ROSE’S POV
“You’re stupid.” Isabella says, unexpectedly. “Nothing like greeting?”
Sophia bows her head a bit but Maxwell rather prostrates completely.
“Who is this, and why are you greeting me?” Isabella says again, giving Maxwell the up and down look. Maxwell doesn’t stand up, he prostrates still then Dylan speaks up.
“Well, you can be on your feet. It’s a good one.” Dylan takes over. “Let’s go see Robert since Sophia is right here.”
Greg, I and Isabella remains where we are, speechless and almost drooling since our mouths are wide agape. Not that we don’t know what to say but because they are just too many things to say. We are too shocked to believe how Sophia saw her Dad and remains normal. We think she would first of all faint and wake up again then she would hug Dylan dearly like a lost child who is now seen. But no, reverse is the case. Maxwell stands up to his feet and holds Sophia’s hands as they follow Dylan to Robert’s office.
“Hey, wait there.” Isabella can’t control it anymore. We watch her as she flares up and goes ahead to slap Sophia. She tries the first hit but it dawns on Maxwell instead.
“Am I trying to hit you?” She yells at Maxwell. “Why are you hiding my daughter from getting the deserved punishment?”
“No, I’m not trying to but please don’t hit her.” He replies, his palm rubbing his cheek as a result of the hot degree it attained from the unexpected slap Isabella dawned on him.
“Please, Isabella.” Dylan clears his throat and Sophia hides more behind Maxwell. “What is your problem? Is this why you wanted to see your daughter so badly?”
I shift a bit from Greg but he shifts closer through subtle means one of which is throwing an eraser or a pencil and telling me sorry but shifting closer to pick it up and once he picks it up he assumes the position. I feel a bit uncomfortable sitting near him like this. And since an argument has already broken out in front of us, I join them there and he follows behind me.
“I don’t have any problem. Sophia!” She calls, and shuts her eyes.
“Yes, mum?” Sophia mutters.
“Who is this?” She points to Dylan but Dylan slaps her hands down.
“It’s Dad. It’s Dylan.” She replies. “You think I don’t know him? I’m still who I am and i haven’t taken the witch spirit upon myself. If I had, that’s when you can think I forget things easily.”
That tip clicks into Isabella’s head and mine too but Greg is only lost in staring at me.
“When did you see him last?” She asks, softly.
“Let’s talk, ma’am.” Maxwell retorts. “Maybe in one of the class rooms.”
“Okay?” Dylan winks at her.
“Okay.” She says and walks towards a class.
“Or would you rather talk in Robert’s office so we won’t have to repeat anything should any important information get disclosed.” Greg suggests but no one responds. We get into a class, and we all sit on the desks. School is not in session, only wolves who have gotten their mates are in school to celebrate their coronation and get mated.
The truth is, you can’t enter this school if you don’t have your mate. It’s either you want to get mated now or later but you must have had your mate. And your mate must be either present here or will be present if summoned anytime. I think this is the first issue that should be brought up.
“I have something to say.” I say, flatly. “Please drag down the curtains, and make sure no one listens to our conversation.”
Greg stands up and goes to drag them down voluntarily. I roll my eyes at him and slightly hisses.
“The first thing that should come up is for Sophia to tell us…” Isabella says, and clears her throat. She places her hands on her chest, and coughs out her lungs with control. “… to tell us if she is in her right senses because I’m damn surprised to see her acting normal. We both know Jude killed him when they both fought. I know it’s possible for him to come back to life but that’s only the moon goddess’ decision.”
“What if moon goddess decided without letting you know?” Maxwell asks and her voice goes down immediately.
“Whh … what?” She stammers. “What is the meaning of that?”
“The second main reason I came here is to let her see Dylan. I just wanted my time.” She says, and flings her hands on the desk repeatedly.
“You know we should not attract anyone here so our secrets won’t be exposed.” Greg advises.
“Screw that.” Dylan says with his right thumb.
“Sure.” Her voice is cool. “Go on with what you wanted to say.”
It takes me few minutes to get that tip from her, I don’t know she meant me.
“Oh, me?” I suddenly say as though I just recuperated from coma.
“Yes, you.” Greg replies.
“We all have what to say. Again, we will get to see Robert. So, do quick.” Dylan splutters and Sophia smiles and leaves Maxwell, then she goes to Dylan and hugs him from behind.
“Okay.” I clear my throat. “When we were saved from Jude…” Dylan cuts in.
“This is not historical. Summarize your words.” Dylan gesticulates with his hands and i nod.
“Isabella knows a lot about this. Sophia does too but not totally. This one does.” I am referring to Greg as “this one” and Ben does too, though a bit. Dylan, maybe.
“When we finally escaped from Jude’s traps and torture; Me, Isabella, Sophia, and Greg all returned to Dylan’s house.” I tell them. “And we got to bed, slept on cushions or beds then Isabella suggested that Sophia should return to school.”
