Martins stated.
Serena remained quiet as if no one was with her in the room. Martins snickered. He sat beside her on the bed.
“When did you become so stubborn? I always thought you a weak person,” Martins mumbled the last part.
“I became strong the moment I realized that you have been using me, that you have been playing me.” Serena turned her head slightly to face him.
“Listen, Serena, and it’s not what you think. I know I did a bad thing, but I don’t mean harm to you, in particular. I didn’t fake liking you either. I like you, I swear it.” Martins defended himself.
“I wish I could believe that but look, and I’m still stuck here with you. The cute, smart playboy that likes me. I wouldn’t be surprised if you came here to poison me what that thing,” Serena gestured at the meal he brought.
“I don’t mean harm to you! How many times do I have to repeat this?!” Martins half yelled, standing to his feet.
Serena scoffed. She completely turned away from him. Martins went to her front and stood.
“Please just eat. It’s been more than 24 hours now. Just eat. I should probably taste the food to show you that it isn’t poisoned,” Martins reached for the tray of food. He placed it on his thighs and ate out of it to show that it wasn’t poisoned.
Serena kept staring elsewhere the whole time, totally ignoring him.
“You can take it. Eat it now,” Martins placed it on her thighs.
“Take it, and I don’t need it. I don’t want to eat anything served here. If you care about me one bit, then send me back to the castle. I can eat over there. At least I trust King Zed more than I trust you now.
He makes his intentions clear and known from the beginning. He doesn’t use people who he thinks are lower than him for his games. He doesn’t tell you he likes you to make you fall for him. He doesn’t lie about such things,” Serena yelled angrily at him.
Martins, after some minutes, went to the door. He called in some of his father’s men to tie Serena up.
They tied Serena in a way that she would be able to eat before leaving. Serena didn’t struggle with them at all, and she just allowed them to do what Martins asked them to do while she glared hard at Martins the whole time.
“Now, I think this is better. You’ll thank me later for doing this,” Martins sighed. He sat on the bed beside her and took his hand to her hair, and he moved the strands that covered her eyes off his face.
He sighed again. “Stop being stubborn. You are my girlfriend, after all.”
He took up the plate that contained rice and made it to feed her, but she refused to open her mouth.
He took his hand to her jaw and pressed it together tightly, forcing her to open up her mouth. He started feeding her.
“You see, when my grandfather was still alive, I do feed him, especially when he becomes sick. So I know what it feels like to feed someone. This is not my first,” Martins murmured as he continued feeding her forcefully.
“I hate you,” Serena mumbled as she munched on the rice he put in her mouth.
“I know that. And I deserve that too. But all I’m asking right now is your forgiveness. Just forgive me. It’ll be over soon, and you’ll be united with your brother soon. We are just waiting for King Zed to make his move,” Martins spoke up as he continued feeding her.
King Zed? King Zed, to make his move? What is he talking about? Serena wondered.
“What… what are you going to do with king Zed?” Serena asked after a while.
“We are going to kill him.” Martins simply replied.
At his reply, Serena choked on the food. “You… you are going to do what?” Serena asked with wide eyes.
“Why? Is it so surprising?” Mart asked and scoffed.
“Why do a lot of people think that he can not be killed. I believe he is a normal werewolf; although King, but he can be killed. I don’t know why you all freak out at the mention of his name. He is not all so powerful you know,” Martins added.
Serena kept staring at him in disbelief.
“How will you do that? Are you going to get him killed?” Serena voiced out calmly after some time.
He has guards all around him day and night, and he… does he deserve to die? Of course not. He does not. He can’t die, at least not now.
“I can’t tell you that. Sorry,” Martins replied as he packed up the plates of empty dishes.
“Drink,” he lifted the bottled water to her mouth.
“I don’t want that,” Serena frowned.
“It’s not poisoned. See,” Martins took a sip from the bottled water before placing the lid on her lips.
“I said I don’t want. I want to go home. I want to leave here,” Serena insisted.
“Where is your home? The king’s castle? Or where exactly? The apartment you live in with your half-sister and stepfather? Where they treat you like trash. Is that the home you want to go back to?”
