The clock ticks. It’s 8am. I yawn multiple times, thank God it’s Friday. Jessica is still lying down beside me. My eyes go straight to the calendar and that takes me to my feet I walk there, and check the calendar. It’s May 4th. Mum has already sent me an Android phone since I graduated from high school last month. Robert and Ben have killed their clones, mine and Dylan’s. Greg doesn’t have a clone but they failed to find Jude’s clone maybe he didn’t release his mind for them to see it.
My energy starts to boost when I remember I’m going to shift under the full moon tonight. But, before shifting tonight, I’d have been mated. That thrills me again. I stare at Jessica who is lying down flatly on Robert, maybe they did the job overnight and were now tired. Anna and Martha are downstairs. I slip out my phone from my pocket, and I turn on my data. Messages rush inside popping up and making my phone freeze. Loads of wishes pop up as text messages all from Dylan, Greg, mum, and some other pack members.
Karl enters this room without knocking, and he beckons to me to come over to meet him.
“Hello, Sophia. Good morning.” He squats, and I also squat. He pecks my chin, and leads me to his office. Once I sit down, he starts to speak.
“You are getting mated this afternoon. But, still, we are not sure if Jude or Ben is your mate.” He says, kind of making me worry again. “If I may ask, who would you choose? You know, if moon goddess asks you that.”
“I hate Ben, I hate Jude. I would choose to be a female Alpha.” I reply, and he seems shocked.
“Oh, well, yeah, I didn’t expect that response but fine, okay, Jude hasn’t killed his clone yet so I don’t know if he would be a good fit for you.”
“So, you’re telling me Ben is my mate?” I ask.
“Not sure but be cool, okay? And tonight, you’ll shift and your wolf will become activated.” He tells me, and I nod.
“Again, if you noticed when you were home, the object like a bat that does flick through the sitting room or the back of your room…” he says, and I hum.
“Oh, yeah! I remember that. What about it? Been longing to ask.”
“… is your mum’s clone.” He completes his word.
“Wow. Isabella’s clone? ” I ask in return. “So, you mean this witch and wizard stuff has started a long time ago.” I add, and he nods.
“And this same day, in fact in few minutes, Dylan would be here with all the pack members. We are not living so near but a bit near. He would leave the pack members where they are, and come over here to see you and me.”
“That’s good. What about Isabella and Greg?” I ask.
“Isabella will surely come as well. And about Greg, he should come to get mated to Rose as well.”
“Wait… Rose said she has rejected him, didn’t she say that?” I object.
“She’s just being jealous. She’s got no other mate.”
“Alrighty! See you by 9am.” He says, and as he opens the door, Dylan comes in.
“Oh, my dear daughter is up!” He says, hugging me very tightly. “How are you doing this morning? Dad’s here, okay?”
I nod my head.
“Be cool, okay?” He adds, and I nod again.
Seats have been arranged in the field, and i know that’s for me. I look up and see my name boldly encrypted in blue print and shining with stars. The sky gives a bright light and that makes me smile.
Dylan goes over there and sit on one of the VIP chairs. No one’s seated yet so we should have time to enjoy and rejoice.
“It is your day of shifting. Your day of knowing your mate. Your day of getting marked. The day you are no longer in high school. The day you’ve got an Android phone!” Dylan hails and I chuckle as he lists them all.
But something diverts our attention. The time is 8:31am, I look at the clock in this field, and look at the main gate. Two big vampires enter with full force and intense aggression.
“That’s Jude and Ben. Whoever wins is your mate.” Dylan tells me.
A voice like a forghon erupts from their lips, making Karl shiver and getting shield with us in the VIP seats.
With their sharp claws and red eyes, they bark at each other, not returning to their human forms.
“Jack and Jill.” Karl clips.
“What do you mean?” I roll my eyes at Karl. “We are not joking here, are we?”
“I know. Jude’s Vampire is Jack while Ben’s is Jill.” He explains.
“Oh, wow! Really?” I retort, and he smirks. I really haven’t known their vampire names from the outset, those are vampires for you. They are damn secretive!
Their eyes change from red to green to dark blue and they growl as they pounce on each other. Jack climbs onto Jill and punches him in his nose. Groaning, Jill slides out of him and Jack unintentionally punches the hard ground with his fists. One of his fingers get destroyed immediately. Jill smirks, and punches Jack from behind. Jack groans as Jill hits his with all his might, rotating his head as though it would get off of his neck anytime soon. Jack wants to retaliate but Jill digs his hands into his buttocks and they all spew out blood on the ground. Jack groans and the sound blares the whole atmosphere, making Jess and others who are asleep wake up. Jessica comes out, and stops immediately she sees us seated on the VIP chairs, her mates don’t come they only get out of the room and watch two vampires fight with intense passion.