“Okay. Quicker, please.” Dylan claps his palms together but Isabella furrows her forehead.
“So the deal was made. Yeah, Jude! Jude followed us home. I remember that..” I click my tongue.
“Even after killing me, and you allowed him despite the fact that you didn’t see me?” Dylan queries.
“No, that’s not the case.” Isabella replies. “Calm down, dear.”
“I think Jude has gotten this wizardry system since the start. Because I don’t know the spell he used for us. We were just calm with him.” I tell them, trying to calm Sophia down.
“Don’t you think Karl should be here?” Isabella suggests.
“No need.” Dylan deadpans.
“Sophia got to school in Jude’s car…”
“Must you say that?” Sophia tells me with her eyes. I roll mine at her and she sighs.
“… and we both got to school. Me and Sophia with Jude. Isabella instructed Jude to take Sophia with iron hands and we left to school so here are we in school.” I conclude, abruptly.
“That is not it. You are not clear enough.” Dylan queries.
“But you asked me to summarize and be quick. Didn’t you?” I retort.
“Oh, yeah, well, it’s fine. The information is good. Any other person who’s got something to say?”
“Not until others complete their words.” Greg retorts.
“To complete my words and explanations, we have to introduce the revolution of witches and wizard power reigning now.” I tell them and they all sigh.
“I heard about it. In fact, it is why I am here.” Dylan says. “I rescued your clone from Jude’s pack. Though Karl actually did but I and Greg tried to. How I escaped from death is an entirely different story but summarily, I sneaked into the pack and Greg also did. I didn’t know it was Greg at first because I went straight into the room where your clone…” He points to me. “… where your clone had a meeting with Jude and his people. I got a book and I tiptoed out of the office without anyone’s knowledge but immediately I noticed that someone is approaching, I pretended to be sick…” Greg chuckles softly after he says this.
“Now, you’re being too detailed.” I correct him and he clears his throat and summarizes it.
“… he followed me to the rest room but I didn’t open the door for him. He was able to enter since… What happened then, Greg? Seems I don’t remember.” He says, and points at Greg to give an answer. Greg shakes his head, saying that he doesn’t know what occured next.
“All I know is, our goal was to get to Sophia. And we needed Rose’s clone since she has the map with her and she has the witch trait in her. Though I know where Sophia went to but to get to her without any problem and again to rescue her, I think someone maybe ROSE or Ben sent her on that mission…”
I nod.
“Good. So to rescue her so we would get the map. I hope you got the map and your clone is here?” He asks and I fight back the tears pooling in my eyes, he doesn’t know that my clone has been taken away by the moon goddess.
“Ben and Jude are the top possessors of such power. School will be in session this January and today is December 23rd. We all know HAPPY KIDS HIGH SCHOOL in Berkerley doesn’t celebrate CHRISTMAS. Instead, they do coronations for wolves and vampires who are ripe to get mated and have gotten their mates.
“So, what do you all think about this power?” Isabella asks.
“We all have this power.” Maxwell says, and sighs since he’s not said anything for a while now.
“Sure.” Greg affirms.
“Moon goddess told us to drop it.” I tell them. “Isabella, remember?”
“Yes. She even warned us that it would delay our time of getting mated.” She says.
“That part scares me a lot.” Sophia adds. “I also read that but I don’t give a fuck.. we all need the power right now to attack Jude ande Ben and conquer them.”
“There goes my words, we heard that you have gotten your mate.” Isabella says, clearly. “Who is the mate?”
“It’s someone.” She replies. Isabella reaches out to slap her hard on her chin but Maxwell and Dylan block her way.
“She’s so rude. WHO IS THE MATE?” She barks at her.
“Me, ma.” Maxwell retorts.
“I wasn’t talking to you.” She snubs. “Who is your mate, Sophia?”
“Him.” She points to Maxwell and Isabella gives him the up and down look.
“We all know how we got here and it’s a great time reconnecting again. Greg, you’ll have to return home. Sophia will be here with Maxwell until she gets to her shifting age which would be next year, that should be May 4. Dylan and Isabella will also go home to rest and I will also stay here.”
“Well, I will be mated to my wolf today.” Greg retorts.
“As you wish.” I say, and stand up, banging my fists on the desks. “Let’s go finalize these with Robert, shall we?”
“Yes, we shall.” They chorus except Greg and we head to Robert’s office but midway getting there, we notice some kind of disarray few metres before us and that stops us in our tracks. Robert comes out of his office immediately and implores us to follow him behind, not noticing that we are many and he hasn’t seen some people out of us.
“Martha is celebrating hee coronation today. She is getting mated. Kindly sit and enjoy the ceremony.” He tells us and looks back after getting no reply.
“We are here for an issue more serious than this is.” Dylan says.
“Stay in my office. I’ll be with you in an hour.” He says and we move to his office without hesitation, knowing that he’s busy and will only get busier.