“Well, let me tell you that you don’t have a home anywhere around here. You can only be with your other half-sibling, but you don’t know where the king sent him.” he continued.
“Yeah. I didn’t tell you this because I didn’t want you to get sad. The king promised Isaac that if he finds a way to meet you outside his castle again, he will regret it for the rest of his life. You know how king Zed is. He might make your brother his slave.”
“He might make him work miles, construct buildings, or do other hard labor. He might even pull out his two eyes and feed them to him so he won’t be able to see you again, or he might break his legs so he won’t be able to find you again. Now, is that what you want to happen?” Martins spoke for a while before stopping.
Serena kept staring at him, stunned that he could speak for a long time without pausing and being surprised about what he just said about Isaac.
“Really?” She turned and asked softly
“Yes. It’s true. I’m sincere here,” Martins shook his head.
“Then sent me back to the castle. I will prevent Isaac from coming to me no matter what. Just send me back to the castle.” Serena pleaded.
“Okay, if you want to go to the castle, you’ll have to wait a bit longer for our plan to be accomplished first. You can’t just leave now, and I can’t allow you to leave.” Isaac explained to her.
Serena sighed. She laid down on the bed afterward without uttering another word. Her attitude left Martins speechless and confused.
Somewhere around Chicago. Beta Adam walked up to King Zed after he met with the executives.
“Your Highness, I need to tell you something.” Beta Adam announced.
“Later. Not now,” King Zed waved for him to leave.
“It’s about the half-breed. You told me to tell you if anything comes up with her,” Beta Adam mumbled, then turned to leave.
“Wait! What is it about her?” King Zed called him back.
“Uh… I heard she is not in the castle. It’s been almost 48hours, and she still hasn’t shown up,” Beta Adam supplied.
“Where has she been then?” King Zed raised his brows in question.
“Well, no one knows. Should I tell them to track her whereabouts?” Beta Adam asked.
“I told her not to step foot out of the first gate. I can’t believe she took my words for granted,” King Zed mumbled to himself. He then scoffed.
“Your Highness?” Beta Adam called when he didn’t get a reply.
King Zed turned to look at him.
“Should… should I ask them to track her whereabouts?” Beta Adam asked king Zed, who was now looking very upset.
“You said it’s been almost 48 hours, right?” King Zed groaned.
“Yes, Your Highness.” Beta Adam nodded.
“Then track her. Find out how she went out from my castle and the exact time she went out,” King Zed ordered.
“I will, your highness. I’ll go it now,” Beta Adam answered. He bowed slightly before leaving the penthouse
He went to a corner of the hotel they were in and placed a call to LA. The guard he called answered after the second ring.
“Yes, about the king’s slave. I was hoping you could find out where she is right now and the exact time she left the castle. Send the info to me right now, and the king is waiting for the reply.” Beta Adam ordered before dropping the call.
He waited for ten minutes before his phone started ringing again. He picked it up and waited for a reply.
“Uh… I couldn’t find her location. I don’t have anything to track her with. But she didn’t leave the castle on her own, and someone carried her out.” The guard explained.
“What? Who?” Beta Adam questioned.
“The servant, one of the new servants. I’ve seen them together. From the CCTV footage, it shows here they were in the kitchen drinking when she suddenly dropped on his body, unconscious.
He carried her out to the garage and left with her. He never returned with her even when he came backs a second time to take some things. We haven’t seen them both up till now,” the guard explained further.
“So, what are you saying happened to her right now? Are you saying she is missing or what?” Beta Adam snapped.
“I… we… I don’t know exactly, but there is a mail here for king Zed. We don’t know if we should send it to you over there,” the guard stuttered, feeling uncomfortable.
“Send the fuckïng mail and look for a way to find her in the next 4 hours.” Beta Adam groaned into the phone before disconnecting the call.
A mail entered his phone, and he viewed it.
*I have her. If you want her alive. I am giving you the next 48 hours to get her alone, without your guards, Zed. See you *
The correspondence in the mail was sent.