Jill gives Jack the hit it can give and when Jill sees that he’s winning, he smirks. But suddenly and with an unexpectedly high-pitched voice with a violent rush of wind, Rose approaches in her vampire form and hits Jill with her palm. She faces Jill, and uses her other hand to heal Jack (Jude)
The fuck. Someone should win on time. How does this affect Debe? (Rose) She knows that Jude has maybe lost his power so she probably wants Ben to lose his power too so I won’t get any one to be mated to.
“I want Sophia as my mate…” Jude (now in his human form) sniffles. “… please Rose, I want Sophia as my mate.”
“Are you willing to quit being an Alpha for Sophia?” She asks, and Jude changes his expression. Instead of fighting Ben, he fights Rose instead. He takes her to the ground, and digs his fingers which are Joe claws, into the nape of her neck. Rose gives a great yell as though she’d die soon.
“You bitch! You wanna take my position!” He yells at her, and both Isabella and Greg appears. Greg shifts into his wolf form, and attacks Jude. Jill gives Ben the control, and he sits, his hands on his chin, watching Jude fight Rose. Watching Greg fighting Jude.
“Get away! You bastard! How dare you do that to my mate!!” He yells on top of his voice as he sends Jude away from Rose immediately. Rose stands up, and hugs him tightly.
“Greg…” rose stammers. “… I’m sorry.”
“No, don’t be.” Greg retorts, his voice breaking. “We are getting mated today but that would be after Sophia’s.”
Isabella leaves them alone and heads to where we are.
“Mum, welcome, ma’am!” I hug her tightly and she doesn’t say a word. She sits on one of the sits and the time reads 8:46am.
Ben goes to meet Jude where he is groaning, where he was dumped off by Greg. He grins, and darts towards Ben again. Ben doesn’t shift into his vampire, he only takes a planned large object and hits it on him. Jude’s neck crunch, and dislocate. His head doesn’t balance again and he now looks unattractive. Ben hits him again and it becomes worse. He crawls up to meet Rose but she only hits him again. Greg hisses as we here also hiss at his nonsensical life.
“He killed me, idiot. I don’t know why you would consider him as a mate.” Dylan says.
“You have never said this.” I retort. “And, well, I can still heal him.”
Hearing that, Jude crawls towards me but Ben drags him back to the main gate as he hits his head on the gate again.
“Try to heal yourself, man!” I yell at him. “Or you can just mind link one of your members, they are at your beck and call, aren’t they?”
Jude then runs away with his feet not reaching the ground, then a new him approaches.
8:54am is the time, I tell Dylan and in a matter of three minutes, both Anna, her mate, Robert, and all other attendees have been seated.
Robert mounts the podium where both Jude and Ben are seated, staring at one another with disgust.
“So, thank you all for coming! Without using all our time to introduce, I’d like to remind you that Sophia is celebrating her 18th birthday today. Good, no one wished her happy birthday in person. It’s a rule guarding here, we don’t celebrate Christmas, New Year or birth days.” He says.
“Sophia Dylan, come up here.” He tells me and as I approach the altar, hair sprouts over all my skin and i begin to feel weird. With a loud noise, my head grows into another thing and I hold my head with my two hands, trying to balance since my feet are now thick claws. I now have a brown hairy skin, and blue eyes. As I stare at Robert, I return to my normal self.
“That’s not the shifting under the moon. This is just necessary.” He says, and hugs me. “Beau just took a temporal control. You’ll be marked now?”
“By two Alphas?” I ask, but he doesn’t respond. I stand with him in front of large congregation.
“Ben, come up here.” He says, and Ben stands up. He walks around the podium fifteen times, repeating same word as instructed and Rob stops him.
“Okay, fine! Passed.” He says, and Ben smiles as he stands near me.
“Jude, over here.” He calls Jude, and he comes. Jude walks around the podium and in his third attempt, he vanishes in air.
I scream but Ben holds me tight to him.
“Jude has been hurt, he only summoned his clone. Remember, he didn’t destroy his clone, he had this plan in mind.” All people here exhale sharply.
“Um, that’s deep.” I remark, and chuckle.
Robert clears his voice, and brings up the rite can with the dagger.
